  1. What is the Golden Gloves though? Can't believe the cluelessness on here ... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/liv...89520-20418895/ (not aimed at you ... you appear to have some savvy on your side). You mean just for the PL. Thought it would be some cooked up Uefa/fifa thing plus free nosh and booze for malingering hacks.
  2. Do you truly believe that your squad is strong enough to mount a sustained challenge to the premiership this season? You've got a good team, no doubt, but Hyppia is too old, Carragher and Agger are quality, but they're not in the same class as the pairing of Ferdinand and Vidic imo I reckon you'll be the buffer between the teams scrapping for the title and the teams scrapping for the last CL spot. Won't make CL this year imho. Benny gone soon after.
  3. What is the Golden Gloves though? It's what you get when you've been signing on for 5 years in Liverpool.
  4. Mascherano, Alonso, Renia, Agger, Babel, Kewell, Morientes, Anelka (albeit on loan). Mascherano agreed Alonso agreed Reina debatable Agger & Kewell = having a laugh how exactly are these tier one signings?? nothing on owen or shearer Morientes didnt do too well did he but albiet a top player on his day Anelka debatable
  5. It's a tricky one, I'm sure his advisors have reminded him he can walk on a free next summer or something similar. That's why I reckon he'll sign. There's been no interest shown even when he did have a buyout clause in his contract. Even on a free, are many clubs going to spend £100k+ a week on a 30* year old that's scored 20* goals in 3* years? He could be throwing away a shitload of money if he has another catastrophe that fucks his season up this year. *just guesses Hope we keep him. Fingers crossed. KK says he'll be captain. So it's a wait and see now.
  6. That's some budget you've got this summer. Correct policy as well. What's Spurs spending up to now? Modric - 15.8m initial GDS - 4.5m initial Gomes - awaiting work permit / personal terms Don't forget Bostock was 700K. Also Modric deal is £16.6M and Giovanni is £4.7M. £22M so far. If they buy these other two and sell Berba and Keane to pay for it all, I'd worry about where the goals will come from as the new signings take time to settle. Modric rises to 20m if they qualify for Europe. ITK-tastic!! Incorrect, the statement to the stock exchange said 4 payments of 4.125m over four year if all criteria met. Yes you've convinced me.

Chimbonda, Tainio, Malbranque, Kaboul, Robbo, all on the way out. Our kitty is going to be mega. Lets hope the new signings bed in quickly. DM? I KNOW But does Rajvinder Ramos know??
  9. So that's one of the absolute wasters on silly wages gone. Very good. He was on 60k ish?? Speculation. But even if he was on 60ish it was far too much... Of course.
  10. Totally agree, plus he is really comfortable on the ball. Will play for France in 2/3 years no problem.

  14. Jesus Christos!! They must be hoping for a lot of pens next season.
  15. Aye, assuming they are putting in a wage structure (and it's still hard to say as there's nothing really definite either way), it's bound to be painful and effect recruitment and therefore Premiership achievement for a season at least (maybe quite a few more). The worrying thing is that although some of FFS dealing were silly, at the same time we'll always be paying more all things being equal, which is being made worse by the money other clubs are throwing around now. Newcastle with a wage structure is like a dead shark. Huh? Going nowhere? Just don't get why having some structure is such a bad thing. That's the question. Should you discipline your kids and make them adhere to strict rules to keep them on the straight and narrow, or let them do as they please so their spirits can soar? Parky's an old hippy so he'd say option B. Too right bro.
  16. Please believe it, because then it's bound not to go through. You bugger!

Structures are fine, but they have to be flexible or we'll have to rule out all tier one players for the near future.
  18. Everton very close to Moutinho. Monday I reckon. Zhavi anxious to get his commission. €22.5 should do it. Can't quite believe they are getting him.

  20. Rubbish. Saying Spuds know about CD's is like saying Robinson Crusoe writes city guides.
