  1. You reckon Keegan was okish with Wise's role at first but Wise abused his position? Sounds plausible No. He was happy with someone in that role but not Wise. There is quite a wide consensus on this.
  2. The only goal should be to get Ashley out, if there are ways pressure can be sustained with minimal impact on the players that would be the way.
  3. Park Life

    Shearer

He will not take the job.
  4. Sounds very plausable the story doesnt ring quite true with the official line of a letter being sent A letter will alsways be sent, less misunderstanding for constuctive dismissal Don't know about the Pigfucker stuff but there have been too many rumours regarding players for sale for there not to be some truth in it.
  5. Bollocks. He stood up for his principles, and I bet he's fucking gutted tonight just like the rest of us. Could you stomach Dennis Wise telling you who you're getting as your next signing, cos I fucking couldn't. And have those signings been so bad? When the manager feels so strongly that he is being undermined that he has to leave, then I think there's something wrong. I can't believe you're suggesting that he should have just went along with it. The issue is not how good or bad the players are, the issue is that Keegan has been lied to and undermined, and for that he has walked. He should no more have put up with that than the next bloke should. It's clear there is something seriously wrong with the workings behind the scenes.
  6. This whole saga has been planned to perfection, international week, just after the transfer window etc. I would put money on a new manager being at the club within 7 days - a spanish one at that. I said that somewhere earlier. I haven't got the energy left for a rant.
  7. aye. Moaned like fuck to get rid of them, and now they got what they want, and someone who "runs the clbu like a business" to go with it, still moaning. Haven;t bought it for yonks and don't intend to either. The mag >>>>> True Faith. By miles. I thought it was established by Adults, was decent for a while and these days it's run by illiterate teenagers with a penchant for 80's music.
  8. If they go down that option i think there will be mutiny no matter what they do. Even the arrival of Mourinho probably won't mask the bitter discontent among the fans. If we look at it subjectively, the sacking of Big Sam was dodgy - nothing was really said about it though because 1) in general he wasn't well liked and 2) they replaced him with Keegan. They pulled the ultimate master-stroke 8 months ago in appeasing the fans by re-appointing the Messiah - quite how they managed to persuade him to come out of retirement deserves praise as it is! If he leaves however, they've played the ultimate faux pas and I don't think it matters what they do to try and patch it up, the fans will never be on-side with them again. He literally does have them by the balls and I pray to fucking god they don't play arrogant. It always ends up like this, some fat bloke with money v the people. My main worry is Stevie as he hasn't cut loose in this thread yet...I can see him on 10 bottles of dog outside SJP with a shotgun under his arm. Two problems solved in one Hopefully he'll get a couple of well aimed rounds off.

  10. I don't think we've seen the half of it yet. Agreed. Still level 2 imo.
  11. Of course they don't people are just trying to avoid thinking about the inevitable.
  12. Council get in on the act Newcastle councillors last night (Wednesday September 3 2008) unanimously passed a notice motion calling for an end to the ongoing uncertainty over the position of Kevin Keegan as manager of Newcastle United. There was cross-party support for a notice of motion, tabled by Councillor Nick Forbes, which stated: “Council notes the continued confusion over Kevin Keegan’s position at Newcastle United. “Council recognises the widespread public support for Kevin Keegan, and knows how much he means to Newcastle United fans. Council believes that he is an asset to the club, the city and the wider community and expresses its support for his continuation in the role of manager. “Council regrets the adverse publicity being caused as a result of the current situation and urges Newcastle United (which has been awarded freedom of the city by the council) and Kevin Keegan to come to a mutually acceptable agreement which will allow Mr Keegan to remain in post and manage the team effectively.” Coun Nick Forbes, Leader of the Labour group, who proposed the motion, said: “Kevin Keegan is an asset to the club, to the city and the wider community. The whole council is united in hoping that both parties will come to a mutually acceptable agreement to allow him to stay in post and have freedom to manage the team effectively.” Coun David Faulkner, Deputy Leader of Newcastle City Council and Executive Member for Policy Development and Co-ordination, who seconded the motion, said: “This is an issue that is more than just a contractual issue between employer and employee. Because of the special place of Newcastle United in our community, it affects the reputation of the club and to an extent the city. We hope that it can be resolved soon and that Kevin Keegan stays, with his position both clarified and enhanced.” Cut the water and gas and play loud music all night into the boardroom.
  13. Barbados or the U.S. apparently. My bet is he's been on fantasy island for about a week. He's got the little butler fella running things at our place as DoF I'll set em up.
  14. So you reckon Ashers has been away for the whole of Aug and Sept and Wisey has been ordering double portions of fish and chips?

  16. Couldn't think of a worse person for the job given Sam's over-generous belief in his own importance and ability. Think of all the ice cubes that big fridge thing could have made.
  17. Might have been an idea to move Sam upstairs with all his backup ideas for players. At least KK would have had someone to touch base with. *Tin hat ready*
