I only realised last time I was in Hamburg how many Portugese are living there. A couple of very good restaurants though... Great food allround. By the Hafen especially. Couple of years back on NYE me and the Mrs had a great meal and I'd left all me cards at home...They just let us off. One in the Schanzenviertel was really brilliant. La Sepia? Sim. That's the one. Excellent. Love it, right down to the black-bordered photo of the (deceased) head of the family with the accompanying text that rattles on about "ETERNA SAUDADE" and all. So very Portuguese. If you're ever back in that neck of the woods again, the Greek place next door (Olympisches Feuer) is awesome too. I also like to go down to the Fleischmarkt warehouse where the imported beef comes in and eat in the tiny restaurant above. Just cuts of beef on the menu.
