  1. I was gonna say they seemed very reasonable and level headed - especially regarding Liverpool, in contrast to of course the mackems and surprisingly the Man City fans you asked - until I read that guy's answer about fans.
  2. Well done to Pardew, I was livid when we sacked Hughton for him but he's been immense from the off. Re players leaving, I'd like to think that seeing the club is a lot better placed than when they arrived, the likes of Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa will want to stay at a club that is on the up. I'm slightly worried that Pardew keeps saying that if Real/Man U etc come waving wads of cash then that will be that, I can only hope that the club does not PLAN to sell these players in the hope they can continually unearth young, cheap talent. A lot has been made of our success with this group after flogging our previous matchwinners but to do this on a consistent, cycling basis as some have suggested requires an incredible scouting network and a lot of luck, and I doubt that it is a model for continual improvement.
  3. Will he get one? I knows he's been here more than ten years but he's been a fringe/reserve player for most of that. Hope he does though.
  4. It's clearly not useless but evolution/god really needs to do something about the uterus, utterly spiteful twat of an organ that makes countless womens' lives a misery. And what the fuck is it with childbirth, what should be a normal, safe and pleasing way of giving life is an agonising and physically and mentally draining ordeal that despite the advances of modern medicine can still be a lethal game of Russian Roulette thanks to the tendency of the womb to bleed like a stuck pig. Had a woman on ICU last week, first baby, low risk, normal delivery, everything going fine than bang, massive, uncontrollable life threatening haemorrhage and next thing she knows she's had an emergency hysterectomy. What a cunt.
  5. This forum is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to making god awful puns.
  6. Fish quoting their lyrics on the first page of this thread.
  7. I like international football, there's something invigourating about seeing players competing for national pride (I'm not so naive to think that's all they're competing for, but still) and at least we're spared the sort of debates that we've been having about City buying the title. And I like England and I want them to win. Even if the current lot are crap wankers and the media are morons. Although its very difficult to see past that a lot of the time. I've posted before that although i wanted them to progress two years ago, there was almost something satisfying about seeing the overhyped cretins get a twatting off Germany. But deep down, I'm still an England fan and I want them to win.
  8. I think it's good to see another team winning the title and deposing Man Utd, who in recent times have had a financial advantage over everyone esle- until Chelsea came along with a bigger financial advantage - even if it is by a team that has achieved this with a bigger financial advantage, and I don't begrudge City fans the enjoyment of doing so. I do feel a bit like ewerk/Stevie, that it is a bit hollow, that it could have happened to anyone, but that's what football is sadly. It's just a question of how much money clubs are willing to throw at the team. City have obviously thrown a lot more money at the team (comparisons to us trying to 'buy' the league in the 90s are a bit ridiculous imo) although it has taken them time to reach the top (it looks like) and only just at that, and their CL performances this season show that it might take a while for them to succeed there. But there is a grim inevitablity about it all. But like I said, that's just how football is now.
  9. Channel 5 hardly helped matters by displaying the score as "ATH 0-0 ATL". Or was it the other way around?!
  10. So have I, was certain that he was going to score against City. Sadly these feelings be they romantic or what don't always come to fruition - which I guess makes the times they do all the sweeter - but it would be fucking awesome if they did this time.
  11. There's that lack of insight again. For someone whose main criticism of anyone is that there boring, there's nowt like another chapter of The World According To Stevie to prompt me to skim read a thread.
  12. O the great Stevie had spoken, consider me put in my place. Irony of ironies is you accuse me of the very things (arrogance, being precious and patronising) that I pulled you up on which started this little encounter. You're a complete cock and stunningly lacking in insight. Now go back to abusing regions/countries/ethnic minorities you horrible self important bastard.
  13. Yeah in the season we finished fourth (1st season with Bellamy/Robert) coming back from behind to win was sort of our speciality.
  14. I apologise if it was tongue in cheek, obviously i know that comment was your general attitude to Blackburn doesn't seem so. And I'd make a joke about your profession only you work in recruitment as i recall so it's a bit difficult, you fucking dullard. Feel touched that you all feel the need to reference mine every five minutes, you're all terribly original.
  15. Patronising bollocks, the sort of which when used to describe us by the media drives us all mental. Clubs can and should always have aspirations.
  16. I knew that would be the case so stuck the snooker on as soon as the final whistle went.
  17. It's just a shame that with all our last ditch heroics earlier in the game that we were a bit slow to react to close down Toure for his first and mark him for the second. Still it's a big ask to get everything right every time against a third of a billion's worth of talent.
  18. Final/through balls/set pieces have been underhit all day.
  19. Nah started a foot outside post, no chance. "Little Shane" on, cue CT semi.
  20. Bollocks. Come on, 20 minutes to go, we can still do this.
