  1. It means I understand why they're morons. Ok that was a bit over the top/inflammatory. I really don't get the swanning off to make a handfuls of appearances at clubs in cities where his wife wants to go shopping in the twilight of his career contributes to his greatness though. Yes it is admirable that he didn't just sit on his cash in LA, and didn't look a fat mess, but not doing so are hardly in the criteria of being a great in my eyes.
  2. How mental is it arguing the ludicrousness of the ABSCENCE of a device that instantly teleports you from A to B? It's a film ffs.
  3. care to put any more words in my mouth? Fine striker of a dead ball and as you say, worked hard wherever he went (even if it was just to keep him in shape for his pants adverts), but in my opinion a very good player as opposed to a great. Of course it's all arbitrary and subjective, but I feel associating him with greatness is a (perhaps understandable) slight overreaction in an effort to emphasise the footballing credentials of a talented player who became increasingly famous for (and in recent years, let's be frank, more interested in) what he did off the pitch.
  4. Slightly hyperbolic by Waddle but he's right, anyone who regards Beckham as a "great" is a moron.
  5. I'm not saying you shouldn't pay for a season ticket - but when you're treated like consumers then you should retain the rights of them and be allowed to leave whenever you want and not be subjected to emotional blackmail for being disloyal. You pay such huge amounts of money, what the fuck do you have to be loyal for?
  6. The clubs/league/players/Sky really do have the fans by the bollocks, don't they? You pay through the nose to give up your Saturday a bunch of millionaires play a game if they can be arsed, and fans tear each other apart for leaving when the players feel like they can't be bothered.
  7. There are loads of shit charities, most of them to do with animals.
  8. Dragged out into the desert, covered in marmalade and eaten alive by ants tbh.
  9. Would be a nice way of Benitez giving his employers and fans the finger, but lets face it, who wants to see Chelsea win? Just turned over "John Terry there, who is injured, but we understand that if Chelsea win, he will be involved in the celebrations" No shit!
  10. It didn't look like it, but whatever.
  11. Is it? Looked pretty assured in the example in the first post.
  12. I remember reading something by a Forest fan when they got bum raped 8-1 by Man Utd at home. It was along the lines of "I've never left a game early before and always hated those that did, but when the sixth went in I thought "this is just self harm"". I certainly wouldn't begrudge anyone leaving in such circumstances.
  13. Reading between the lines he was dribbling his football on a road and not paying enough attention to the traffic. Obviously it's sad for his family to lose him so young, but so much morbidity and mortality of major trauma (with subsequent expenditure of healthcare resources) is the consequence of people doing stupid things such as this or driving like arseholes.
  14. Chelsea & Arsenal could play off for 3rd: http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/22537372
  15. It's getting to the point where I barely recognise this sort of thing as news now.
  16. It's not just their failures but the manner of them. They've not just been pipped to the league, they've been absolutely blown out of the water. They didn't just go out of the CL after a decent run, they finished bottom of their group. And with such huge failures on their record this season they then couldn't bring themselves up to rescue a tiny bit of pride by beating a Wigan side that look odds on to be relegated. I think it's difficult to recreate the sort of spirit and legacy Ferguson did just by throwing money around, and Mancini did win the title last year, but he's clearly out of ideas and his 'blame anyone but me' interviews show he's lost the plot.
  17. Is it mental? City have been gash this year, on all fronts.
  18. Youd think that after 26 years and being in his seventies Fergie would actually want to retire rather than still having ongoing responsibility with the club
  19. You'll thank me one day Fist. It might come up in a pub quiz or something.
  20. You can do it purely under local but we Tiva with a lma first, local in, get down to the brain and then turn off the pumps and pull the larry once awake. once theyve done the mapping you can either stay awake or go back to sleep. Done similar stuff before with carotids (although we intubate, keep the remi on and the tube stays in)
