Total catastrophe, probably get less hassle hanging the messiah. (Pun yes).

What kind of sadist would act like this? It's clear they're panicked and not sure how to proceed. Not an easy one.

400/500 outside SJP, some small fires.

I just came in to post this as i've just been talking to our kid about it and he reminded me of my words. My first reaction to the Keegan appointment was a negative one as it seemed like Ashley had worked out how to turn the negative feeling around and the prospect of people not re-newing (a problem that still apparently materialised). My cynical perspective at the time was that Keegan was a stop-gap to ensure season tickets sales for the following season would be buoyed amidst re-newed optimism (the 3 year deal can be looked at even more cynically under this light). He could get the fans behind the club and gain some momentum until he found the man he really wanted for the job. If they didnt want him in the long-term, then is appointment made sense as of all the characters in modern football, he is the one you know would walk away when the boardroom politics were set against him. Its on NO somewhere. I dont know though, its far too cut-throat to be true. I remember reading it, very insightful at the time, if a touch circumspect (being polite). But you see none of us want to believe that those who scheme against us can win.

Ashley, Wise and Llambias leaving SJP like the Fall of Saigon?
-
Not if a custodian buys the club and sells it back to the fans over a period of time. It's the way I'd pitch it anyway. Not easy to find someone like that granted.
-
I think it was Chez who said very early on that KK had been hired as a distraction and a showpiece type appointment to keep the fans quiet (while he got on with his tricks). Or something like that.
-
Give it to them straight. Tell them the ridding of KK is unforgivable and that is all the owners bridges burnt in one go. He should sell.

I've smoked 2 fukin packets of ciggies.
-
No. They just don't really know what to do.
-
It's simple they're shitting it. Ashley will need a helicopter to get out alive.
-
I think they might actually spin this the other way and put it all on Ashley because I don't think he's terribly well liked on Fleet Street. They're gonna crucify Ashley. First rule of writing emotional pieces is to side with the majority.
-
Well I think it's safe to say he never intended to invest 'his' money in the club and was trying to move toward making the club function as a viable business in it's own right (something which is fine on a level playing field but cloud cuckoo land when your competitors are speculating like wild). He has himself been quoted from time to time making remarks about "You can't make money from Newcastle" etc..But I think deep down that was always his key motivation...I tend to think he got involved in football in a rush without properly examining the core nature of the business. He has been hiding behind the figure of Keegan and he and his cohorts and minions have continued to work away to their own agenda leaving KK out front to field the press, with little information (it seems) about what was really going on.

You've never spoken a mackem, you've never known a mackem, you don't know the difference between a mackem accent and a geordie accent, the question is why the fuck do you care what the mackems think, in your Tower Hamlets tenement?

KK as noble Caesar and Wise as treacherous Cassius. Et tu Fat Mike!

I posted somewhere back in Jan, that in the context of how drama's are written, often the returning of a hero to a place of former glory is setting the scene for a tragedy.

It can be done and one day it will HAVE to be done.

The last time I sacked someone it took ages. Union representation etc etc etc. My gut instinct is that KK has not gone. Well the last time it happened in mine they were off the premises 5 minutes later, mind you i work for a US firm with different labour contracts. I imagine NUFC isnt somewhere with manager contracts that mean they cant be sacked pretty easily. Its a football club not a car factory. Negotiating a severance package possibly? More like gagging money.

One of my goals in life is finding us the right investor.
