  1. They're exercising their scarcity power, when we have enough money they're going to sell it to us. Money. You're not serious Shirley? No, it was a joke. That av is killing me, I can't read your posts now without giggling.
  2. Rumour has it that the new 'dash for the moon' is mainly due to exotic minerals found there from meteor strikes and such.

  4. Tbf Jimbo there is some glimpses of tech transfer. People forget stealth is an early 80's technology, which was an alrarming knowledge spike at the time. What the U.S. and Russia have gleaned in more recent years is akin to magic if we were ever to come across it.
  5. But you assured me elsewhere she's gone. Oh, she is. Doesn't stop her trying though. Phew!
  6. Interesting point. What kind of tech? I'm not entirely sure, but if we could be visited by aliens, some form of better aircraft, development of everyday use vehicles. I mean ffs, you don't use oil to power a spacecraft, what do these aliens use? Actually, this has reminded me of something fantastic. I'll have to find it though. Stealth?
  7. I hope he doesn't succumb to a mysterious death. There will be more of this kind of thing as this year goes on I shouldn't wonder. Apparently the U.S. and U.K. govt are moving toward full disclosure by 2010!
  8. Good point regarding familiarisation of new artists.
  9. I pay for the music when I pay for a ticket to see it performed. Funny someone should mention Bob Dylan. A man who's barely had a break in touring for 50 years. He's a professional musician who makes a living playing to audiences. I think CD sales should be incidental to the artists compulsion to create and have their 'product' heard. There's different categories though. Stars like Lars Ulrich who do a 20 night tour every 4 years and whine that their multi-million pound lifestyle isn't enough and they want the genuine working man to cough up £12 for an item that costs pennies to produce so he can get his £1 cut from each of the millions of sales it racks up on the back of a multi-million pound blanket advertising campaign that quashes diversity in music. Then there's up and comers who probably deserve a bit more recognition than they're getting. To them I'd say that Time Warner are their biggest enemy, exactly because of the type of promotion described above. Don't you think on a level playing field the most talented performers will make a living? Rather than A&R men deciding what X-factor Barbie doll should be pushed and what shouldn't? Theatrical independent cinema is already as good as dead over here given that the people at City Screen provide every independent cinema in the country with THEIR choices of which films will get limited distribution (more specifically, the final say rests with a single person, programming director Clare Binns). Do you think any film that hasn't had a cinematic run at the whim of this one person has a chance of getting a DVD release? Most 'Independent' film that does get shown is backed by a house within a conglomerate studio such as Warner Village or even Miramax (Disney owned). At least the internet allows any film maker to get anything out there. By the way, I've bought over 500 CD's (over about 15 years that averages more than one a fortnight I think) and had as many DVD's (which I'm gladly starting to replace with high definition versions so they can rake it in again off me). I've got binbags full of the sodding things.
  10. O'Neil reveals Liverpool don't have the ready cash to buy Barry and have stalled the deal till they sell.
  11. But you assured me elsewhere she's gone.
  12. Hughes? It depends what he does at City I guess. O'Neil is a strange guy, but he does seem to be able to do pretty well wherever he goes. Certainly a mythology around him. Never takes training, teamsheet 10 min before kick off...etc... Clough?? He's great when he verbally savages one of his own players for some completely innocuous comment that the interviewer presents in a slightly out of context way. Somehow it must work though. Quite peculiar how he didn't sign a right back last year and they didn't really have one either.
  13. Sima dishing out slaps without breaking sweat. Nice.
  14. Where's Robertson working now? With O'Neil? Isn't he MON's numero dos? Cloughie's fav player. Apparently Cloughie used to almost ignore MON totally and lavish Rob with praise.

  16. No offence Billy but you think Arsenal fans are knowledgeable? Most don't know football even existed prior to 2000. Maybe it just because they agree blindly with the tripe you lot feed them on a daily basis. Where as we pull you up on what your peddling. The self proclaimed "best fans in the world". Toot toot, sponge fingers, jester hats and airhorns all round. What the fuck are you on about now? I lived in north west London between 98 and 07 and made a lot of friends, mostly arsenal, all in their late 30's early 40's. The Spurs fans i met all turned into wankers when it came to football. Never liked them long before i met the boring juvenile types on football forums. One was called Gerald and was a lanky, sneering twat. Its not you is it?
  17. I watch our Sky/Setanta games in a Millwall pub. (Knuckle-)cracking atmosphere. I take my hat off to you Sir! The other thing about them is their unpredictability. I remember them sticking up for a lone black girl getting grief on a bus from some wasters who were sharply made aware of the fact that they should value all that goes with remaing conscious for the rest of the journey.
