It sounds like this program will be more about explaining how loons like Parky think, rather than disproving their crackpot theories. Might be worth a watch though. I can honestly say I don't believe in any conspiracy theories, although David Icke was onto something. Bit bored with 9/11 now....

.......funny thing is a lot of stuff I make up ends up coming true. Or at least you imagine it does.

No his dad lives in Kabul he lives in Hamburg. Actually he has a German passport, but the way they have done it you can see he was born in Afghanistan (Kandahar - he speaks Pushtun), and it was due to this he had real trouble getting into Russia when his dad was living in Moscow. He had to sleep at the airport till his dad had paid the pre-requsite bribes to get him him, this was a few years ago mind. I'm always joking with him (he speaks perfect English and German as well) that he would be a great MI6 asset.

Do you disagree with the goal or the method of execution? Well the goal is spurious as Al Quaida or whatever other elements ie Taliban don't really offer concrete targetting oppurtunities. One is ghost like organisation which is as much in Pakistan and Sudan as anywhere and not really suited to being tackled by a conventional force. The other is rooted in the various communities and sometimes indistinguishable from civilians (when it wants to be) again not really ideal for intervention by a conventional force who are often a pretty large and well advertised target. Afghanistan is riddled with tribal war and various factions trying to control the 'poppy production', from which even the CIA used to make some cash back in the day. Basically the picture is too mixed and outside of Kabul no-one is really charge. You know what are our objectives there? No one has the answer. The goal while not at first well defined now appears to be stabilisation of the legitimate economy through providing reconstruction and development jobs on infrastructure projects. This first requires elimination at best or removal from permament zones at worst, of the Taliban. The second option is the more likely as the Taleban do not stay in a coherent force when faced with direct opposition. I think you are a little misguided with regards to the civilian aspect of the Taleban, there are numerous direct quotes of the sort where the majority of Afghan civilians are just that, caught between two sides in a war they don't want. Al-qaeda are a whole different kettle of fish, and the goal has to be as with Iraq, stabilise the country and concentrate on hunting Al-Qaeda when they more obviously stand out from the background violence. I would say considering the tribal nature of Afghanistan and the various factions all the above objectives are pretty much impossible. The picture is too mixed. When they say stabalise what do they mean? It has never been stable just one brutal war lord after another taking charge and factions constantly changing sides. You know the CIA and Pakistani SIS backed the Northern Alliance, they backed the Taliban (originally) - even they it seems aren't sure which way to go. This Kabul Govt won't last, I have a very good Afghani friend who's father still lives in Kabul (when he isn't in Moscow) and he just laughs about our attempts at 'stabalisation'. The main living to be had there is tribal warfare, land grabs and poppy farming. I suspect there aren't many 'civilians' outside of Kabul who aren't aligned to one side or another. There was something on CNN the other day about an American charity project who have been there for a few years now....It cut to a shot of brand new sowing machines lying unused (the women haven't been given permission by the men to use them). There are so many cultural constraints and tribal ritualistic practices, I just can't see how it will ever be condusive to our attempts at ' stabalisation' whatever that means? If you are saying we need to stay TILL THAT PIPELINE IS FINISHED, then that is another story.

The real tragedy here is that we're completely wasting our time and the lives of our men in Afghanistan.

You didn't have to be a medical expert to see he was incapabale of playing at anything like 100%. Not long after Roeder had said he wouldn't do that to players iirc. He's contradicted himself on numerous occasions in the last few months though. This is true. But Owen is a 'special case'. So was Dyer. Because they're bloody good players. No offence to Shola. Aye, he did well with Dyer and I expect to see him be very cautious about Owen too. Not that that makes Roeder any less of a hypocrite. Roeder is a muppet that must be clear to all surely?

I'm sure they are taking all the precautions required. Owen will know how he feels and HE isn't one to play or train if HE doesn't think he's upto it.

Call Tesco up and go mental at them and they'll refund your money and you'll have a free laptop. They gave me a refund when they didn't deliver it next day when they promised they would and then two days later the laptop turned up as well so everyone's a winner (apart from Tesco obviously). And integrity/honesty/worth. So you would have phoned them up and asked to give them back their £550 would you? Of course we all know that Tesco are full of integrity, honesty and worth and had the boot been on the other foot would have immediately rectified their error. ... by doing what; sending you a new laptop, or refunding your cash, for example? You reckon they would've taken any action had I not contacted them? It was them who deliberately misled me in telling me the laptop would be there the next day when it has since become apparent that this would have been logistically impossible. so, what you're saying is that because your laptop arrived 2 days late, you're justified in stealing it? What can I say? I'm a stickler for timekeeping. I'd go for some kind of compensation for mental anguish and worry about the whereabouts of yer laptop while I was there.

As has been pointed out, its the insurance company that will the pay the price (as well as the courier who probably thought he was doing S-O a favour). And what will that mean? Increased premiums and more declined applications from rightful claims. You can't justify theft as being morally acceptable becuase it's against a large company. It's an absolute wrong which always has consequences for other people. If S-O goes ahead with this, it will serve him right if they become suspicious and track the serial number one day. What he's planning to do is no better than someone going into his porch and, well, nicking a laptop. Get over yourself....I would be much happier if the evil Tesco paid.

To be fair though, it's not quite in the same league as when you claimed you were privvy to secret info by knowing someone in MI6 (or similar) No. I knew someone who's mum was in Mi6 about 15 years ago. Judy Dench? Tbh I'm surprised Alexis remembers stuff like this. That was a whopper though tbf. I can't even remember what it was about....

No. You claimed that. Slight difference I claim a lot of things.....Some of which are really just in my head.

Patton is a helluva Sunday afternoon film!! -
Den likes a tight knit group around him. This kind of incident is as bad as refusing to 'play cards' with the lads.

Looks like an interesting read, will have a look later.

In the grand scheme of things, saying football has had the same influence on the world as the bible is a bit thick. No-one said that was the case tbh. Its inclusion in the list implies that though. Does Newcastle being in the top ten suggest we're as good as Man U then? .....is this ganna get out of hand?

Must have a look at that. I've got it unread on my shelf.
