You do talk a lot of shite at times. I'd say generally, it's the perfect scenario. Is it good to have things too comfortable? Who mentioned too comfortable but you, right now? It's good to have loving caring parents and a stable background, yes. The stats prove this. That is the perceived wisdom. I don't disagree with you or Alex on a personal level and I often think about my childhood and wished it had been easier in certain aspects....But then I wouldn't be me.... One thing that made me think was when at my old company after 3 years I got involved in the interviewing process...What do you know the most boring and twatty interviewees all had perfect CV's...It kind of has a bearing on this subject although at a slight tangent..In discussing the candidates it was often difficult to tell some of them apart, so similar were their backgrounds and performance...The people that shone (and this surprised me at the time) were the ones who had less than good CV's, they came across as slightly erratic and ubnbalanced but driven. -
It's deffo on the list man. Everyone seems to be raving about it. If you like Sergio Leone it'll be just your bag. It's a modern take on a western and the cinematography is superb. I loved it. ...now you put it like that.

You can't add films to the list, it's not 2006 anymore! These are films released in 2006...Comprende?

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
Park Life replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
I've seen it twice I don't know why some people are down on this film. Good work. Park Life I reckon you're a bit like Cartman in his love for Mel like. Mel in his directing role has done very little wrong so far though. -

Generally speaking I don't know if getting on with your parents and having a lot of stability is really good for a person. -
Letters from Iwo Jima added. Very brave and elightened directing from Eastwood, the pace in the same vein as Unforgiven. Contemplative is the word.

"Ah Diana!" I miss her antics. Sorry. You ruined that by apologising tbh.

The less the Americans get involved with 'soccer' the better. I hope the game withers over there. Sorry. -
I thought the rules were that after a year you have to take a job they offer you or do community work?

- Do you relentlessly obey signs ordering you to keep off the grass, put your bins in the right place etc. and have no problem with castigating others for not doing so, but fail to understand the concept of forming an orderly queue? - Do you live in mortal fear of crossing a street on the red man even if there are no cars for miles around and there's tumbleweed rolling past? - Do you tolerate endless bureaucracy and form-filling even though you know most of it only exists because the government have employed far too many people in cushy job-for-life civil servant positions? - Do you put "Dr." in front of your name at all times even if you're not a medical doctor? Do you fail to see how ridiculous it is to put all of your titles in front of your name, even if it makes you a "Prof. Dr. Dr."? - Do you pay lip service to racial tolerance but think cartoons of Africans with big lips and bones through their noses are still perfectly OK? ...sorry, am I missing the point a bit? - Do you enjoy munching down on a big fat sausage? That's better. I always get tutting when I do this.

And there was me scraping out an existence as a freelance translator. Mind, the Finanzamt haven't bothered to take my last batch of income tax yet, so it's swings and roundabouts... why, the interest alone will keep me in crisps for at least a week. Send me an email regarding your terms Meenzer. I've sent you a pm.

Most of the taxi wallahs here are either Nigerian or Ghanian and obviouly of Turkish origin. The Africans regularly ask me about England and the situation there (with wide £££ eyes) once I give them the low down, they realise how lucky they are here. Infact in Hamburg the state tops up their earnings if they have a slow month as long as the electronic meter (not sure how it works) has the required time/mileage on it.

Parky and Chex held accountable for bringing chaos to the French Republique.

No it just applies to 'wogs'....I think the Spanish and Italians are borderline. Fair enough. French and Germans won't bother, the benefits here and 'there' (Chez) are way too good. I know people here who haven't worked for 7 years and go to 'back to work' courses and read comics (or is it graphic novels). In France of course you don't even have to sign on, you just make a phone call and and tap in a code. Got a Canadian mate who moved to London last year and is still signing on in France. Serves the thick twats right imo. The French system is by far the easiest I've known people working in bars in Spain still signing on in France.

Sorry, I wasn't implying that I'm from another country and just happened to be born here. I'm 100% British by birth. Born and raised in Gloucester/Cheltenham, though thankfully my parents were from elsewhere, so at least I'm not West Country born and bred. Eeeek! Close one Pat.

Students doing community work not THAT is an idea!

I hope there is some mileage in it though....I'm never happy with these annoncement till people start saying they will 'boycott' the corner shop or Red Ken gets involved. From the article: David Davis, the shadow home secretary, dismissed the plan as "a headline-grabbing initiative of very little substance", and said Mr Brown should concentrate instead on establishing a dedicated British border police."
