  1. And still better than the Shola. What a goal! http://www.d1g.com/video/show/?id=1727019 the technique what a shit smiley thing Given type goal-keeping there. One tiny step sideways a quick call on the mobile and whoops it's past me.
  2. We need to get rid. Not really a footballer more like a sprinter who can kick the ball hard in the general direction of the goal.
  3. I marvel at Keane and his ability to moan more than the combined effort of the whole Manure mob.
  4. Dawson guarantees at least one blunder a game. Two in this one so far.
  5. Even the creative midfielder we need - how could Keegan have identified one after being out of touch for so long by his own admission? He'll have a far clearer idea by the summer who he wants and those in the squad who are worth keeping. Milner's one of those for me who flatters to deceive. Keegan might think he's great on seeing him in training for example, but a lot of these players go missing when the heat is on. These are the things you find out as the season unravels. With all due respect the club should have a list of analysed targets unless it operates contrary to all other PL clubs. ???? Drawn up by whom like? We've just changed managers..unless you simply want Kev to adopt BSA's list, if he should happen to find it on the dressing room floor? So everyone at the club is waiting for KK (3 years out of the game) to identify targets? Erm....that's one of his main functions. Besides, if you're wanting to take this out of KK's hands and are premising this on what our scouting network will have had their eye on recently (established talent) then this argument fails too as they're going to have been very much 'on message' from the previous manager(s). BSA for instance wouldn't have let them through the door to talk about the types of player that Keegan would be interested in - so they'll have been looking at targets that fit the BSA system/Souness system before that. It's not about SA's players or KK's players its about tracking and securing and watchng good players. We need a creative AM and one or two others by all accounts now, waiting till the summer or the winter after isn't going to change that, infact waiting to contact agents (with a pool of players under his wing) till the summer is ridiculous...Join the queue. edited my post to respond to your edit. PS yes the summer is going to be a free for all, but then that was always going to be the case. It always is. By default I'm probably making the case for a DOF which will make Baggio happy.

They need to get on with it of course the bulk of the new side will be purchased in the summer, but that shouldn't preclude us testing the market now. The fact that we so far have gone for the semi-crock Woodgate doesn't bode well either.

So everyone at the club is waiting for KK (3 years out of the game) to identify targets? This watch and wait stuff reads well and placates various anxieties (of which there are many) but it is totally detached from the reality of the market. Good players are monitored by clubs all around the world continually, they don't pick up the phone the day the window opens. Agents are continually asked what is what. The club over the last couple of years (and it has said so itself) has been working much harder on the scouting network. Clubs test players resolve to stay or come in various ways. There is absolutely no logic in this lets asses in the summer argument - Pearson and Round will be able to tell KK pretty much all he needs to know about the current players. Good players need to be approached (maybe not purchased) as soon as possible or we continue to fall behind.
  8. What pool of desirable players? Are you saying SA and the muppets before and our scouts and agent contacts are all magically blind, deaf and dumb or summat?

  10. Do people think other clubs will wait around for that pool of desirable players till the summer so we can get our act together/wait/watch/scratch arse?
  11. The only thing you should be depressed about is what genuine, good, quality players want to come to our club. I'm not just talking about this transfer window, but the past the present and the future despite the Keegan-factor. That is reality... If the likes of Pompey can attract good players we shouldn't have a problem.
  12. I wouldn't bother with short term worries like that. We aren't getting into Europe or anything this year, it needs cool heads, not rushing to pay more than you think is right for players you don't think are good enough, just to have someone to parade around. Remember last time? We lost 5 in a row shortly after his arrival, his enthusiasm isn't enough to single handedly turn a season round completely, but a summer of rebuilding later and we started with 15 unbeaten. Points accepted. But if we don't reinforce with one or two now and we do lose/draw the next 5/6, not buying now will be bought into question. The knock on affect will also mean if we finish very low that won't help attracting talent in the summer.
  13. Might as well scrap the Jan window? Is it that no-one buys in Jan? I don't like this idea of buying in Jan as a panic buy, scouting and player portfolio's are built up season after season, it's not as if we would be buying players that just pop into the head after a few pints. Red herring imo.
  14. MA is starting to make noises about spending big so we'll see.
  15. If I was speaking plainly I'd say they could make a better case for joining if it indeed did come down to that. Ramos and Levy are absolutely serious about breaking into the top 4 and getting Jol out is testament to that....5th wasn't good enough.
  16. Emre can do a bit of a job but has a total lack of range in his passing (never mind the shocking set pieces). Yes the players coming back will make a difference but I'd have cracked on a (and we still might) and got some audacious bids in for true quality. Football now is very much a speculative environment and you really have to match spend and ambition to send the right signals to prospective purchases and recently we have done neither. Even in the summer we spent in real terms and by PL standards a very average amount (this was where the problems started this season). So far KK has let it be known that spending is not an issue but I wonder if he really knows the true costs now of a good player.
  17. We do really make a fiasco of signing players at this club for whatever reason. My main worry is that KK doesn't realise how fully shit the squad is and the little upturn in form and them actually running around to some purpose will soon evaporate. We need to sign good players as early as possible and that is part of the process of attracting other good players.
  18. Whats the picture of on that award?looks like Barba poppa in bondage Think it's a lamb kebab. That trophy must now be Britain's least used fruit bowl an all.
  19. Man U spent wildly in the summer would be shocked if AF lumps another wad on the table.
  20. As if Spuds are going to match that?! Keane is only on 10p* *A dive.
  21. Shit. Wrong thread. Sorry chap. Erm...entry 568 of this thread was my way of literally taking action upon your words chap....even taking them out of context......oh fuck it....... I owe the world dear....But the world is asleep.
