I was wondering when he'd pipe up.

Didn't someone mention that the average premier league wage at it's peak was £13k/week? Give him that. Knock a bit off for perpetual grinning and pointing at other players.
-
He can go if he wants.
-
I suspect this is Wisey's way of pestering fresh milfage.

We should only really sign players who wear alice bands or twirl their hair a lot. Or do that prolonged tucking strands behind ears thing.
-
11yr old written off...Only at Newcastle.
-
I have mentioned it before but I still harbour some doubts about this Ramos fellow.
-
that's some fucking claim when Sagna, Gallas and others are knocking about... It has been noted that strikers start fiddling with their hairdo's when not scoring.

Spending itself is no longer the issue. Vision of what kind of club want to be is now the question.

Diego did cost Bremen 5m Euro, van der Vaart did cost Hamburg 5.5m Euro. You don't have to be lavish, you just have to be clever. Totally agree. But we have to also be aware that top marquee players attract other big players. So ambition must be worn on the sleeve. **I'm not interested in discussing the past before the usual suspects pipe up. Totally agree about "ambition". The factor "attraction" is a reason why I wouldn't as easily get rid of Owen as others probably would do as long as he is able to actually play decent as well. But there are players who maybe have a decent name, but whose career has stalled or they are unhappy for one or another reason who are probably easier to attract. It's just a case of doing your homework (that's the job for the wise men now). At the current moment of time Newcastle are not able to lure happy players from big clubs anyway, regardless of the money they were offering. Sensible post. And there are a lot of players not quite firing at their current clubs who will start to think about getting on the train, a train that is gathering speed by the week.

TBF he's had a lot on his mind. He's beginning to put it together imo.

That's what I'm hoping for: the "reverse honeymoon effect". Most managers when they come in inject some life into a squad which has saved us from embarrassment in the past. But it's ultimately a short term fix and sees a return to shite soon enough. With Keegan there was no quick fix, but hopefully this is a sign that something will come good in the long run. A lot of it is just that he's telling them simple things which they can understand and not overcomplicating it. The other thing he does is give you a big hug.

Barton will be adopting that position in the prison showers soon. HIs midfield general will be sorely tested I guess. Or will he play in the hole?
-
He was at the center of 2/3 of the key blunders and missed tackles. He needs to shut up and get back to football.

A few weeks ago it was hard to imagine that Owen would start to score freely. All credit to him for taking onboard KK's ideas and keeping his confidence going.
-
At 1-2 they started losing their way and I couldn't see that they had a plan B at 1-3 Ramos gave up and we were totally running the midfield much to Poyet's anger. I've said it all season Spurs don't have a central midfield. Pakora and Fattystone aren't good enough. They often try the hide and seek one two's through the middle but Beye and Faye (SA's best buys) read most of it and bullyied the players who came into their space. Normally if this isn't working they try going wide and playing a late cross...Why play Lennon on the left? When he came on I had my fingers crossed he would go over to the left where he always cuts inside (gives defences time to step up or re-organise). This thing KK has started with Owen where he comes deep and then ghosts in late for chances basically makes him unplayable and unreadable. If Owen stays fit I can see him having his Inzaghi phase with us.

A joyous, joyous day! Everything suddenly comes together and even the clogger Geremi looked alright in spells.

I bet the press still manage to pick on something negative though. This is the cockney media's nightmare result to be fair If we actually managed to overhaul Spurs in the league by the end of the season i think they'd implode! All of their 'Ramos tactically outclasses yesterdays man Keegan' headlines will have to be shelved. I honestly think some of them will be in tears He's a good manager as Benitez is but I just hate all the worshipping at the feet of European coaches as soon as they arrive.

Probably the wrong time and thread but I still would like to see a better DM than Butt bought in. Owen just looks absolutely deadly at the moment.
