Devastating even though we knew this was coming, it's still a terrible shock. There's entire buildings here at work gone silent when the news came through. RIP Sir

Biffa is Sima and the other one (who always strikes me as Andrew Ridgley of the partnership) is J69

So where did the quote come from originally? haway maaaaan, it was 5 in the morning and I was getting worked up over something that wasnt even real????
-
I cant believe that three pages in and people are talking seriously about it being Larry Ellison because, and I quote "its what my mates heard this morning in the office.". Fucking hell man, we're not even bothering to add "from a sponsor", "an american client", "Larrys mothers hairdresser" at the end of it these days.

Jesus wept, so the Ronnie calls for them to come clean and give us information and the next thing you know, Dekka is out here saying as much stuff as he can make up. What happened to confidentiality clauses? what happened to the day (only a couple of weeks ago) when Dekka and Mike didnt know who bidders were as all of this was, quite rightly being handled by Seymour Pierce? Now the daft fucker is so desperate to shut us all up hes making up so much bollocks and what he thinks we want to hear that hes managing to look even more ridiculous by the minute. Just give us the truth, when people ask to be told whats happening, thats what we want not to be reassured with random bollocks. Its like asking the NHS to reassure us about swine flu, instead of saying its not very nice but give it a few days and 99% of those that get it will be feeling fine they tell us that its a bit like winning the lottery and every morning you'll wake up with this beautiful feeling of euphoria and the smell of roses in the air. This story is shit, its shit for so many reasons its hard to keep count but the big, sooopadoopa whopper and proof as far as Im concerned is this statement "Last time Keegan inherited a lot of people he didn't necessarily want and we don't want the same situation again. He has nothing against Shearer. He just thinks Keegan retains greater global appeal." So why sell Martins? why suddenly decide that the transfer embargo is no more when we're "a week away" from a sale to a man who will install a manager who didnt appear to have any problem with Martins the last time he managed us? You know what really, really boils my piss about this lot? on top of all the shit, all the ridiculous decisions, the grinding of our football club into the ground, the way they manage to fuck everything up. Its the fact that they think we're so stupid as to not put two and two together and get an answer thats somewhere in single figures. That picture of him as Comical Ali couldnt be much closer to the truth and the Sun is so desperate to rip us apart that its willing to print this shit.

Ashley can't just trouser the money. He can if there is no sale and we'e about to be taken off the market. If theres buyers then this doesnt make sense, weve had a transfer embargo since the start which was stated as being part of the conditions of sale. You cant imagine any new potential owners could say "aye go on flog him" until the ink has dried on their contract. What if the club sale stalls at the last second? what if the next buyers in line wanted Martins to stay. If however, there is no sale and we're about to be taken off the market then this is realistic and Ash does get to pocket the cash.

Hold on, is this the same journo that promised some huge story that would "shake football to its very core" a couple of weeks ago? Well thats me convinced.

It is technically true they did, they also failed to buy Man United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Brazil, the 1966 Argentinian World Cup squad, a limited edition one off first edition of Jasper Carrots autobiography and a second hand Ford Mondeo that was advertised as spares or repair (only £200, good quality seats) in the Autotrader last Thursday

I'll give you 8/1 on that mate how much are your wages Fuck me, you're obviously from that well respected firm "Ashley, Llambias and co bookmakers" with them odds. You could have offered me 1000/1 on and it would have been daft, I'll stick me two grand on the nose there.

I get paid on Friday, all my wages say that come Saturday morning we're no further forward.

Prediction for attendance v Leeds on Wednesday...
peasepud replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
Whatever it is, if you go chances are you'll be sat next to a Leeds fan. Leeds were given an allocation of only 2k which went immediately, thousands of them seemingly have been snapping tickets up in our ends, the rest are going to be paying on the door. I predict a riot [/kaizers] -
Dont forget that within 5 mins of you unfurlling your banner some random bloke who nobody has ever seen at the game before will appear, argue with you and then take a swing, causing you to respond and smack him one. Next thing you know a dozen stewards will appear out of nowhere, grab you, have you arrested and subsequently banned from all football grounds for three years even though you have 30 years exemplary record home and away. © Keith Barrett 2009

A serious question - not an attempted "wind up"!
peasepud replied to The Owld Fecker's topic in Newcastle Forum
The point Im making though is that nobody will work under Ashley, we had no takers for the job last time except Kinnear and now we're in a bigger pile of shite than then. Simple fact of life is, its Shearer or Kinnear under Ashley. -
I honestly believe that if theres ten even 20m difference then he'll be willing to lose the cash, the loss of face in the business world would probably hit him harder.
-
Totally agree. I reckon from the age of 5 to 14, 95% of my living thoughts were about football. Even worse though are blokes who just don't like football, I haven't got one male mate who is a football hater, I don't think I could have neither. How can you have a mate who doesn't like football? Makes you wonder whether football will enter a supporters decline in the next ten years or so as kids nowadays dont play it like we used to. Days for us used to be a lickabout in the playground, twice a day. Run home, get changed and straight onto the field for two hours. Finishing off after tea with an hour or so of head tennis in the street. School holidays just meant two 4 hour long games followed by tea and twice as much head tennis. Nowadays you dont see kids knocking a ball around in the street.

I said this back in November (not meaining that to be a hahaha looks like I was right) but if you were Ashley, ex billionaire, multi business empire genius. Would you want to sell the club to someone who is likely to promote us first time and show how it should be done? or would you prefer to flog us off to someone who has little chance of it and sit back waiting for the inevitable "Ashley wasnt as bad as this lot" comments? To put it into perspective, imagine you're 13 again* and you've spent the last two hours trying to do keep ups, only managing 20 or so while all the local girls are watching, then two kids come along and want to buy your ball so they can have a go. Do you sell it to the athletic kid who you know can do 50 on his head before balancing the ball on the back of the neck or to the crosseyed kid wearing the knee brace and built up shoe? *if you're reading this from N-O then just imagine it was last week

None at all. Now St James' Holdings well thats a different matter, they've acquired quite a bit of land in the last couple of years.... *allegedly

Most of my thoughts have been echoed elsewhere in this thread but here they are anyway: We currently need a manager now, today, not tomorrow, not next week but immediately. It takes time to recruit a manager from scratch, you need to identify your targets, get agreement to talk to them from their current club (if theyre any good that is), talk to them, agree terms and then agree a compensation package with the current club. Once installed, they need to get upto scratch on players, staff and everything else. All of that is in an ideal world where these managers are banging on our door begging to be chosen, they're not, nobody in their right mind would take this job under Ashley and co, nobody wants to work under them as proven last time (when we were a Premiership club, not a dying Championship one). On top of that theres the fact that the clubs being sold and if rumours are true, most if not all of those looking to buy us want Shearer as manager so it could be a short lived appointment. Add to that the fact that no matter what the fans, players etc would be more than happy if it was Shearer then anyone coming in is already on the back foot. So we cant realistically expect to recruit anyone that way which leaves us with those that have expressed an interest..... so thats Shearer and Kinnear Case closed m'lud. -
Thing is its not costing Ashley, its costing the club, its being added to the overdraft and sometime soon the bank is going to come knocking. As things stand there is no light at then end of the tunnel, if we continue on forking out that kind of figure every week then the overdraft must be increasing currently by at least £1.8m per week (totally guessed figure but I cant see us making enough sales of that yellow shirt and everything else to give us our cut of more than 200k per week). So that means that in the last 9 weeks since the season ended we've added another 16m to the overdraft, yes the season ticket sales will have gone a long way towards it but watching nearly 2m going out each week with no sign of anything coming in and Barclays will pull the plug themselves.
