via relegation. Inevitable, when Shepherd has littered the club with overpaid SHITE that we couldn't move on because they were too happy here on their astronomical wages, TBH Alan Smith.

Common sense at last. I would be interested if PP would link to these so called statements saying we were going to buy young future stars and then sell them when they come good. I can't recall it. Your selective memory is unlikely to tbf. I'll hunt them out but they refer to the purchasing criteria that Llambias drew up which clearly referred to future resale value.
-
That may be your perception however it doesnt fit in with the statements made previously by the club. As Ive said earlier you cant impose a tight wage cap and expect to hold onto players that other clubs are valuing at £20m. That is why we would sell him.
-
precisely. Which method are you two referring to? The club is not being run by the same methods this season compared to last season. Last season was different to the season before. I dont see any method which is consistent across the last 3 seasons. There is an offer of a 100 quid bet for charity on the table for anyone who wants to claim Carroll will be sold this window. I would take the bet however theres too many factors. My logic on it is that if a bid of £20m was to come in for Carroll then Ashley would accept it. Trouble with betting on that is I lose should no bid come in, Carroll breaks his leg, the club is sold, Redknapp has a heart attack etc etc

We've surpassed and discarded that model. Next step, to appoint Wenger. ahah this also fits in with the stadium naming rights arsenal@St James Park

I assume we've now dropped the Villa model then?

Coffee machines at work have gone from 40p to 45p due to the VAT increase. Their argument? the machines wont accept anything smaller than a 5p so they have to increase by that.

And this is where the model we are running falls down and although Im the first to slag off the things Ashley does even I acknowledge it makes good financial sense to run a club with a defined financial structure. However once a player is wanted by another club who can offer the chance of playing at the highest level and increase your England prospects then their head is rightly turned. That club will offer much higher wages than we can and the only chance you have of holding onto the player is exceed their offer and show some ambition. The players agent wil push both clubs to squeeze as much as possible out of them, thats what they are there to do and players loyalty doesnt come into it. If you stick to a rigid pay scale then you cant hold your best players, if you deviate from that scale to a great extent then the foundations of the plan crumble. If all the team are restricted to a maximum of say £50k p/w and then we hold onto Carroll by paying him £100k then pretty soon the likes of Barfa, Barton etc will come knocking looking for increased contracts, after all its them that provide the balls that get Carroll the goals. If a club has no major plan to get into the upper reaches of the Premiership and compete at the top level then they cannot expect to hold onto their really talented players. Faced with the option of trebling Carrolls wages (and then having the knock on effect to other players) or selling him and getting in £20m then I know which one MA will opt for and if Im being totally honest I cant blame him, what I cant stomach though is the belief that this is the general aim of the club overall. Take in young talent while its still a gamble as to how good they'll be, develop them and sell on for a profit to a club who'll link them with players of the same quality and use them to gain Champions League status. Where I differ with MA is in the model itself, becoming a feeder club to increase the profitability of the club is not the model I want us to have and I will argue til Im blue in the face that a change of direction coupled with proper running of the club would increase the profitability way more than this method.

I find myself being cynical with everything that happens. Walking back to the car tonight and I was thinking the fat man will find it easier to sell Carroll with a 5-0 win and a starting debut hat trick. It will take a good couple of seasons before I start to believe he has the clubs interests at heart.

Do you ? Shame about the Howlett, good riddance like but my uncle took me in there when I was about 17, sat with him and his mates watching them play bloody dominoes all night. I do aye whenever I get a ticket, which can be quite often. Normally sit at the back on the groundfloor. It's never really heaving, cheap & close enough too. I meant the Denton, but not on match day, just regularly. It was my local during the 70's and early 80's before I moved away, been in a few times lately. I lived in Denton Burn during that time.

tbf even if they do its still good business and one that Id rather we did than not buy him at all. The problem we have is that a player of his potential will not want to stay at a club that doesnt match his ability. The kid clearly has what it takes to play in the CL and he'll want to do that, as will Carroll and any other youngster with the necessary ability.

Tw big names going out and about three more players coming in either as part of the sale of aforementioned players or as loan deals/ cheap imports from lower leagues.

After the wistam game. They hold these announcements back as potential 'water calmers' if results go against the team to try and off-set the rage from the riff raff. I could, of course, be wrong?? Waiting until Carroll is shipped out so it can be seen that the funds from Carroll partly funded this deal. And to "soften the blow".
-
I would too but this is more than just the sale of a player, its a statement of intent (or rather confirmation of lack of it). The fact we're willing to sell our most valuable home grown talent at the first sign of a big offer shows we have no ambition at all. As LM has said many a time, if people are happy to become a Wigan, expecting nothing more than a relegation battle season after season and living for the chance of a giant killing once in a while (we may also have to revise our classification of "giant" to achieve that) then good for them, its not what I got life membership for. If we do sell though then please let it be in the Summer after CT has bought his ST on the back of the "most exciting team since the entertainers" shite.

Whey aye, course he is.

Who feels passionately enough about this to jack it next season?

I think you'll find that was a stone on the conservatory roof. Fish has a terrible aim like.

Still seething In a thread where a poll suggest fans will be leaving in droves, Im fairweather for thinking of going back. Classic do you understand "things"? You're "fairweather" because when the weather wasn't fair, you left. Now the weather is sufficiently fair for you to return, you are considering it... the very definition of "fair weather" Honestly, it's like trying to explain advanced linguistic concepts using a model of Holly Willoughby and a cheese grater. As Stevie would say, "Pipe down you mug!" Jacked his ST in when things started to go wrong, then went to the last game of the Championship season and now is thinking of starting again when we "get the most exciting side since the entertainers", Hopefully he'll buy his ticket early to "beat the rush" then see what happens in the transfer window. Although its helped make my mind up, theres a 2 in 50,000 chance I'll have CT next to me. I dont like those odds. -
Fuck her. Find some slutty friend and bang her senseless. Or if you live in a uni town, get to a nightclub and take home a couple of foreign students. She wanted the same. You're 22, I couldn't pull a piece of string at that age. I'm now 29, and have been with my wife for nearly 5 years. Have some pride, and do not crawl back. If she wants you back, manipulate her, break her back doors in and then tell her it isn't working out. Textbook Claire Rayner tbh
