And gave a very strong Holland a game last week. I have to say if you swapped England and Argentina, England would be going home. It's a shame, world class players, victims of some of the worst management I've ever seen. Fantastic performance by Argentina, look like winners to me, assuming they haven't peaked too early. 149736 It's like this every WC the first goodish side to score a few suddenly becomes favourite there is a long long way to go yet. This (Messi aside) is the side we beat very recently and they were trying they hate losing against us. Holland are a good side but have next to no defence and a misfiring midfield, love the way they play, but I can't see them getting to the final.
-
Without Messi we could probably beat them. But with Messi and Tevez its ganna be tough like. Serbs are cack though tbh. Not a result to go by. 149722 They won their qualifying group (which included Spain) and only conceded one goal, so it was some result today. 149729 Don't interrupt like that when I'm getting in my stride. I could take the Argies apart if you like.....They've got loads of problems and Spain are cack as well.

Yeah all this quick interchanging is a bit hard on the eyes like.

Mexico could be tricky they're only tiny and the others are giants. Btw I've filled in me list on General chat... 149699 Aye, I've done quite well lately though so I'm still in the black even if this one doesn't come off. Plus, I backed Hewitt to win at Queen's yesterday so it's only the £20 I won on him. Which list are you on about btw? 149702 Where everyone is naming who they like and stuff. 149704 I'm not playing that particular game 149705 I gave you a mention to protect myself against any backlash.

Agreed. 149695 Don't agree. England will rise to the bigger games.

Tevez is being kept out by Crespo, he told the Peckerhead he'd rather have Saviola as his partner.

"how old are you walliver!? ive got visions of an 18 year old with a 60year olds beard! peter sutcliffe?"

Always has been Holland.

He's had an inconsistent season but let's not forget in his first season in Serie A he got voted player of the year and not many can say that 149602 Who by the bookies?
-
I know I am in the minority but I think its a great decision to take Walcott. He isnt going to start but if youve got to ten minutes to go and you want one last throw of the dice then Bent or Defoe are a complete waste of time. But throw some teenager who nobody has ever heard of who can run 100 metres in 10 seconds and you might just create enough confusion for something to happem 149605 I would understand your point if he was using him, but I don't see Sven chancing him against one of the big sides in the knockouts. He's already pretty much admitted that having seen him more regularly in training, he doesn't think he's ready. Might have been an idea to do that before you picked him, Sven. 149614 When he was pressed on the matter he blamed Wenger.
-
Spot on. One of the problems we have with Owen and Crouch playing together is that we don't have the link up with the midfield that Rooney provides and limits us to hoying hopeful balls at the lighthouse who generally speaking can't aim his knock down headers, or many of his headers, for shit. 149592 General Gemmill and Shandy have it covered.
-
I think that is probably the best solution. Lampard and Gerard can work, they both played when we beat Germany 5-1 but Lampard plainly isnt playing well, and is also stopping Gerard from performing 149540 Agreed. But will Sven have the balls?
-
I would start Rooney and Owen. I still beleive Crouch being in the side tempts us away from porper football.
-
Beckham should be nowhere near RB against any half decent team. I'd rather see us go 3 at the back, as a RWB his defensive deficiencies will be less of an issue. He's no good as a holding CM either, we've been there before. 149523 Lampard needs dropping. Against weaker teams we can start 352. Too much caution. Show the lads you beleive in them Sven.
-
Sweden have always only really been a hard working - high tempo side. Back in the day Lundjberg and Larsson made a differance to them and Zlatan was to take those reigns. He holds up the ball a lot for Juve and brings Trez into the game which isn't really that hard. Trez tends to stay in the middle where Zlatan will go out wide left and make sacrifices hence the very few goals. To develop properly he needs to be the main striker.

Is that a cross board echo General Gemmill?
-
I can't stand him. Especially when he makes labrador eyes at the ref every time he's tackled. Pull away I say. We need Paraguay to win this right? 149292 A draw's the best result for us cos then we've won the group. I think. 149294 Sounds about right.

For the love of God!! There are about 36million good CB all over Europe we can pick up for next ot nothing or £3-4m tops.
-
I'd give Rooney the whole second half unless he starts.

It was a silly buy that will continue to haunt us....wages an all.

I take it the gentle irony wasn't overlooked.
