Totally agree mate. A cup is tradition and all that, a trip to wembley, splodging in the fountains. Promotion is frying pan to fryer territory at the minute. Would ideally like both, but given the choice a cup every time. Think most wiser / older fans would agree with you. The football manager generation, thats a different kettle of fish all together. Im sorry like and with the greatest of respect but you're mental.

Anyone been? Im heading to the one at Gosforth tonight and not being a huge fan of Fish (both the food and poster ) I've got a limited knowledge of what to order (other than never to go near Lobster again ). Any recommendations?

Toon bid hopefuls backed by New York firm

I know where you're coming from, I honestly believe that most fans now see these stories and think "aye reet, another load of shite", well most, apart from CT who thinks "wooohooo, it'll be sorted by the end of the week!" . I know for definite that at least two of the bids are not fabrications of the fat lads but would put plenty money on the fact that most, if not all of the rest are either publicity seekers or out and out bullshit put up by Ashley. -
pah, walked out three times, did nothing for us, all his fault, should have stayed etc etc etc

Strangely I've noticed the best time to actually think calmly is the first half hour after waking. You're right, and the worst times are before tea/after work, and late at night. Aye I took a step back, I feel fine now, the owner of the company who in effect is everybody's boss gave me the bollocking, normally he would've given it to my divisional manager, but he's on holiday right now and I'm next in the firing line after him. I made a big error which on Wednesday looked like it had cost the company £12,000, but we've managed to turn it round, and only ended up costing £700. Wednesday was a bad day though, I was contemplating buying a kalashnikov and everything hehe nah. To be fair to him he actually spoke to me that night, and apologised for dealing with me harshly and said I was a big asset to the company as I had a lovely way of dealing with clients and had a nice personality, news to me like but it lifted me spirits. Am still keeping me options open though, maybe this week was what I needed to make me realise I need to avoid stagnating. There's a few of you on the dole at the minute, good luck to you, but remember the recession won't last forever and there'll be a huge boom the next time it comes up, but my uneducated guess is we're at least 12 months away from that point. I take it hes never read your posts then

Photoshop pisses on Gimp tbh however I ...I mean I have a friend who was running a cracked CS4 but then had to change their motherboard which totally screwed CS4 making it ask for validation and meant it couldnt even be reinstalled. Of course, should someone know how to get round that then I'll tell my mate and give them a stern lecture on software piracy.

Nah, our defence seems ok at the minute, they'll never stick 7 in.
-
But for me its a sense of guarding what we can and not causing ourselves any further complications.
-
Its nothing to do with politics, its keeping your arse safe for the more important things such as staving off another relegation or (hopes) pushing for promotion, things such as this for little clubs such as ourselves are a distraction that we cant afford. Its time people got into the real world and realised we are no longer competition, we didnt win this competition when we were a force to be reckoned with, now we're just some other championship club then we're there for the arse raping once we get one of the bigger boys in the shower that is the Carling Cup. I for one, dont want us to miraculously get as far as the quarters with lucky draws only to find we lose three of four of our players due to injury and the additional games to then draw Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Man U and be given a lesson in just how far we have dropped.
-
I honestly couldnt give a fuck about the Carling Cup, didnt care when we were a nice, safe mid table Premiership club, seriously couldnt give a fuck about it now were relegated

Tuesday's 5pm deadline means nowt as...................
peasepud replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
I am not saying that ffs. Overheard some lads in the boozer saying ''if we don't get anyone in before Tuedsa we are knacked as the window doesn't open again til January''. IF we do hit injury problems after Tuesday, all I am saying is that players can be brought in on loan to bolster the squad - so everyone shouldn't get all overly despondent if no one is signed before then. We have to face facts - loan deals and out of contract players are all we will going for. Ashley wants promotion on the cheap, and he knows he has a great chance of achieving this. The wage bill for staff inc players, admin etc still stands at £850,000 per week {45 million divided by 52} despite fire sales. Income from matchdays is only around £500,000 and that is roughly every fortnight, not every week. The £11m parachute payment only equates to £200,000 per week. He is still losing around £400k per week at present, so anyone who thinks transfer fees and big wages are going to be paid out whilst he is still in charge is living in cloud cuckoo land. I would guess that Lovenkrands wage demands are stopping the deal going through at present. We all know the situation is far from good, but it looks like the present squad will remain intact with no sales between now and Tuesday evening and it is too good not to go up. Leicester will be put to the sword just as Reading, Sheff Wed and H'field were, even if Ameobi, Carroll and Guti are missing and as ever, I have put my money where my mouth is at the bookies. You've not put your money where your mouth is here though. The offer still stands, £100 to the charity of the winners choice, Newcastle will NOT be promoted this season if Ashley is still in charge. Most of which were too good to go down last season too. -

57.6.3.2.6.7-4r5e. states you will be banned if you post any more shite like this. You've just blown your own argument out of the water frankly, this club needs to strengthen its depth and know where it is. Loans are one answer but they are not the solution overall. You're constrained with loans, players get cup tied or their club refuses to allow them to play, players on loan can be recalled by their club just when you need them most, as you've shown above a max of 5 loan players can be named in a squad, we hit injuries and we could have problems with that one. Theres a thousand an one reasons why you thinking the world of NUFC is rosy because we can grab a loan player here and there when the going gets tough is bollocks. -

Totally agree however in honesty what should also have happened is a reduction given to season ticket holders to go to the Athletics, maybe theyd get a full house there if they sold tickets to NUFC season ticket holders at say a fiver instead of £10. That way, everyone is a winner. Athletics gets more in, toon get more in and season ticket holders get something out of it as well. What this regime have done all through this whole Season Ticket/ Loyalty scheme fiasco is put people off joining this sort of thing.

More than likely another smokescreen put out by fat Mike and dozy Decka to keep us entertained for the last couple of days before a press conference at 6pm on Tuesday. Decka: Unfortunately we were unable to find a buyer with the necessary drive and vision to take this club forward therefore Mike has taken the club off the market and will be devoted to it for the future. We plan to spend big in the remaining time of the transfer window.....what? huh? its Tuesday already? eeeeh how time flies eh? oh well maybe in January then......oh and we sold 4 players today. -
I dont think either of them give a fuck whats written tbh. Unless of course fat Mike thinks he can make some money through the courts.

http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1780489,00.html Two things come to mind here, firstly a good idea and anything that fills the stadium on Monday is a good thing and should be applauded however on a personal note, I paid £500 and committed to a season ticket for three years yet people who are guaranteed to be nowhere near the place on a cold night in December when we play the likes of Derby get in for what is technically £15 (as the cheapest ticket to the athletics is a tenner). Wheres the loyalty bonus there? yes we'll no doubt stick another thousand or so on the gate with people who'll wander in ten minutes late, spend another ten wandering round looking for their seat, tut and moan at the language for another ten minutes, wander down with 15 minutes of the first half to go and stuff their faces with hot dogs and coffee before leaving 15 minutes early to get home in time for Inspector Morse. [/highhorse] EDIT: Just spotted the statement "some of the best athletes in the world ...... on the pitch"

A press conference would have been announced by now if there was any kind of useful news. -
