Asking Mods to ban me because one post out of 50 is about a twitter itk is being a prick and thats you not me. tbf its the other 49 posts that pee me off. opps there I go again, team spiteful I would hope that my posts in reply to you and many others (CT excluded) do not come across that way, generally I only post when I have a view and opinion on something. If I disagree its not generally for the sake of disagreeing its because I have (in your words) a diametrically opposed view (whatever the hell that means!) and usually Id back that up with reasoning. This is a message board, its there for all thoughts, views and opinions no matter how much one person disagrees with something posted, thats all it is, a post. If its total crap then it will merely make the poster look stupid. If it sparks debate then job done. The repeating of rumours however when its clear that they're total crap merely exasperates an already stupid situation. I still believe that many of those who follow the likes of Colin Warr and toontastic1892 (whos name pees me off immensely) arent people desperate for some hope but people desperate to look ITK themselves, they follow these people, repeat their rubbish, passing it off as their own which then happens with some of their followers...repeat to fade. Posting it on here, N-O, skunkers, etc merely moves the crap to another area of the internet and spreads it even further.

How did Newcastle do the week you were born
peasepud replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Day after I was born we got beat 1-0 at home to Chelsea. Obviously the late night for the lads celebrating didnt help matters. -
Those players that have been in a "Jesmond hotel" must have seen every sight in Newcastle, how long they been there now? Ive yet to see anything ITK from toontastic1892 (who has blocked me after I pointed out a blatant lie of his) or this Colin kidda.

As it was to 51,677 that were there, the one exception being wor lasses stepdad who came along with me. Never budged from his seat at any stage, just sat with his arms folded silently watching. Port Vale, say no more.

The Seven Creatures of the Transfer Window: which one are you?
peasepud replied to carrolll40th's topic in Newcastle Forum
3) The Apathetic Jaded by years of transfer windows these people have seen it all. Cynical about any link with a player they take everything with a tonne of salt. Always ready to hose down your excitement about the possibility of a signing, frustratingly they’re correct more often than not. Natural Habitat: On a Higher Plane Most likely to say: ‘There’s no point speculating until he’s pictured with the shirt on.’ Least likely to say: “The deal is almost done, I read it on Twitter.” -
When Hasselbaink scored that own goal in the 2-1 win over Chelsea, I can clearly be seen on MOTD legging it out of my seat, giving it the fingers and ripping the piss out of him. He was literally 6 foot in front of me lying on the deck

I can see both sides of this argument, Chez is right as far as Im concerned that the purchase was made in January however you'd be right to argue that the purchase wasnt a new one, we already had Ben Arfa and as far as the fans were aware we were planning on buying him regardless of whether Carroll stayed or went. To then include him as a "its alright we sold Carroll because we got Ben Arfa" would be a strange one. As has been said before, its too early to call either way on this transfer window. We've brought in some early and could continue to. On the other hand we could now get rid of all those that have been mentioned and end up in the brown stuff. Lets see come September, Im sure you can guess what I think the likely scenario is. As for Toonpacks statement that a transfer fee is not creative accounting, no the fee itself isnt but thats not what Oz was getting at, it was the inclusion of future wages into the whole spending of that income. We purchased Cabaye for £4.5m and are paying him £35k p/w on a 5 year contract which equates to a total outlay of £13.6m as far as the club are concerned. So out of the £35m Carroll money we now have £21.4m after Cabaye alone. Stick Ba on the same money and even on a free youve knocked another £9.1m off. Its very creative accounting. It works to a fashion if, when we sell players, we also add their remaining contract wages to the pot but you can be sure that wont happen. We've spent £13m on Cabaye but if we were to sell him next year for £10m say then you can bet your house that the value we get told we're spending is £10m and not £17m as it really should be. As for the original statement from Derek about it all going back into the club then yeah hes right but ultimately that equates to a saving for Ashley.

Fucking hell, I hope Joey Barton doesnt read this thread
-
No I didnt include those, simply the transfer fees and contracted wages for Ba, Marveaux and Cabaye

Was very hospitable to the local plod when they spent the day in his house, made them cuppas and even had biscuits on the go. allegedly.

"Do you recognise this voice?" "awww haway man Paul man, lerris gan, me shift starts in half an hoor like man..." "Yes thats right, its Martin, the lad you held hostage for a week" Dudududduuuuuuu
-
My calculation (which is prone to huge error!) is £23m of the £35m spent so far.

I like the fact that the short one has clearly just been and bought that shirt. You can see the parallel lines down the sides and across the middle where the folds were. Probably still got the tags in to return it tomorrow.

You've easily turned into the most cynical on here like. I wouldnt disagree that either tbh but I now see Stoke as a bigger club in terms of current football standing (and you could never gauge how hard that is for me to say!). FA Cup final, Europa league next season, hes captain there and much liked by the fans. Stoke made it clear he wasnt for sale so to then sell them to a club who is a rival for league places wouldnt seem sensible.
-
Its an extremely sad thing to say but why would Shawcross want to leave Stoke for here? Stoke = Europe. Its a no brainer.

Martin Samuel - So, what's left to make the Toon swoon?
peasepud replied to Mr Gittes's topic in Newcastle Forum
I know what his argument is. It's just incredibly flawed. Remove the Nolan and West Ham aspects from the article and youve got 2 lines that I agree with, ie "Newcastle cant class themselves as a massive club purely because they get big crowds, it needs to be based on success". Im interested thopugh Chez in how you can argue Marveaux has pedigree when hes done nowt for the last couple of seasons, is 25, cant make the French team and is currently injured. Yet you compare that to a player who has proven his worth in the PL on more than one occassion at more than one club. Or is the criteria French = pedigree? -

peasepud replied to Mr Gittes's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think his use of West Ham is a red herring tbh. What hes basically saying is that we cant class ourselves as a big club just on the size of our fanbase and any chance of basing it on actual success such as Europe etc have disappeared under Ashley. I think he then uses West Ham as proof that we cant be harbouring aspirations when we cant even hold onto our best players when the competition is Londons 4th/5th club who have just been relegated. -

peasepud replied to Mr Gittes's topic in Newcastle Forum
Well Im going out on a limb here Although the article itself is badly written I think the sentiment is right, unfortunately our replies show exactly what hes on about. We cant argue against what hes saying by comparing crowd sizes and although I agree West Ham are clearly a smaller club than us in all respects what hes saying is that somehow they appear to have more ambition than we do otherwise they couldnt nick one of our best players. -
See, I might have some sympathy if you were to name the 6 or 7 but my guessing is that its those most vocal against your views. Thats not sniping, its having a different opinion, something that Team Positive cant seem to understand. *oops there I go, sniping again
