  1. Unless the players force the issue? As is the case in your two examples and not the case with Duff. If you want to believe Chelsea let players core to their project leave that is upto you. I can't help you with that.
  2. Something we should look into oneday.
  3. He's supposedly there now discussing personal terms Can't remember how much he cost but must be a decent profit for Harry.
  4. At least I didn't try and edit it. Unlucky. I remembered he was part of the Cole deal. I looked it up and checked, and he was. There you go. You should have done the same with his age. Either way, to say they don't let good players go is patently bollocks as Gallas was arguably the best centre-half they had, even if Mourinho preferred Terry and Cavalho. They let him go to get Ashley Cole but that doesn't stop him being a good player (or make him 35), does it? Who else who is utter quality have they let go then apart from your one solitary example strewn as it was with mitigating circumstances vis a vie Cole? ...and please try and resist mentioning the Dutch semi-crock (ala Duff) that went to Madrid. Look, we count the false statements in this thread if you like, you're winning. And Crespo is a good player (yes, he's on loan but I can't see him coming back any time soon). And Robben is a class player imo too. I'm happy to call it a draw. Cause I'm nice like that. I imagine you are. You know as well as I do Crespo couldn't get in the side often enough due to Drogba and was unhappy and asked for the loan (was reported anyway). Robben wasn't playing enough games and was a constant fitness worry and Mourinho was even at the point of questioning his commitment. Not sure how many games he's played for Madrid. I'll leave the checking to you.

  6. I find these kind of signings very positive.

  8. He don't like blondie though and nor do I so full power to him. Thought Beckham had won him round at Madrid. If this is him 'getting back' at Beckham in some way the bloke's a bit of a twat. I think he's just taking the job seriously and in all fairness Capello has never been the romantic type.

  11. You know perfectly well my broader point. They wanted Cole more than they needed the aging Gallas (he was 34 after all). A rather poor attempt at pedantry successfully parried. I thank you for your efforts. Gallas is only about 30 now. He was 29 when they signed him. However old he is, he was surplus to requirements as was Duff and later the legless Geremi. We all know Duff might put in some good games but will never be the same player again as Mourinho knew when he sold him...All I'm saying.

  13. I still think, give how little he's played (both here and for Chelski before he came), he could still be getting back form. On the other hand the longer he goes without really showing that I guess the reality that he is now just nothing like the player he was becomes more likely. Chelsea don't let good players leave. Aye, Gallas is shite. You talk bollocks sometimes. Wasn't Gallas part of a wider deal? and isn't he about 90? 1st sentence - the irony. 2nd sentence - no. 3rd sentence - no and what's that got to with it anyway? He's still quality. You've committed the crime that actually in fairness you rarely fall foul of and that is the digging up of one solitary contradictory example to prove a fallacious point. In this instance you have rather churlishly further blighted your often pristine copybook with a flagrant inaccuracy. Blues beat deadline to sign Cole Cole's deal just went through before the midnight deadline Chelsea have ended a long-running saga by signing England full-back Ashley Cole from Arsenal in exchange for £5m and France defender William Gallas. Bow down. Ha ha rather sharp edit my dear.

  16. After what has gone on over the last couple of years we're extremely lucky we still have him at the club imo.
  17. IMO £3m is a fair price for a very promising players and one that could give us options in our turgid midfield. Firstly in the summer we hardly buy any quality and we follow it up by the looks of it by buying no-one. Mystifying.
  18. Reading are on a similar run to us at the moment. Wigan and Birmingham are showing signs of improving, I don't think Wigan will go down.
