  1. To be unfair Parky's only interest in the club is as a tv soap opera. Tbf to me I make phone calls nearly every day on behalf of NUSC, one of which resulted in the Telegraph article. This is off my own back and at my own expense. I think there are always going to be differences in the beginning but over time we will have a good organisation which we can all be proud of I have no doubts. Well if someone so integral didn't know the thing was open for membership what hope does it have? I'm not integral to anything. I do stuff off my own back.
  2. Thanks for your comments. Very helpful. As I said earlier I'm waiting to see how things develop over 6 months or so before criticising anyone.

  4. That's an interesting take, but as the NUSC seems primarily concerned with Ashley leaving at all costs I doubt they will be prepared to even contemplate entering a debate with Ashley's people. Parky's attutude of "fuck the club" in the short term is a good example of this thinking. It's a recipe for relegation if you ask me. If the club isn't sold, in my view it would be constructive for the NUSC to open a sensible dialogue with the current owners. If only to air complaints. It's not my attitude at all, it is the underlying concept in writing to the sponsors taken from the NUSC text. I was just highlighting what this kind of route entails, which might include some suffering on our/clubs part. Not my idea, just aware where peaspud etc are coming from.
  5. Indeed... so they will withdraw their money making us an even less attractive proposition. We're not an attractive proposition full stop. The price is too high and we have a shit squad. The club isn't worth anymore than 240m. So why put us in a worse position simply because several people want things moving along more quickly? This 'association' is supposed to be conveying the opinions of the fans who have shown an interest in joining. I can't speak for everyone else, but I for one have not been canvassed on anything. This gathering has great potential but this statement is an awful start. I agree with Alex as well in that the most concerning aspect is that it would appear that the issues that have been raised in this thread have been dismissed outright by someone who would appear to be a part of the guys who are running the show. Not good... not good at all. Not disagreeing with anything you say as it is mostly sensible and valid. In an ideal world the members need to feel they have a say, but they also need to realise that this 'say' can only ever be in the broad strokes, it will be impossible to consult on every move or every strategy, that is where good leadership need to explain and move forward, without getting bogged down in heavy debate on every move. I have to disagree on the speed issue, the quicker Ashley is out the better. Personally I'm resisting 'judging' the NUSC set up until they have found their feet...say 6 months.

  7. IMO the writing to sponsors issue which is causing rumblings in the ranks is a good move. This is not just about the MA reign, it puts down a marker to others that we are serious. In saying that it should also be made clear that we are approachable and able to work with new owners, I think the statement covers that as well. This was never going to be easy and it might hurt us with regard to our feelings for what is good for the club, but in the short term we are going to have to grin and bear it. As it stands the club is just an asset to MA....We need to show we will hurt 'his' asset.
  8. Unless Ashley calls our bluff. Because that's what it is. If he doesn't sell there's very little we can do unless we go the whole hog and permanently fuck the club. Lose-lose situation. I don't think he really wants to sell. We might have to initially 'fuck the club' to win. How exactly does that work though? No idea. But unless Ashley realises we will 'go the extra mile' he is going nowhere.

  10. I see people's reservations regarding the writing to sponsors, but imo it is tactically sound.
  11. Good post. Charismatic dictatorship is the way forward.
  12. Have you sent your tenner yet? Didn't realise it was possible yet... Will do asap....
  13. Yes, but the organisation had a hundred odd years of history. It needed to change. NUSC isn't even off the ground yet. There should be some kind of agm soon where people who are able can turn up and vote on stuff. People also have to accept they won't be able to be canvassed on absolutely everything. Organisations like this are always a mixed bag and they won't be able to get everything right and there will be mistakes, but people need to bear in mind the greater good.
  14. Old Labour. The vanguard will always be weeks ahead of the rank and file.
  15. But hes the only one running into blind alleys so it makes him good compared to Butt, Geremi etc... If they run they're good.
  16. You know damn well what I meant - the good stuff not how it depressingly really works
  17. Modern western cultural morality??
  18. Funny you should say that because I was amazed at the amount of 9/11 type imagery it has. Zod was clearly a prediction of Bin Laden to come. Look at the twin towers burn on the movie poster. The masters are from the future.
  19. Wenger got lucky cause he speaks French. No mystery. It's a lot of black council estate kids who are estranged. Wenger calls them late at night.
  20. Basically Zoggy is the most naturally talented player we have.
