This is just hypothetical because I really havent got a clue but how about the following scenario. He owns a major business and a football club. He puts zero into the business because its profitable and as a result he makes a fortune based on its performance. The football club on the other hand has been losing money but is now close to breaking even, sometimes he has to put money into the club however this is in the form of loans that somewhere down the line he'll get back. He knowns however that if he takes a profit out of the club there'll be hell on especially if its at the expense of the team. So what he does is takes his profit in the form of free advertising for the other business, this results in increased profits and higher share value, that in itself makes him money. The club "technically" isnt losing out because much of it is advertising space thats not been sold anyway. I hate what hes done to the ground, the Gallowgate roof is a disgrace and an eyesore. Removing the name from the East Stand and replacing it with SD will be horrible and the addition of another load of electronic boards flashing the name out but and this is a big but, if its not losing the club money and stops him taking some out then so fucking be it. The fat twat.

were going, went last year and it was good, other than the location of course! Plenty to see, best to make sure you go when the Red Arrows are on though.

Newcastle v Arsenal Sat 13th August Kick Off 5.30pm
peasepud replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Too expensive. The wifes finished maternity and Im full time Dad so its only the evenings, but mainly weekends I can get out. Chucking all those Saturday double shifts is just too expensive. Is a fair enough answer, although dont take the missus and daughter and you'll find that theres few games these days on a Saturday afternoon and you'll be quids in. -

Hold on, can we come back to the OP? I thought you were getting a season ticket? you were all for it before the transfer window opened, going on about Team Positive and all that, then we buy "some quality" in your words and youve not got one? -

cheapest way? walk Cheapest way thats either by car, bus, or train? You could get the megabus http://uk.megabus.com just checked it and its £8 each way, you could get the 23:15 on Friday night from London, Victoria Coach Station which gets you into Newastle at 05:40 on Saturday morning and then the 01:15 on Sunday morning getting into London at 07:30 two kips on the bus, no hotel stay and a whole day in Toon. -

All joking aside mind the general boycott thing is sensible, £57 to see any club is laughable, the fact its QPR makes it ridiculous. We'll still sell out though

considering the shirt sponsorship deal was something like £6m then I cant see how any company in their right mind would pay more than 3 times that for the priviledge of having their name become an email address and a few signs erected in a ground. Shirt sponsorship has to be the most lucrative sponsorship deals going. Every image of the players, every time they appear on tv both home and away, thousands of people walking around the country with the name of your company in direct view of everyone that passes them, 7 days a week. Thats why I believe £20m was a non-existent attempt at selling the space and at the same time meant he could go to SD shareholders and say "we've got £20m of advertising for nowt" when in reality its probably worth 1 or 2m
-
But he isnt forking out any money for us now, we break even remember?
-
1 out of 3 and no Im not predicting it which is a bad thing I suppose
-
I think no matter what wording is used though, the players know that its irrelevant how well they play if the rest of the team arent upto scratch (thats not me dissing the new lads either). Im sure regardless of money thoughts, the likes of Enrique wont want the dubious pleasure of relegation twice. Id also think that your average player couldnt really give a monkeys how they are viewed by an ex-clubs fans so hes not going to care about your PR exercise. And to be fair, Id automatically go against him if you came on with the PR
-
there never was any intent to sell the naming rights. It was simply a cover to gain the free space for SD.

I know this is probably splitting hairs but he didnt actually state he wanted to finish his career here or proclaim undying loyalty. What he said was along the lines of "the fans are amazing I could stay here all my career" theres a difference there. He was specifically talking about the support not the club itself. Regardless of that though, times change, that statement was made (I believe) under Hughton and as someone said earlier maybe hes not happy with Pardew. And I dont think he offended the new players, he definitely didnt say that the signings were a waste of space.

well that 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back

Do it yourself, its really easy to do and loads cheaper. Also handy to pick up the basics so you can make changes. Per year costs; Domain name: £3 (.co.uk) or £5 (.com) Hosting: £20 (take ur pick, I'd go with a sticky'd provider) One-off Design: £20 (Theme Forest To tweak it just post in the help section there's loads of people that can help. or create a £25 job on vWorker Obviously I would disagree with that being someone who develops sites but it is one of the worst mistakes people make deciding to buidl their own site if they dont have any experience. Its not just about the look of the site, its the content, the way its structured, the links you use and how you go about marketing it. There really is nothing worse (aside from trapping your bollocks in a vice) than a home made website for a professional business. Hosting shouldnt be a case of the cheapest one, you need to take into account the requirements of the site, do you need Content Management? databases? how many visitors do you expect? is it hosted in the desired country etc etc. Do not just jump into making your own site, at least speak to someone you know about it.
