It was the same with Fallujah and the Americans used banned weapons. Israel in Gaza

Yeah cause they invaded/destabalised/re-invaded/proxy fought 70 countries in 50 years. Mate there is no comparison. America has 737 bases on foreign soil. It's military budget is bigger than the whole planet combined. You might as well move to Brighton. Yeah it's all about the civilians now, it didn't seem to be when ISIS were winning and Al Nusra were eating hearts and NATO were bombing (mainly Syrian infrastructure yet not the oilfields) and Turkey were buying ISIS oil. The West are winning its about dictators and regimes the West or their proxies start losing its about civilians. It's such a tedious and boring old playbook yet people don't seem to have enough critical distance to it. Civilians have been suffering since day one and from both sides.
-
Busy saving the West from itself as it did in WW2. Without Russian air power the ISIS flag would be flying in Damascus today.

First there will be heated chit chat in the commons, then the public will be hosed down with further 'bad news' about Brexit and then at some point they will allow a vote on it. The Tories don't have the leadership in place and the rest of the country are already ready to take anything the EU offers. I have been absolutely certain from day one that the establishment will intervene on this and I bet there will be a vote on any new treaty. It will be the softest of Brexit one can imagine. The forces that are being brought to bear on this rogue Island will double as we move forward. Worry about UKIP is gonna be the smallest of issues.
-
It begins. Dark forces break cover.

If there was a civil war the tofu eating, book reading, pc, veggie, mint tea drinking, Guardian reading, rare African ethnic music listening, LGBT lovin, Hackney fancying, green issue bothering will be first up against the wall.

I see you have secretly been learning at the feet of the master.

Yeah they've probably been spending more time and resources on NAFTA and TTIP and how to get South American labour via Mexico into the States. Or maybe they have taken umbridge at the EU for going after Google, Apple, Amazon and their offshore funds. Power only has one default position - more power. The world financial system is locked into globalization - the banks, IMF, hedge funds and multi-nationals. America and Obama have it as a cornerstone to increase American trade abroad (there has been some backtracking even from Clinton) but she will do what Goldman Sachs want. A couple of million raised by Tory Brexiters is like grains of sand on a beach compared to what is postioned against them.
-
You'll have to re-write history if you want to convince me that the Tory party isn't pro-globalism.
-
As Chez inferred the current hard line is due to keeping the party together it won't be so down the road when greater realities start to bite and the grandees go to work on the nutters within the party. They have started re-positioning themselves to cover the UKIP flank ie the lurch to the right. Not having to worry about Labour they can vacate the center as Labour have moved to the left. The real power in the Tory party are their business and City donors these will not allow a hard Brexit. You can see they have started kicking off already. A party without money is a dead party. UKIP have one seat (after all that momentum they had) they're not about to destroy the Tory party, they are more likely to continue taking working class votes from Labour. May will continue to pay lip services to Brexit but there is no will in the establishment to take on Europe as there is no will in Europe to take on the UK (grand standing aside). If Le Pen wins in France you'll see a hard Frexit which will make our stuff look like childsplay.
-
Yup. Continued in the hard line party conference speeches as I said earlier.
-
Looking into that will report back. As always it is likely to not be what it says on the tin.
-
When I was being grilled the other night at a VIP party with the local business elite I found myself going on about the housing, schools, NHS, wage pressure to defend Brexit.
-
Yeah agree this will be the main battleground. It's why the Tories are busy rebranding as 'the workers party'.
-
3% are long term the other 2% come and go. Either way the numbers aren't big.

MP's.

The vast maj of the Tories love the EU. EU nationals in the UK is about 3% - 90% of whom are working and contributing to the economy. It being the first conference after the vote the Tories have and eye on Ukip and the Brexit vote and the speeches were tailored to this. Over the next 3 years a lot of this momentum will dissipate as various small shocks (like the pound) will make the flock nervous. The appetite for hard Brexit will be a distant memory. We'll get free trade within the single market and there will be some technical compromise around immigration (maybe the A8 - 7 years block we never activated under Blair). We will activate the rules Germany and Norway have with reg to EU citizens claiming (Germany was taken to ECHR remember) 3 months no job kicked out etc...The biggest draw has been free healthcare and tax credits - this could be amended as well and all withing EU law. The EU will still be getting our money as France and Germany won't want to pick up the shortfall or lose their trade with us. The pound will jump back up. Brexit happened because ALL our politicians kept it secret that they were relying on immigration to bolster the economy and all that stuff they said about bringing it down were lies.

There will be no hard Brexit.
