  1. For the hassles you have with travel and the number of games you end up missing because of rescheduling etc surely its time to give up the ST and just buy tickets as and when?
  2. seriously kidda, give your head a shake!
  3. I would imagine he'll be recalled and immediately slap in a transfer request. Theres no way hes going to accept playing second string when he could be looking at Champions League games instead.
  4. The club will "consider it" and then announce that its not fair on those that currently sit in L4/ Leazes/ Gallowgate/ any other part of the ground to have the Singing section forced on them or to make them move seats and for that reason they cannot facilitate a move.
  5. He openly admits he doesnt watch any other football other than the Toon (dont laugh) so dont hold your breath . "While you're there though mate, do you know any Spanish left backs?"
  6. Ive still got an original 3G which has done me proud for over 3 years now but I have to say its seriously doing my napper in now. It hangs, crashes and at times goes so slowly. I think Facebook screwed my Camera Roll and not only deleted everything in there but it now doesnt save to the roll, tells you it has but you go in and theres nowt there. Might have to try an android.
  7. Do you reckon Ashley and Llambias are signing players based on a game of Scrabble? "I've got Aliadière for 10 Mike" "Fuck that kidda Ive just found Shefki Kuqi for 33 but its on a triple word, thats 99 my son, now get him signed up!!"
  8. May be interested in the tickets Alan but not the bus. I'll see who wants to go first. I'l give you £60 for the 2 tickets. I have paypal or can pay via online banking. Let me know. thanks 32 x 2 = 64???? whats this like friggin eBay?
  9. Dont bring facts and stats into it man, we all know they're no good in a baseless argument.
  10. If you qualified, many of L7 are just glory hunters, only here for the Premiership. [/lightsbluetouchpaperandruns] On the subject of keeping the same price for 10 years, what is the current cost to go to a Blue Square game? We'll have the most expensive tickets in non-league history
  11. How could they stop that though? They could easily have a rule that says "no more than x number relocate from L7 to each of the different areas". Once that numbers filled they simply tell the remaining requestors that their chosen seat's not available". On that logic, you'd be better off not relocating as such but simply purchasing a new ST from scratch so they have less chance of spotting this or all agreeing not to renew and then using flash mob style tactics, moving from area to area on a game by game basis.
  12. This is how the Jonas thing started.
  13. seriously man, how can we be linked with the likes of him and Alialialialialialiaaliia Gerry when we've loaned out Xisco, I find it impossible to believe that its not worth our while pulling him and/or Routledge back in.
  14. In what way do you think his game is improving? I know he does the ball guard better than anyone, but when does he ever get telling tackles in? Look at the Arsenal second half, Simpson was all over the box making last minute sliding tackles. Re your second paragraph, that was part of my main point. Once bitten and all that. If a Barton type player was ahead of him who didnt lose possession then I think Enrique would be magnificent not only with bye line crosses, but also with a few goals. He doesn't have to make last ditch tackles because he reads the game that well and is strong and quick enough to get the ball with no fuss. How do you think that's a bad thing? You couldnt make it up man. You're fighting a losing battle trying to argue football with CT
  15. Ahhhh that explains his "Carroll is shite" thread from December.
  16. I think you'll be hard pushed to get any of those to do that though, I know I wouldnt be happy if nufc.com suddenly decided my seat as being designated for new people. I know thats not what you're meaning btw but the fanzines etc would technically be no better than the club if they decided to change what happens where you sit. For that reason you'll not get any backing from the main players (I could imagine Mick Martin being happy to stick his head over the parapet and promote it in TF however) and definitely not NUST (but saying that you probably wouldnt get a statement from them even if the club advocated ritually sacrificing sections of the ground to Ashley on a match by match basis). Another thing to be aware of, if this becomes common knowledge that you're moving the section to another area then the club will do whatever it can to block that. We all know that the real reason is to silence the fans so they'll do whatever they can to keep that going.
  17. tbf you werent allowed to stand in L7
  18. It all depends on renewals though, when they say you'll have priority it still has to be between renewals and going out for general sale so the only way round this I think is for everyone who wants to be part of it to wait and see whats available. That may mean one of the corners, it may mean the back of the Gallowgate but wherever it is it needs to have a good number of free seats together.
  19. I fully accept that football has fundamentally changed and irreversibly so - I agree with SBTP that families per se is good for the game but over-focusing on them is a mistake in my view. This isn't all just about atmosphere - its about footballs place in the community as an outlet for tribalism and yes some aggression. I think claiming we're beyond the need for that outlet is naive. I think thats a very valid point but one which no politician or public figure related to football would want to come out and say, people always link tribalism with the hooligan aspect rather than it simply being pride in your club, allegiance to the badge etc. Getting rid of the singing section in itself is a disgrace but replacing it with Students and the like when its right next door to the most vocal and hostile element of the ground is a mistake of the highest order. Everyone in any football ground bases the atmosphere on what they themselves hear. From my seat in NE Corner (sarnies, flask and blanket optional) I believe that the Singing corner is doing a very good job, I may disagree with half the stuff thats sung but thats a different matter. I couldnt understand how Philip Craig (toontastic on twitter) who sits in the Leazes could have a different view. Someone in Gallowgate will probably not have such a view because from there they themselves cant be heard over the sound of the Gallowgate and corners. What is probably missed though is the fact that at least some of the time, the chants and songs from everywhere else in the ground are as a result of the same thing starting in L7. They are the catalyst, theyre the ones that generally get it going and they're the ones that keep it going regardless of the score. The same thing but tenfold is appropriate to the away fans, they hear those near them. If theres nothing going on but a few kids singing Toon Toon and some students winging about the fact choice of real ales in the concourse then we'll be a laughing stock. I said this on twitter and I think it needs to be organised and done, L7 should spend the next home game sat in their seats watching the game, no songs, no chants, no banter with the away fans. Give the rest of the ground a taste of just what it will be like when this happens.
  20. Eh? that makes no sense at all, two of my mates in the Gallowgate and they both pay £510 I was in North East Corner and it was just under £500. Theres nothing in the blurb that states the prices will be £525 and £515 respectively. The stuff in the Ronnie stated that STs will price from £558 As for those fans on twitter saying moving the singing corner will have no effect on atmosphere then they must be on something.
  21. I see Mr Barnes as more of a roving SJP reporter style, always there to face the cameras outside the ground. Stood just next to the mong in the blue 1994 tracksuit carrying two carrier bags.
  22. 10 year player can only mean one thing to me... they're absolutely shitting it that no-one will renew. There may well be 'get-out' clauses but no doubt the Ts&Cs will need going over with a fine tooth comb. This lot cannot be trusted with anything. whats the betting that one of them is "we reserve the right to cancel the scheme at any time" ? Of course it could be a short term thing to get the sales up and then the club is sold and its someone elses problem.
  23. That Gascoigne kid, whatever happened to him eh?
