Bit like yourself then

Eh? the fact you've had to ask that question surprises me but Christmas Tree has already answered that tbh. I would totally disagree that the bit in bold will make many people happy tbh, if however Ashley stays and he starts to run the club like a football club should be ran then things will be different. As for what will be our objectives, what exactly is it you think our objectives are now? All we've asked for from the start is change, change from the shit that was happening to this club, this is a definite start and something that should rightly be applauded but its not a long term change, its a short term, get us out of the shite change. Its not a result, its not a guarantee that next year we wont be in the same position only this time without the chance of Al coming in and saving the day. The supporters club is there for the supporters, to fight their corner when things arent quite right. To stand up for them when stewards take their job too far, when the club denies the repayment of VAT money that is rightfully theirs. Its also there to allow the fans to get their views forward, regardless of what anyone says it does allow that, the backing of a membership of 1100 plus gives a far bigger chance of Bobby Shinton being heard than if he shouts on his own. More importantly though the SC is there for the members, it will become what they make it.

So what does Ashley do if Shearer buggers off after the 8 games? Go back and ask Dennis to return? This regime had faith in DW, they believed he was doing a good job and it was all part of the master plan. I think personally that DW was due to leave anyway, either through another job or because the whole regime is away and therefore this was inevitable. If he was already nailed on for more then why say its 8 only? why not just come out and give everyone an even bigger feelgood factor and get even more plaudits than they are doing? Why does Shearer himself state that its only 8 games? Lets just be realistic and if it happens then all the better, I for one though refuse to get my hopes up that this is a brave new Ashley/Shearer dawn.

I refer the honourary gentleman to his 7th place prediction.

I'll donate £100 to a charity of your choice if Shearer isn't NUFC manager in 5 months time. He's already obliterated a system which Ashley had so much faith in, in the space of two days (DOF), I don't think it's even up for debate that Shearer was squarely behind the removal of Dennis Wise, so you think if he's only going to be here 8 games, Ashley would be prepared to completely alter the structure of the club to get someone in for eight days. What is Shearer supposed to say about Kinnear too, "he's had a heart attack fuck him"? He's just giving him some respect, Kinnear's comments about "moving upstairs" are of a man who is patently aware of the situation. Shearer is our permanent manager, nothing that has been said or will be said in the press conference today will alter that view. Im not saying he wont be here, what I am saying is that he and Ashley will not both be. If Shearer stays then its because somebody new owns the club not through Ashley. It would take a total turn around in methods and thinking for that to happen and we all know its not going to. So Meenzer gets the cash.

This announcement is great and frankly I dont think theres anything more we could have hoped to happen at this stage in the season (other than the FA suddenly deciding that the bottom 3 clubs should swap places with the top 3) but people need to start getting a sense of reality. There is nothing to hint that Shearer will be here after the season has ended, nothing at all and if Ashley is still in charge then I believe there is no way he will. The removal of Wise is not down to Shearer, either he was already on his way or theres something bigger going on. Think about it for a minute, Ashley didnt put Keegan ahead of Wise even though he'd already had proof of what KK could do and how he was viewed by the fans, hes Ashleys mate, they have already stated that this is the plan, this is the structure and this is what we are going to do. You dont suddenly scrap a 5 year plan just on the demands of a temporary manager. If they were going to change everything around again then they would want assurances of Shearer staying, the signing of a contract and then they'd parade this brave new world to us as a masterstroke in Llambias planning (we've listened to the fans, made mistakes, know what needs to be done etc etc yaddda yadda..) If Shearer was to take the job on full time then he would want a total clearout and his own players bringing in, this would require money, guarantees of proper money. Hes not going to be happy settling for us being a bit part club, an also ran who class a good season as one where they dont get relegated. SHearer is a winner, he proved that in his career and I dont care what people say he will have a regret that he didnt go to the likes of Man U for a couple of seasons before coming home. Hes not going to make that mistake again. Does anyone really believe deep down that Ashley is suddenly going to hand over that kind of cash, this club is in a terrible state financially was the statement, this club needs to get sorted before we can spend. Mike Ashley has been hit by the credit crunch etc. He didnt spend when he had 1.5 billion hes not going to do it now whens hes got a third of that and having problems business wise elsewhere. Lets be happy that we now have a chance of staying up or at least if we do go down its fighting and not just with quiet realisation that we were doing but lets not be drawn into some false belief that this in itself is the dawning of a new era.

