Olive farms are nice. Stayed in a converted olive press in Tuscany once. Was a canny holiday. We were the only people in the village who spoke English like, so trying to buy anything involved pointing and speaking very loud in English. The fresh local produce is something to behold in places like Tuscany. I spent a few months in the middle of France Massif Central (sp) with a French girl on a farm.....The sheer stillness..Beautiful.

And therein lies the problem. We just aren't an attractive proposition to the right sort of manager anymore. ...I personally don't really beleive that (or don't want to)..The right man is out there, it's just that we don't seem to look properly. I think the last bit is also true which makes my previous post a bit of pointless point to make really. Best hope we've got is Shearer imo and I find it hard to believe I'm actually saying that now. Shearer's not daft, i'd be suprised if he'd walk into the job when we're in this position with Freddy as Chairman. Maybe the BBC thing might change things a bit, but even with his licence and without other jobs I dunno that he'd be daft enough to come back. On the one hand it must be a pull to try it, but on the other he has a LOT to lose if it doesn't go well (and even if he IS a great manager that doesn't guarantee things would go well). Felix Magath has been saying he wants to try his hand at the PL. Available. I would rather appoint Howard Wilkinson.

Exactly how BIG is he anyway? I think Gemmill describes him as a 'shaved bull'. He always looks like he's got a skin moustache to me, same as John Major. In football management size is everything.

I'd fill ? with new players and kick off with Martins/Owen see how it goes. Dyer would need to come forward as needed and brush up on his link play and his little runs (which he is good at anyway). IMO we should get rid of Duff/Parker/Ameobi and any of the others we can get good money for. Keep Butt as the replacement DM role covering for inj and rest.

I've got a Flamengo one like. I've got a Boca one, wrong country but ya na. Class top Boca's like mate always been a fan of it. Park Life I'm Romario's biggest fan but even he admits (which takes a hell of a lot) that he's no Pele. Pele wasn't just a goalscorer like Shorty. I meant on the subject of goal counting silly. Are you aware Romario is including goals scored in friendlies and amateur goals. I don't begrudge him that.
