  1. And his reaction if he scores. Opinion is split over how big a part he played in instigating the move and I think a lot of people are undecided about him. If he does a Lee Clark (who scored against us a couple of times but never celebrated) then maybe people will be placated. If he kisses the badge... Hope we don't get to find out obviously. And yes, I realise he probably couldn't give a shit.
  2. cant stand man u and would have anyone win it apart from them. it would be nice for arsenal to win because of the fantastic football they play. for the same reason i would like blackpool to stay up I used to think that too but Arsenal simply do not deserve to win the league with their approach that has failed them consistently over the last five years, most of which is due to Wenger, who is an irritating whining shitbag. Love the Fabregas (also a twat) interview this week where he says that Wenger would have been sacked ages ago if he was managing a team of similar status in Spain. ("misquoted", obviously ).
  3. Not really common practice tbh, if you think it's fractured then you x ray it. Might wait for swelling to go down before operating on it though. Kevin - I can't really give you advice over the internet. If it's giving you a lot of trouble you should get it looked at.
  4. Nice work if you can get it etc but no-one fits the job title better of "professional oxygen thief" than Callum Best.
  5. I think he was struck by some rotten luck, however that was in addition to some shocking decisions.
  6. Think the best off there is the "When Harry met Sulley". The majority are terrible though. WTF is the Shearer Matrabix thing all about?!
  7. Y'know, when (not if) I'm a gazillionairre the first things I'm going to buy are a bunch of spice balls (wtf?) and a bullet proof fish tank.
  8. Seems a bit odd seeing a football shirt with an alcoholic drink as a sponsor these days. Although less surprising for a team from Glasgow.
  9. indeed, don't think anyone really gives a fuck about it, long as neither of them back out to ruin the free day off. Or if they do get cold feet hopefully it's on the day so it's too late to bring ya into work With all the planning etc that goes into such a thing, even if they bottled it now there's no way you'd have to go to work.
  10. Can't remember if I mentioned it before but being a martial arts master and doctor I stayed a few times at a house in Chorlton, Manchester where a bunch of my mates used to live which was also the childhood home of the Bee Gees. Whilst my friends were living there The One Show did a piece about it and brought Barry for a look around and a reminisce. He pointed out an area at the bottom of the stairs where, apparently, his sister once spontaneously combusted. fyp Har Har. Actually the first time I stayed there was my first day off since I started working as a doctor (9 days in!). I slept for at least 75% of the weekend. It was August '08, I remember watching Usain Bolt take the gold in the 100m at Beijing on the Saturday.
  11. I have a bit of a soft spot for Houllier because he sort of (don't ask me how) reminds me of my late grandmother. I suspected that his tenure as Villa boss wasn't going to end well, although I didn't think it would be due to ill health. He does look noticeably older then when he was last managing in this country. He left Liverpool seven years ago I know, but still.
  12. You're ugly ignorance doesn't get any better does it? Houllier may have suffered the fans displeasure at Liverpool a few times, but his heart condition was not of the stress kind. LuckyLuke(?) can educate you better than I can, he seems to know what he's talking about. If anyone has stress related health problems why go in to a stressful job? Houllier, just like Kinnear, chose to do jobs that will always be stressful even if their teams are successful. Tbh the stress response is a very broad and wide ranging process that can contribute to all manner of diseases and conditions, although it is 'traditionally' associated with ischaemic heart disease (ie angina and heart attacks). Not sure if Stevie is referring to Houiller getting the sack in 2004 rather than his health problems (he took ill following a game at Leeds in 2001). I found Joe Kinnear having to undergo coronary artery surgery months after taking the job with us almost comical in its predictability, he should never have contemplated taking a job here with his history and the chaos that was at a peak when he took the job, and still continues. But I guess he's got to earn a living.

  14. Grass is always greener and that but plenty of Arsenal fans want a new manager, the same problems have been prevailing at Arsenal for years. Six years without a trophy for them now isn't it? Obviously nothing compared to the wait we're still enduring but considering they've been amongst the top three for so long yet still consistently fail to get over the line shows that something isn't right. I was not remotely surprised when they failed to beat Birmingham in the League Cup.
  15. Just kick Nadal in the knee and he'd cry like a girl.
  16. It wasn't a heart attack he had at Liverpool - it was aortic dissection. The lining of the main blood vessel from your heart splits in two and can tear into the heart or away from it and plug off arteries to your brain, limbs, guts etc. Can be very fatal very quickly. Houllier had an operation to fix it in 2001. I don't really know what recurrence rates for dissection are like so I dunno how likely that it's due to this or something else.
  17. Doin' a bit of plumming on the side, was he? Could well have been, what with his fondness of celebrating great sporting achievements with mundane household chores.
  18. Easy on the quotes, think of the database man!
  19. Alan Shearer trying to finish what he started in 1998 iyam.
