Aye his deal sounds dodgy anyway, but either way the issue should be with him and his club/clubs. It does sound like a lot of it is wishful thinking about that £8m though, admittedly this being widespread is going to make the top clubs even more powerful I guess, I always wondered how football had managed to make contracts so inescapable legally.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
Park Life replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
I heard that it's a completley awful film and only the special effects is the only real ok-ish thing about it. Parky already does those sort of reviews on here mate. -
Anything to contribute or just making a statement?

So they instigated the whole thing but all of a sudden Ashley 'iz the sell0rz!!1!!!' Thats just it. They approached him and suddenly he wants to sell? He'd be made not to listen but they have already said they baulked at his asking price. Hardly like he is desperate to shift it is it? Wasn't Jimenez in Dubai recently? Jiminez is involved in player recruitment though, isn't he? In Dubai? Those shiekhs can't half kick a footy

Certainly gives the story more gravitas. No it doesnt. If the BBC arent covering a big story and everybody else is, they will rehash the details so they dont lose out on readers. Happened the other day with the Keane story (thats gone quiet by the way). Rule of thumb - No quotes = No story. It is in no way comparable to the Keane story. This is important. Yawn, Torres must be a master hacker. The height of delusion if I may say so. How on earth is the selling of Newcastle on the same level as selling a player?

any pictures? dont want any toon-esque little surprises with this one! What use is a picture? Mam's are for making tea and cakes and driving dad's home when they've had too much. You think these investors turned up for the talks and asked for a picture of Michael Owen?

My mum's priceless mate.

Exactly. You have to ask yourself it it was totally made up why they didn't bother to make the price more realistic. ie £300m Erm, let's have a think...why would The Sun sensationalise something they probably made up? No, you're probably right. Just saying I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand if you take a look at Ashley's business history. Well, given none of us know how true it is, that's fair enough. But I don't see how the figure the Sun is quoting makes it any more believable than anything else they claim to have the inside track on about us. You seemed to be saying the figure back up there claims somewhat though. In all actuality Ashley is a businessman and if a good offer came in he would sell. At some point he will sell regardless of what figures are banded about, that's no reason for us to worry or feel defensive. There will be other owners and other chairman. Probably true. Not much to do with what I said like. I'd go as far as to say at some point in the next 5 years Yanks, Saudi's or Dubai will buy this club. I'd rather it wasn't yanks.
