  1. Wonder if soon to appear in the workplace or the docs? Just a thought. Where have you been Bunting? To the toilet boss. Sure you haven't been outside smoking? No Boss! Just pop these electrodes on yer heed...There's a good chap.
  2. It's about not gibbing da license......Surely? SOON v SOON...."It's coming like a Ghost Town"...etc...etc..
  3. Currently 25 local councils use voice risk analysis technology to test if a claimant is providing false information but now the scheme will be roled out nationwide. In Harrow, north-west London, where the technology was first introduced, officials estimate they have saved £300,000 in three months by rejecting fraudulent claims." From the Telegraph.
  4. Haven't read all of it, but I guess it means some bands won't be given licenses to play live etc.. Wtf is going on??!!
  5. By News Editor Declan Wilkes "The Metropolitan Police are set to racially profile gig goers by asking promoters to fill out a form on what acts are playing and what ethnicities are likely to turn up. Form 696 compels licensees who want to hold live music events in 21 London Boroughs to report to the names, addresses, aliases and telephone numbers of performers, and controversially, the likely ethnicity of their audience. Failure to comply with the eight page long form could result in fines or imprisonment. It was quietly introduced in 2006 but is now coming under legal attack as its use may be extended. 'Targets black music' Fergal Sharkey, the head of umbrella group UK Music, which campaigns for musicians, is set to deliver a judicial review into whether local authorities can make the 'Risk Assessment' form part of a publicans licence application. In a letter to the former Met chief Sir Ian Blair he wrote: "In explicitly singling out performances and musical styles favoured by the black community we believe the use of Risk Assessment Form 696 is disproportionate, unacceptable and damaging to live music." The form has been referred to the Equality and Human Rights Commission as the initiative may unfairly target black and Asian youths. The form asks if the night is "bashment? R'n'B? Garage?" Another question states "Is there a particular ethnic group attending?" http://www.thelondondailynews.com/racially...out-p-1896.html
  6. Actually, the real value of the club is about 240m or was 4 months ago anyway. In the current market it wouldn't interest anybody (returns aren't good on footy if you want to compete as well). Whatever the actual value of the club isn't important imo, the real issue is that right now it can't really be sold cause people are hanging onto their money. This leads us to whether a very militant stance against MA right now makes any sense?
  7. Here be monsters I tell thee!
  8. Thank god for that. It seems the PM's agreed not to put it to referendum, which is a disgrace and goes against all values of democracy. I've been looking into it a bit and it is very dangerous to the powers of individual EU nations to control their own countries. MEP's are saying they have no access to 85% of the law making in Brussels which is done by closed committee.
  9. Am I right in thinking the Irish are the only ones who have held this back?
  10. When I used to work for a company I found them very depressing. That is all.
  11. Anyone know what is happening with this piece of garbage?
  12. Have you read through some of the threads on this page mate? Some yes mate I have - NUSC seem to think other wise, but I should have said some people have short memories. I don't recall appointing NUSC as my spokesman. So you must know that PP, Alex and others are no friend of MA?
  13. Have you read through some of the threads on this page mate?
  14. If you're paying for a service you haven't yet used I don't think it's as cut and dry as people are making out, I think you have to write a letter giving warning you are cancelling if you do it by the book. Because you haven't yet used ie been to future matches regardless of contract there are ways out of it.
  15. # It is incorrect that cancelling DD payments for next seasons tickets will go against you on your credit rating. That is absolute tosh - cancelling a credit agreement because of a reasonable cause would have to result in court action being taken by the supplier -NUFC -do you think for one minute that the club will take their own season ticket holders to court??? These are scare stories being used by the club. This man has taken all of the TV Money, season ticket money, and spent nothing. Newcastle will post an operating profit at the end of the season - this is fact. As regards who would be better, why doesn't Ashley come out and say that the bids made by XXX are insufficient due to my wanting £300M+ for a club which I paid £134M and then cancelled out a debt for £60M. all other debts have been transferred into loan payments due back to Ashley. If anybody can come up with a reasonable argument as to why this Fat Shyster deserves a profit on a club he has nearly destroyed feel free???? The gullibility factor of some fans??? is astonishing. Do you not realise what this man has done and why he is now using his puppet JFK to try and smooth the way. He has no feeligs whatsoever towards NUFC and is purely looking to make a profit at our expense. WAKE UP and see what this bastard has done Go on then fucking do it. cancel your DD and see what happens, we've taken advice on it from experts (including the three solicitors on the committee) and all advice says its a bad move to do it. No doubt however you would have blamed us if we had said it should be done. I havent got a fucking clue who you are but frankly mate if I was you Id take the time to research through my previous posts before even thinking about having the bastard fucking gall to accuse me of giving in to MA or being swayed by anything hes said. Firstly already cancelled any DD - I'll be over the moon to go to court over that. So you are a member of NUSC??? Are you happy with your chairman's spineless statement, because I think you'll find the answer as to which way the fans think if Fatboy shows up at St James. As for blaming NUSC - what a crock of shit- you don't represent the majority of the Newcastle fans - why the turnaround - has he now replied and invited you into the boardroom for a chat and a drink? As for accusing you about what - I don't have the time to research all your posts - get ower yersel you big tart. Answer the question as to why the turnaround/cave in/???????? We got a live one here!

