  1. Might be an idea to show some of our players their stats on FM.
  2. This still seems to be rumbling on... "Real Mallorca are set to hold Newcastle to ransom for £11.75m of the confusing transfer of Jonas Gutierrez, whilst Greek starlet Kryiakos Papadopoulos has been linked with a move to St James' Park... Whether it's for the current St James' Park regime or the new one, Newcastle United are set to have a headache over Jonas Gutierrez's controversial switch from Real Mallorca. The acquisition of the exciting Argentine has been one of the few recent positives for the disgruntled Toon faithful, but even that seems to have gone wrong. The man with the Spiderman mask has spun himself a confusing web after seemingly invoking FIFA's Article 17 - the Webster clause - to get himself out of his Barralets contract. Mallorca chiefs are still raging over the free transfer and The Sun reports that a Spanish judge will decide in February whether or not United will have to fork out up to £11.75 million for the 25-year-old hitman. RCD Mallorca lawyer Vicente Morales claimed: “Newcastle are clearly liable in this matter. They signed Jonas without paying a euro, but the Argentinian was still under contract."
  3. We wait for the one they call NE7.
  4. The very fact ethnicity is discussed at all in connection with Obama's candidacy/Presidency speaks for itself tbh. Sorry if he wasn't picking cotton on a Mississippi plantation up until last year, Fop.
  5. This is the worry. Have we played Stoke and WBA away yet?
  6. No way Fulham. Firing on all cylinders with baldy up front now. I think it's a false hope for them. Fully expect them to crash and burn..... Internet £10?
  7. We need to be on 25-28 points by end of Jan or we're going to be shitting it every game.
  8. No way Fulham. Firing on all cylinders with baldy up front now.
  9. Actually I was thinking today how it could easily go wrong for the likes of Blackburn and West Ham.
  10. It's often a case of lies, damn lies and stats with some of the stuff you post (I think that's deliberate and tongue-in-cheek on you part anyway a lot of the time) but that is quite telling imo. If could transplant Guti's legs onto Geriatric... Or Geremi's mind onto Guti we'd have some player.
  11. You're probably right tbf. I think my frustration with Jonas is more borne out the first goal on Saturday where he could and should have done a lot more. The lad has shown some decent touches and, like you say, is still adjusting and he got that shoulder injury on international duty on top of that. As for Collocini, he's looked alright as well. He does look like he's not great in the air though for a PL central defender. More of a sweeper who needs a big lad alongside him-type of player, as I've said all along. The fans aren't getting on either players' back at the games though. Agree about Collo, needs a big oaf next to him (like Faye?)....
  12. Haven't you heard? We are deluded and fickle. Wtf! I didn't even mention he 'lopes' like an new born Bambi.
  13. So you reckon Jonas will magically be able to shoot in a few weeks?
  14. How have we ended up with the only Argentinian midfielder in the world who can't shoot and the only Arg def who can't head?
  15. The ref in the last post was the quizz question I changed the ans to at the last minute after we had intially put the correct ans Pacific....Cost us 3rd place. Meenzer and his friend left about 11.00 (something about trains and hotels) I stayed till 2.00.
  16. Happy deepest ocean to you Sir!!
  17. The Parky-O-Meter is expressing similar woes in the "Cut to the chase" thread. To be absolutely sure we need 10 wins I reckon.
  18. Relegation in previous seasons has largely been hysteria, this season though we're not just under-performing, the entire club is set up to implode at the slightest provocation. The only two rays of hope for us are really that someone might come in before January and that a lot of other people are dropping points too. But a bad (or just non-existent) January and we could be in a a terminal nose dive that nothing can stop. I don't agree it's been hysteria, the end points tally tells its own story. A couple of reversals (iirc a year ago one reversal, a loss at Sheffield united) would have seen us down. That's ridiculous for a club of our standing and support. This year things do seem to be stacked against us, I agree though that a takeover in january could save us however. But this will inevitably require a new manager and signings (especially if Owen leaves). We've never been close, we've always been going to get points (like last season many on here were saying we'd not pick up 10 points out of 30 in the last few games, we got 18 or so, and almost finished in the top half). The difference this season is that it's not going to take lots and injuries and some serious bad playing/luck to do it. This season we seem to be structurally aiming at relegation. Also it is noticeable that a lot of the 'weaker' sides are putting together little runs of points. Apart from WBA, there doesn't seem to be anybody you can say will go down. We'll need to get 42 points. I'd say we need 10 wins from somewhere. You don't agree with the bookies that Stoke are odds on for the drop? http://www.oddschecker.com/football/englis...ship/relegation The way Stoke are set up, we're more likely to go down imo. Paul Ince at 7/1 on next manager to go looks mighty generous...
