If we sit down with a player and make a good case I firmly believe (especially if KK was at the table) that structured wages shouldn't be a barrier. Wages at Spurs are tiny squad wide (Keane 35k, Lennon 25k), but they make a good case. They also made exceptions for Berbatov and now Modric is on a fair whack. Everton have also been quite careful in the markets and I'm sure they don't pay big wages either. So it can be done.
