  1. Is Football so different here these days. I've never been to a 4 hour game of football. I have, I've also been to an all day game of cricket, no difference IMO I wonder if cricket will take off in the U.S.?
  2. Shocking I know. To clear things up, Terry Mac doesn't coach. Not really. It's one of your trademarks You bitch!
  3. Football is too graceful and complicated for Americans. If things aren't exploding or beefcakes aren't running into each other at 30mph they don't really think it's a sport. You really got to the essence of my point there. Well done. The point I'm making is that 'entertainment' is the main requirement (in these countries) which is a clear adjunct to your point IMO.

  5. Yes that a big change from his previous unlikable dishonest persona. Did I say he's changed? Sorry for the confusion. implies he is in a different state to a previous state, which seems more like change than staying the same '...to the point' is the qualifyier. ie He was like that but he is even more so like that. Good interview mind.

  8. Ken, are you one of us in disguise? Culina had a good game last night by the way. Nah mate. I is English, but am an adopted Southerner (London). I've been to Australia a few times though and know Sydney pretty well. I brought Jason Culina up as I believe he is the perfect man to replace the useless Nicky Butt. I watch the Dutch league with interest and he's done well for PSV. I know his contract is up this season so he'd cost nothing. I remember him from the World Cup also. His passing both long and short is second to none, and he protects the two centre halves well, he used to be an attacking player too so I think he's the perfect KK type player. As for Bresciano, I think he'd do well in the PL myself. IIRC Sven had him at Man City this season but his Italian club pulled the plug at the last minute because they couldn't get someone to replace him. Great freekicks, great eye for a pass, loves to get in the box. He has qualities that none of our current squad have. We missed out on Elano, so we should get straight in and get Bresciano imo. Direct replacement for Emre. Ken, I knew you were english from our various conversations but thought maybe you were living here, mind you after your quip at me over sacking Allardyce it's lucky you're not because I would of sent my mum 'round! Culina would be a great shout, especially on a free and as much as he's a twat I'd rather see us in for Cahill than Marco. I'd also like to know what the hell is going on with Troisi because the games I've seen him play (for Australia) he's been outstanding. The only problem I see with having to many Australians is the long and drawn out world cup qualifying process. I'd hate for two of our first choice midfielders to be knackers every game after an international round and I'd hate to see them not available for our country because they have club responsibilities. Would like to see more of Troisi.

  10. He's now become honest and likeable to the point where he's getting a bit boring.
  11. Basically Egypt were compact and organised and CDI were in love with themselves. Drooogba missed a couple of sitters and that was that.
  12. Lareya Kingston. Get him!! Who? Sounds like a reggae singer. Better than anyone we have in midfield. http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/socc...p-up.php?ID=194

  14. Starting tonight in the AM role.
  15. "Even more irksome was the wariness with which the British regarded Philip when he first came on the royal scene. A poll taken in 1947 revealed widespread dismay at Philip's alien origins. Never mind that he was, like Elizabeth, a great-great-grandchild of Queen Victoria. To the public he became 'Phil the Greek', an opprobrious nickname which still surfaces from time to time today. It was inaccurate. Philip was born a Prince of Greece, but his ancestry was actually Danish and German. The nickname was none the less wounding for that, though." He line is oringinally from the House of Hannover crossed with the Danes. The Danes had the practice of exporting Royalty and Royal lines to countries where the natives didn't really trust each other to run things. Our Royals are mostly Krauts as well Stevie if you were wondering. Saxe Coburg Goethe till the name changes. Aye but if a Paki is born in England, are they Pakistani or English? They're English of course they are, so Phil remains Greek till the day he dies. Hang on, my brother was born in Singapore but he's English If a dog's born in a stable it doesn't make them a horse. Still, I must admit I've always thought Phil was Greek. Getting back to the main topic, I'm not supporting anyone in particular, I lose interest when my team's not playing. It's not in the interests of the 'Royals' to tell people anything meaningful.
  16. God you lot are finicky. Good performance and the players played nice and tight within formation for a change. They did cheer the possession later when they started to understand what was going on.
  17. Second half was a lot better from England. Owen must be pissed off, every outfield player apart from Lescott got a bit of playing time, Owen didn't. Could be good for us though. Might put in a bit more effort with his second team now.
  18. At the very least it's nice to be able to sit back knowing they've got some clue what to do now.
  19. Geremi £2m??? Apparently he is doing ok at the ANC Geremi goal v Tunesia Doing really well for Cameroon. His set pieces have been surprisingly good throughout the whole tournament. As for players: For centre half I would like us to go for Mertesacker. Imbo (the b stands for biased before anyone is asking) the probably most underrated centre half in Europe at the moment. Tall, good reading of the game and always tries do build up the game from the back. I think we had this talk last year Isegrim. Yes rate him.
  20. I honestly don't think England are playing well. The amount of misplaced passes and lost balls in the first half was shocking. I agree it will take the players time to get used to Capello's continental way of playing though. The misplaced passes come with the territory.
  21. I think we're playing rather well. Looks like they know what they should be doing after years of looking like clowns postionally. The Italian way is for the def to be confident enough to bring the ball up and squeeze space so the midfield can rotate and be available for the ball. The players seem to be doing this without too much effort but it will take time. Much better than hoofing it to a winger or straight down the middle and losing posession every 10 seconds. J.Cole needs to get closer to Rooney. Ginge looks really bad.
  22. Who's the guest yabbering shit in the background?