WAKE UP and see what this bastard has done The second paragraph is expressing the same sentiments as plenty of other people on here (myself and Peasepud included) have done previously. Where we differ is over what is right for the club right now. It's not that we've been taken in by Ashley or anything but we have to move forward in the best way possible. There are threads on this very page where we've all shown anger and dissapointment, but at this point we need to all rally together.
  17. Don't be so patronising you prick. I'm fully aware of what a recession is, and the implications. JFK confirmed Ashley had an offer, but he didn;t think this was enough money, so don't come out with crap that no-one is buying. In this market is it not Ashley who is being unrealistic with his asking price which by all accounts is in excess of what he paid. The objective of cancelling the DD should indicate to Ashley that he is getting no more money from Newcastle supporters and trying to force his hand in selling the club. At this point anybody would be better than Ashley - who could have dome more harm than this fat fool and his midget sidekick???? Emotional and ill informed- what a load of patronising nonsense- is appeasement always the best way????? How has anything that I have said ill informed???? Do you know what price he was offered??????? There is nothing ill informed about trying to force the worst owner in the history of NUFC out of the club. How emotional was that response? Just what we dont need right now. You didnt state what the second part of the plan was, the bit about how the next owner would be better. Ill informed as you clearly dont appreciate the impact of the financial crisis on the attractiveness of the club to investors. How patronising yet again. Just what who doesn't need - we - do you speak for everybody???? Don't try and be clever you just look smug, patronising and ignorant. There have been two offers for the club - how do you know that the next owner would not be better -could they be worse??? Ill Informed ???? What part is ill informed - the fact is we have had offers so therefore the club is attractive at a certain price - do you know what that price is??? I know what it should be - certainly no more than what Ashley paid for it, and possibly less due to the financial crisis. Unless you know what the offers were, and I'm sure you don't then you are the one making ill informed assumptions without all the facts. The plan is quite clear - get rid of an owner who clearly does not care one jot for the club or the supporters. If his investment is not going to make a profit, then with a bit of luck he will cut his losses and leave. Passion and emotion are what loyal supporters feel for their club - you apparently do not - I feel sorry for you in that case. I'll deal with you later. Chex calmly raises the smugness stakes.

  19. It's common sense as I see it that the communication footprint needs to move to a fair and open discursive level, with regards to your last point. Personally (and I say this with great difficulty) we need to set aside (for now) our rancor towards Ashley. At this moment in time the club as an entity we all care about must come first. The olive branch is the correct move at this time. All other momentum (finance markets, SD etc) being against us. Anyway against all common perceptions the Parky radar (as usual) goes against common appearances...ie I think we will have a good second half. I can see your point regarding discussion, but Ashley has never discussed anything with the fans nor had the decency to let them know what the hell's going on. He never put any money in to the club as investment apart from what he'd spent buying the club. There was plenty of reports stating that he was putting no more moneyy into the club at the weekend and this is what he also said with his tissue of lies (statement after KK). I'm quite sure he still want's to sell the club, but only after making a profit, whereas what he has done to the club should earn him absolutely no profit whatsoever. The club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom - JFK (although he is likeable) should not be managing NUFC- This is Ashley's fault, he's had TV money, season ticket money, money from Milner without any sign of this supposed £20M he was prepared to put in to the club. As far as I can see, he's milked the club so far and the change in stance of the NUSC is appalling. All season ticket holders should cancel their DD's for future tickets, and then let's see if he'll take us all to court??? He has missold and misled all of the supporters of Newcastle, and the fact that any supporter would consider taking this shyster back is a disgrace. He has had offers for the club which were not sufficient money for him - hwy doesn't he come out and say how much he would accept??? If the offers were for £250M and the greedy fat prick want's closer to £350M, would you still want him back??? He's fucked up the club and deserves to be tarred and feathered and run out of town with his money back and no more. THE NUSC does not represent my views in any way whatsoever with this lets' talk attitude and it stinks of bending over and letting Fatboy and his cronies do what they want. Mike Ashley is a disgrace and a chancer I don't disagree. I essentially don't trust him either, but due to the fact he's going to be around for the foreseeable future I see no choice but to offer dialogue. A little good is better than no good at all. I really am the last person who wants to give him a chance, but there is big problems coming in football and all our lives....Best try and pull together imo.
  20. I have a feeling this will hurt clubs with huge debt profiles ie the top four. Financial instruments and hedging against debt burdens will fail in the early part of the new year according to market insiders. The stop gap Govt tranches of liquidity won't hold beyond April imo.

  22. Klinsmann: financial crisis will hit football The Associated PressPublished: December 2, 2008 FRANKFURT, Germany: Bayern Munich coach Juergen Klinsmann believes the financial meltdown will soon hit football, with players' salaries and transfer fees set to plunge. "The financial crisis will really hit football over the next few months," Klinsmann said in an interview with German news agency DPA published Tuesday. "There will be a redefinition of the market ... concerning transfers and salaries," the former Germany coach said. "There will be a new situation. Players whose transfers in January are now unthinkable because they would cost €20 million ($25.22 million) or €30 million, could be available in June suddenly for much less," Klinsmann said. While he did not expect a complete collapse in salaries, Klinsmann said more and more clubs would be forced to rethink their wages, adding that it will be a "tense process." Today in Sports Ronaldo wins European Balon D'Or Giving a stadium a bad name Downturn poses tricky problems for top clubs There were already signs that the crisis could be hitting England, "where there are big question marks concerning owners and investors," he said." http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/12/02/...n-Klinsmann.php Even the world markets have decided to go belly up just as we need good news.
