48270 To quote .com.... Though I reckon there probably was, given the minibus that Sheffield United brought. I could still see a number of empty seats in our sections. The usual West Stand middle tier ends were virtually empty and as you looked around the ground you could spot empty seats in every bit of the ground.

I think this might be the one with the bloke arguing on the steps of SJP. Who we found through here

He's never stopped trying to sell

As much as I'd love to believe nobody is that stupid I reckon Dekka and Mike will be thinking we're world beaters after this season. Add in the Fab Four telling him they're Premiership class and it's a recipe for farce. Regardless of what CT wants to believe I desperately long to be proven wrong!

Do you think that £20m will include income from sales? If he does spend £20m on top of any sales then I'll start to believe he has the right idea.

you really are full of shit Feisty one you are In a totally unrelated matter im eating revels and i got two coffees in a row!! The odds of that Well assuming that you havent picked out all of the malterers first (making the assumption that they are larger and rounder than the rest), you have a current bag and not either a pre-eviction or limited edition new flavour one (thereby making the bag contain 5 flavours and not 6) and that you're not picking the chocolates out and smelling them before putting back then we can calculate the odds using the 4_C_2 method. In this case it would be 5_C_2 (5 Chooses 2). The added complication however comes in the size of the bag. Revels being harder to equate to numbers than Maltesers due to their differing weight and size. Maltesers 100g bag however contains around 48 items, as Maltesers are the largest of the Revels family then we can assume there are more Revels than Maltesers, making it 55 would be a sensible rounded amount. Therefore on average there are 20 chocolates in a 35g bag, 55 in a 100g and 97 in a Family bag (175g). Assuming the distribution of coffee to malteser, chocolate disc, orange and toffee is equal then we can say there are 4, 11 and 19 in each sized bag respectively. Therefore the odds on getting two coffees in a row are:

Theres no disputing that, should this story be true then Orient was a turning point in our pre-season. It doesnt however mean that 4 past it players should have any influence on who we employ or who plays. What if this story is only true to an extent? what if the 4 players merely had a dislike of certain players and told them to "fuck off" rather than the nice "we love this club" way in which the story is told? What then? would they have been right? What if Carroll and Lovenkrands hadnt been banging in goals and we were mid-table? would we have rejoiced in the fact these players had got rid of our previous Number 9?

Muppet. Promotion is a great thing, its great because we had to get it to survive, its not like the 80s when the 2nd division was our lot and to get promoted was the equivalent of having some top supermodel knock on your door, present you with a cheque for £10m and tell you she takes it up the wrong un. This season for Newcastle it was the same as having a naked Susan Boyle knock and present you with the lifesaving cure for your illness. We should all be happy on Monday when we seal that point and for the rest of the season rejoice in us taking the league but nobody should be crowing about it like we're the greatest club in the land. Next season means taking our place at the bottom of a pile, a pile thats way, way better than us in every conceivable way. We're not the greatest club in the land, we're a football club made up of Championship players and a couple of Premiership quality ones. The Premiership ones however are about to either go to the World Cup and then no doubt be snapped up by "big clubs" who "turn their heads, and once a players head is turned theres nothing you can do to stop them" (© Derek Llambias 2009), locked up at her Majestys Pleasure or sold on to Everton to bring back some dressing room harmony. This isnt 1993, its not the start of some amazing revolution where theres every chance of becoming the nations second favourite team. What we're doing this time is sneaking back in, its the equivalent of us managing to get that last minute equalizer at Villa, a last gap phew we've made it moment and we're not really going down. We'll sneak back into the League and hope nobody notices us, Mike gets to have some away days at nicer stadiums with a better buffet while real football chairmen, men who are in charge of the kind of turnovers Derek is can stand there and make idle chitter chatter with him about the weather, state of the economy etc and then laugh all evening about the naive spiv who hasnt got a clue but gave us another 3 points today. Us fans however will get to see some proper teams play us, teams who we, as a football club always deserve to be in the same league as, not the sheer dross we've had as competition this season, thats when we'll find out just how big the gulf has become. It may not be pretty viewing. You may joke about it but frankly you're the worst kind of fan, yes we all have opinions and we're all entitled to them. Regardless of how you want to make out my replies to you, they are not because of your different opinion, theyre because frankly I dont see you as a fan. You made big noises about how you'd never step foot in that ground again as long as Ashley was there then you stick by that principle by not attending games until this point. Whether you go on Monday or not is irrelevant, you know fine well that come the opening day and Man U roll into town you'll be there with the wife and bairn, cheering and shouting. Watching "proper football" not wasting your money on the likes of Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Preston, Derby, Watford... I could go on and name the other 16 teams but none of them would ignite the football sense like Man U, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Hull. The rest of us here have turned up for every game, we're not sooopafans, we're just fans and come Monday we'll be there cheering and rejoicing in the fact we've escaped this god foresaken league. Difference between us and you though is that we'd have been here Monday even if it was a relegation dogfight. You'd be sat here shouting about how we're all idiots and the only way to get rid of him is to boycott, if you'd had your way we wouldnt have been celebrating promotion on Monday but sitting in mid table mediocrity because make no mistake the fans who turned up need to take a good whack of the credit for this season. That unbeaten home record would not have existed if on the 15th August the team had ran out to a half empty stadium.

I hope so too mate.

Sadly my friend, you're not the chairman. So I reckon Kev, Smithy and Butt will all get renewed contracts, Jonas, Colo, Taylor will be sold and we'll purchase a couple of championship quality players to join the others we already have.. reeeeesult, a balance sheet which shows us making a player profit while the bank account tells a totally different story. Still thats progress for you.
-
And we'll see you the season after as well in the Championship
-
phew! At least now we've got the wrong people not doing the spending, win win
-
Actually BBC have us playing 2 games and not losing any... Didnt manage that under Shepherd
-
Good old BBC, got us on a par with Pompey
-
Thats the thing kidda, I look at our 500k per week losses and thank my lucky stars we arent Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal. With their big name players and outlays on Europe and the likes.
-
Sorry lads, my fault. Forgot to put the bairns top on, did it ten minutes ago Best apologise to Hughton n'all
-
Im not sure how you get that conclusion tbh, without turning this into a Leazes post, under the previous regime you knew that whoever was in charge could go out and spend if/when they needed to. Not a chance in this one. If we're talking about the squad then In direct comparison we have 2004 Now Given Harper or more importantly in reserve keeper we had Harper and now have Krul Shearer Shola Bellamy Carroll (although there are some off-field similarities ) Robert Jonas (I like Jonas but hes no Laurent). Milner Routledge Speed Butt I could go on.
-
Fucking hell lads We've been behind a couple of times this season and still pissed the game. chillax maaaan
-
Hadaway and shite, maybe if he'd said something like "from 2004 to 2009" but to make out that it was a joke of a club during times, he as a player could only dream of is a bit rich.

I dunno if he gets the right football people backing it he could do all right; Nicky Butt, Pep Guarde-L'eau-la, Bill "Armitage" Shanksly? Good shout that. I reckon Danny Shittu would be my No2 choice though. Thinking outside the box, you could do worse than Nwankwo. -
And that should go for the MD as well.

I dont get why you've all hijacked my thread on groundbreaking research tools to talk about daft April Fools pranks, childish it is really.
