N'Zogbia ready to snub Liverpool for Newcastle
peasepud replied to Dafydd's topic in Newcastle Forum
And Ashley hates Whelan, the whole NZog thing has been a smokescreen to give the impression that we're looking to buy big. It was used at the end of Jan window to cover the Carroll thing and is now. Say we're in for big name, expensive player to shut the fans up, you know its safe to do because the selling chairman would hike the price up for us and we can legitimately then argue hes not worth it. -
Its unlikely hes got a girlfriend it has to be said. Its probably a canneloni existence tbh

I no longer hold an ST and Id say its exactly the same as Gemmill, its hard enough justifying the cost in the current climate but when I was coming home each game and moaning about it then it became a joke. I also agree that we cant force a buyer, the only thing that boycotts etc would do is to reduce the value of the club and therefore make it more likely that a buyer would be found. That in itself though is fraught with danger, its one thing having a fat, greedy billionaire retail magnate in charge. What happens if instead we end up with a fat, greedy millionaire chicken plucker instead? Its all swings and roundabouts and no matter how cynical I am, its no use having this conversation until the end of the transfer window. As much as I agree it will happen. If we're talking about selling Tiote though then I reckon theyd take £15m as its all based on a profit principle rather than value on the pitch. £3.5m to buy £30k per week? for 6 years = £9.36m (10.63m in real cost to the club) therefore selling him for £13m+ will see a hefty profit when you think that 5 years of that pay is saved.

Can we please give you some money to make this place run better?
peasepud replied to Gemmill's topic in General Chat
If people are being timed out then its going to need a change of host, when we were having problems with them before due to the size of the tables I came to an agreement and paid them a lumper to increase our capacity and "overlook" it as such. If all thats happened is we're getting poorer service then its time to shift. I dont like using the forum on the iPhone but that goes for a lot of sites tbh, that tapatalk is free but it only works with the latest version of IP Board and that will cost 200 sheets to upgrade I believe. I think it needs to be done tbh. -

Aye but more users mean the likelyhood of more people like me as well. I think you misunderstood my original point . . . . -

As much as Im happy to take the cash I dont see any problems with how the place is running. If you're getting errors and slow connections etc then Im not getting them? Admittedly, Im not on here half as much these days so maybe Im missing the problem times? What exactly is going wrong? -
aye its probably a good idea like, taking a tent camping.

Allardyce statement annoys me greatly.
peasepud replied to Irrelevant Nick KP's topic in Newcastle Forum
No, it's just that for some bizarre reason, if you post ANY football topic in the general chat room, people tell you to post it here! Its mental isnt it? Football chat in football forum, other stuff in General. Its Political correctness gone mad. One small thing - this is a Newcastle United forum, rather than a football forum (and that wasn't meant to sound disrespectful of the football served up by Newcastle United Bugger youve got me there....oh hold on. "General Chat Anything that has nothing to do with Newcastle United or football in general " So technically, its not for Newcastle forum because its not directly about NUFC and its not for General because its about football, best not post it at all -
what price European qualification?

I think we might get another striker if we're lucky. I think it's near-impossible that we won't bring in another striker to be perfectly honest. That might mean that we panic and bring in someone mediocre however. The club aren't stupid, it's painfully obvious that we need to improve in that position.

Seriously man, never ever use the words "Barry Moat" and right intentions in the same sentence. That bloke made me glad Ashley wasnt selling.

I find it hard to get hugely upset about the £35million, mainly because I never once believed we'd see much of it. Hand on heart, who did? Team Positive!

I tweeted that about 3 weeks ago. My money would have been more on toontastic1892 though, purely on the name

last year loss 33.5m turnover 52.4m year before (08/09) loss 37.7m turnover 86.1m so in its simplest form, we should be able to roughly match the turnover of 08/09 now that we're back in the Prem. based on the fact that our outgoings were 85.9m that would have us showing a profit of 0.2m not a bad turnaround it has to be said and top marks to the club for managing that. Now take into account that we reduced operating costs when we were relegated from 98m to 74.4m then you're looking at a profit this year of 15m. Thats assuming they havent gone back up but it would be strange to imagine that we threw away those savings on getting promoted. Now the fun bit, 35m in from Carroll has paid the wages of Cabaye, Marveaux, Ba, Ben Arfa. In return we're saving 1.5m on Carrolls wages. 2m on Nolans, and say £2m on all the others that have left. So we're now upto a projected £20.5m profit. If theyre also saying that agents and sign on fees have been paid out of this then you would have to assume that we paid out these things in 08/09 as well which (even if we're conservative) could be say £5m then we're into a £25m potential profit.

£15 in TESCO at the moment them tables. I did consider making the purchase No good sitting on picnic blankets like it's the 50's. Twats, I checked them first and the piggin website says £29 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-3493.aspx As the wife is going under protest, every "luxury" I can muster can only help. Saw them in-store at North Shields last night. Wouldn't worry about £4 too much like, if you've already bought it. Had a look today (Bastards). Quite impressed as well by the half price double airbags for a £10, but waiting til Ive done GoOutdoors tomorrow. Got the Airbeds and theyre spot on, highly recommend them.

THe whole thing is disgusting but overall imagine being the parents, leaving heartbreaking message after message. Pouring your heart out in the hope it will convince your child to come home. Then to find out years after she was murdered that some low life reporters have probably sat round a table listening to every word.

His job is so easy Receive email from Derek Select All Copy Open new mail Address to editor Paste What would you do to keep him? How would you handle the situation? As for Fergie as a replacement, no way Im a wee bit lost as to what that has to do with my post about Lee Ryders total lack of journalistic talent or integrity. As for keeping him, we cant and nobody could blame him. At risk of "doing a Leazes" all professional footballers should make it their aim in life to play at the top level. If their current club cant match that ambition then you cant blame the player for wanting out. A journalist wouldnt be sneered at for leaving the "Wansbeck Advertiser" to go to the Times, the same logic applies. Players need to be ambitious, they need to play at the highest level they can manage, in Enriques case thats CL and hes not going to get that here. So basically, the only thing we could do to persuade him to stay would be lie through our teeth about how we're ambitious and how we'll be buying some top players to play alongside him. Trouble is he'll have heard it all before and be wise to that.
