Certainly gives the story more gravitas. No it doesnt. If the BBC arent covering a big story and everybody else is, they will rehash the details so they dont lose out on readers. Happened the other day with the Keane story (thats gone quiet by the way). Rule of thumb - No quotes = No story. It is in no way comparable to the Keane story. This is important. You have to ask yourself it it was totally made up why they didn't bother to make the price more realistic. ie £300m Erm, let's have a think...why would The Sun sensationalise something they probably made up? No, you're probably right. Just saying I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand if you take a look at Ashley's business history. Well, given none of us know how true it is, that's fair enough. But I don't see how the figure the Sun is quoting makes it any more believable than anything else they claim to have the inside track on about us. You seemed to be saying the figure back up there claims somewhat though. In all actuality Ashley is a businessman and if a good offer came in he would sell. At some point he will sell regardless of what figures are banded about, that's no reason for us to worry or feel defensive. There will be other owners and other chairman. Probably true. Not much to do with what I said like. I'd go as far as to say at some point in the next 5 years Yanks, Saudi's or Dubai will buy this club. I'd rather it wasn't yanks.