It was KK that brought him in... Same as all those youngsters were more than likely spotted by scouts and recommended to the club with Wise having the job to convince them to sign (which he failed with a couple of promising youngsters, like Vokes). I think Volkes is a different case, he's played 30 times for Wolves this season, he'd have been lucky to make the bench at the toon. He'd been unlucky not to make the bench this season tbh... As much as I agree with the policy of acquiriny young talents from all over the world. How successfull this approach is going to be we will only see in a couple of years time as normally only few players actually turn good... It's a policy that only works when you add them to a succesful first team. Adding a few drops of red wine to a bucket of anti-freeze, just dilutes and ruins the wine. Adding a few drops of anti freeze to a bucket of wine gives you more wine. Remind me never to come to yours for tea -
I hate that cunt, serious question, has anyone ever seen him at SJP? What an ill informed hairy fucker. Chelsea mafia sign? WTF? Dick. I'll take him in the death pool and keep my fingers crossed. we? we? I ask again McCuntick when was the last time you turned up to give your support? Theres more to being a "fan" than looking like a tit with a scarf, hat and top on. wanker

I dont see how anything gets Ashley out of the shit other than turning this club round and running it like a professional football club (one of the top 20 richest in the world) should be ran ie team sheet rather than balance sheet. It would take at least a full season for that to even look possible. What hes done here is finally realise just how much of a mess we are in, thats all. Hes realised that his investment is screwed if we go down and it needs something new because the current structure isnt working. Shearer is here for 8 games and 8 games only. Any talk of Wise going is either premature or a sign of something much bigger happening because theres no way Ash and Llambias would totally change their structure and way of working to keep Al happy for 8 games. Theres also no way that Ashley will give assurances of big money next season, they admitted the club had no money and Ash was feeling the pinch, they swear blind that their 5 year plan will work so why change it? We should take each day as it comes, each match must be met with optimism and a banging of the NUFC drum, sod next season, sod Wise, sod Ashley sod the lot of 'em. All that matters until May 25th is what happens on that pitch and hopefully, just hopefully Shearer has what it takes to pull off the required change in this club. Once thats secured then we can wonder what will happen next season, if Ashley is still here though then I dont foresee anything different to the one we've just had and as I said earlier there is no chance that both he and Shearer will be at this club together come September.

I havent read all of the thread so apologies if someones already said this.... but get the fuck in! finally some possibility of a change around and move forward.. now the level headed bit.... Hes only here til the end of the season and I reckon thats all it will be. Shearer wouldnt come here without a guarantee of good money (not huge world record breaking funds but the amounts he knows we need to compete). Shearer is another Keegan he wont be willing to come here and manage the club he loves as a lower mid table also rans. If we stay up then I reckon he walks away as hes agreed, if we go down however then I think he'll stay to get us back up. Saying all that, get the fuck in! now the pessimistic view. How come now? Rumours abound of administration if we drop and if they are actually true then Ashley now knows hes fucked as they have denied them, any credibility in the business world would be shot to shit if he now did it so hes finally getting his arse into gear to try and keep us up and delay it for a year. Even then though..... get the fuck in!!!!

Moving the club foward together no doubt. Yep no doubt supporting the team means buying a season ticket, replica shirt, 3 pints and a pie at the game and continuing to accept dross. Oh and lets work together, you buy we take the cash.

Good to see they've come out and rubbished it, at least we can get on with backing the team.... although that does seem remarkably familiar as a quote, isnt it exactly what Llambarse said in the Journal interview?

As it states there Barton was fined 60k, if this kid used that to go and get ratarsed then its his own fault. Dont get me wrong Ive got sympathy for the lad and frankly what JB did was twatful but the fact Tandy was let go by City meant he wasnt good enough, doesnt look like there was a string of Premiership or even Championship teams looking to take him on at the time so he ended up going to Denmark! Breaking his leg there wasnt Bartons fault was it? Getting in his car pissed also wasnt JBs fault, nope it was nobodies but Tandys and frankly the fact the papers are covering this in the "oooh poor Jamie, victim of vile thug Barton" when frankly hes just some failed footballer who could have killed some innocent family with what he did makes it even more of a mockery. Sometimes I wonder if you put Barton and Ian Huntely in a fight to the death the Mirror would be running "Come on Ian headlines on the front page"

Fuck knaas where he works these days, everytime Ive sat down for a pint with the bugger hes had a different career! "Hows banking?" "Oh I dont do that now, I desing fucking runways or summat equally mental"
