  1. As loath as I am to agree with Pacinofan, it doesn't take a genius to see why Liverpool fans don't like being called 'wallpushers' really does it? It's a bit different from 'bindippers'. If you'd used 'murderers' I don't think you would have really complained about being banned, and in terms of what they mean the phrases are virtually identical.
  2. Considering you've got an underscore where there should be a space in your username, maybe you should reign in the pedantry, you smug twat.
  3. Anaesthetists make jokes about surgeons, surgeons make jokes about physicians, physicians make jokes about A & E doctors, who make jokes about GPs. Doctors aren't really allowed to make jokes about nurses, but nurses make jokes about each other. When all's said and done we're all playing for the same team doing different things for different people so petty point scoring like this is pretty silly really.
  4. It's a good job Britain fits nicely into that right angled bit of the northwest corner.
  5. I wouldn't trust anyone to do that any more than I'd trust them to intubate the patient!
  6. By handing instruments to the anaesthetist.
  7. I was working in the daycase unit yesterday. As it was Children in Need, all the nursing staff were wearing pyjamas. If it wasn't for the fact we only do children on Fridays it would have been very difficult to distinguish between patients and staff!
  8. "how did you prepare for this interview?" sounds like something you'd ask someone who looked completely unprepared.
  9. Sounds like she was just helping out a friend who asked for her advice, and she was too stupid or uncaring to realise the consequences this could have. The other bloke is a bit of a cunt for asking her tbh (assuming he knows of her relationship with JJC and his desire for the job, using their friendship to put pressure on her to compromise her loyalty. HF is completely wrong, including his amateur psychoanalysis on what JJC 'needs'. What he actually needs is people to sympathise with him as he vents his spleen, so he can get on with preparing without this clouding over him.
  10. I think if you don't even respect someone enough to tell them to fuck off in their own language then the ban should be trebled .
  11. Well you just have to look at the police involvement re racist words to see what WOULD happen. As to what SHOULD happen, I think players can reasonably expect to play without fear of deliberate attempts to maim them. If I was playing football, rugby or even a martial art in any context and some cunt deliberately stamped on my ankle or knee whilst I laid on the floor and shattered it I'd be pressing charges, and considering the resulting lengthy surgery and recovery I'd probably sue him to boot. Obviously this is Suarez we're talking about here who is of course an epic cunt and if anybody does deserve that sort of thing to happen to him he does, but I wouldn't want Colo banned for months or in the clink as payment. Re Keane I thought of that yesterday, but Haaland didn't want to take it further, did he? And wasn't that a tackle (albeit a nasty, dangerous premeditated one) rather than a stamp on a prone man. Plus football has come a long way since then - remember Ben Thatcher's 8(?) game ban for polaxing Pedro Mendez.
  12. I sort of do but I think in all honesty I'm glad he didn't. If a footballer ever makes proper (and i mean proper, knee snapping) contact with an opponent on the floor from a stamp then he'd be looking at a lengthy if not permanent ban and the possibility of a spell at Her Maj's Pleasure.
  13. Skyfall. Nothing special despite the hype. Frim the trailers I thought they had a decent premise to be going on with, but rather than take it in that direction they just went with the Typical cartoon bad guy with typical motives with a Plot that had holes you could drive an underground train through. Good set pieces to dress it all up as you'd expect which made it entertaining if a little long, but it's firmly in the "good fun but no bloody good" section for me, just like the preceding 20 odd film.
  14. What happened?! As far as I can tell they did not follow 'the rules of engagement' - whatever they are - and an Afghan insurgent ended up dead. Does that mean they shot an insurgent who had already surrendered? Was it a mistake or a result of nervousness in a tense situation? Or was it a case of something more sinister - the fact it arose from something civilian police found on laptop of one the soldiers is a bit concerning, as is that so many are implicated. have tremendous appreciation for the armed forces and the work they do (even if I don't always agree with why they're doing it), but there have been incidents in throughout history where soldiers, like anybody else, abuse the power that they have and perform malicious acts. In the news today there are reports of shows of support across the country for the marines ("free the five" ribbons etc). With so much unknown about the case I find myself a little uncomfortable with this, of course they are innocent until proven otherwise though. Do you think the marines should be held to account for what they do (even if it's against the enemy)?
  15. The current Mrs LL is actually very intelligent, interpreter for the EU. Knowledge is a different thing from intelligence though...
  16. Apollo 13. Brilliant as ever. Amusement when I made some reference to Mrs LL about the flight going tits up being yet more confirmation that Bill Paxton is The Unluckiest Man In Cinema (killed by Predator/Alien/Terminator, doesn't find Titanic diamond, touches up government agent's bird in True Lies etc), she chastised me for "giving the end away". Further questioning revealed she was unaware that the film was based on true events, and although she was familiar with the immortal line "Houston we have a problem" she thought it just came from the film. The end would have been a nice surprise for her, had she kept awake. gah. Reminiscent of an ex bursting into tears at the end of United 93 because she thought they were going to make it. The stupid cow.
  17. The issue was some racist chanting at a football match, which I condemned, yet you chose it as a platform to decry an entire country as war criminals. Yes you probably should have qualified your statements but you didn't. Anyway, fuck it, I've had enough your shit, I have better things to do with my time than exchange insults with you,and listen to you spout racist bollocks on every subject regardless of your ignorance of it. Bye
  18. You've missed the point entirely, you utter fucking cretin. It was an atrocity. However it wasn't carried out by my grandparents, or my aunts, my uncles or my cousins, who funnily enough thought it was an atrocity too. Yet they are Serbs and according to your tiny racist mind that extends the actions of some members of a population to its entirety this puts them amongst the worst people ever. And despite having this pointed out to you time and time again, you keep generalising because that's the way your xenophobic brain works. Gemmill's right, I shouldn't have to come on here and read this shit, and as long you're left unchecked to carry on in this way, let alone revered on here for being some sort of man-of-the-people then I won't bother. Save your 'cowardly' 'little' pseudo violent intimadatory language btw, all it does is scream "I'm a moron so I'm resorting to this" and it doesn't scare anybody.
  19. It heartens me to know that despite hardly posting on here for months I knew after writing the above that 1. You'd back me up re Serbia and 2. Would do so almost immediately despite it being 2am.
  20. Knew I'd come on here to find a load of anti serb stuff. Of course, any racist abuse is utterly deplorable and if there is evidence that the Serb fans did so then they should be punished accordingly. And clearly the football crowds unfortunately do have a significant hooligan and racist element to them, like Britain did not so long ago, and depending where you sit in what ground still exists today. Chelsea and Anton Ferdinand, for example. But then broad generalisations on the behaviour and attitudes of an entire country are racist also. I'm not just talking about xenephobic, knuckle dragging, ignorant and loudmouth dickheads like Stevie dishing out "the worst people in Europe" (I'll pass that on to my family, thank you) but stuff I've read in the press also refer to the Serbian people as one, homogenous racist entity. Every condemnation by most reasonable people of Islamic fundamentalists is rightly qualified with "of course, the vast majority of muslims are tolerant, peace loving and condemn the actions of extremists" yet this is a luxury never afforded to the Serbs, if you want to make them the bad guys in your film/TV series/newspaper articles then it's open season.
