  1. Trippier and targett are way way better than the players they replaced. Trippers delivery is top class.
  2. rumours are we are after carrasco from athletico madrid. proper player. i do hope so...
  3. sadly makes sense. think of all the clubs that signed up to that failed hyperleague, that got called out for what it was, they'll be the people that don't want to deal with us. spurs, arsenal, man red, liverpoo, Juve, real and Barca, to name just a few of them.
  4. its all short term. Digne is a talented player but defensively suspect, and clearly doesn't like being told to be a Benitez style left back ( more focus on defensive than offensive). if it were me, i'd go to Villa short term and see how the season pans out then jump ship and join Newcastle when / if they are safe, and have a top 8 challenging team... (2024 onwards perhaps). even then i doubt he is good enough to push on towards a champions league place, or to fit in a side that does that.
  5. any other centre backs/fullbacks/ goalkeepers/ midfielders/forwards of decent quality on our radar. i'm sure we could get an entirely better 1-11 if we had the minerals to do it...
  6. good to see leicesters defence doing what it does best yesterday. a second string Napoli could have scored 6 against that. their left side is way short in the defence. i do hope we get something against them. their fans are moaning about westergard and bertram, coming in and not really being good enough. even jonny evans is playing awfully...
  7. i'd hope so. Napoli are a bit like them inasmuch as their form is patchy, but they will always find a chance to score against a very porous defence. Evans alays has a mistake in him.
  8. nows the time. hopefully. having said that their best assett is their coach. a lot of their players are past it, inconsistent or crocks. Calvert lewin, whilst very good is not the messiah.
  9. The lad has a bizarre first touch, decent vision, and a good level of work rate. his issue is that he is running himself into the ground. he won't be able to sustain this. basically if he finished like willock you'd have 2 very dynamic attacking threats. we don't have a 4-3-2-1 formation at the moment but he would probably be best either side of the 2 if that make sense. the feeder rather than the scorer.... oo er.
  10. The athletic is occasionally pretty forward thinking, genuinely surprised that Bruce's name would be even remotely thought of, i mean i know he was one of their players in the 90's but doesn't mean anyone with at least 2 brain cells would employ him in any capacity at all in a football club.
  11. totally agree. points to a coach playing a player in his best position and motivating him correctly.... funny that.
  12. thats where i was going. bit like that thick mug at chelsea, Ross Barkley. good for half a season then gets figured out.
  13. Elif elmas for the win, wonderful player. happy for a namechange to Tinofbeans...
  14. they won't sell this season (Napoli) Mertens is about 2 seasons past his best. which probably means he walks into our first team.
  15. he surely has to have finished that with a phrase around the fact that persistently he made teams worse, and bankrolled his pie budget with clauses in his contract that said he should be paid off in ginsters vouchers.
  16. his best position was as a second forward able to release other players into the spaces he'd take up. trouble is this was when he was coached by a decent coach. old cabbage head hasn't helped him. not that i'm saying he's much cop or suited to the premier league.
  17. totally agree. the new coach will realise he hasn't really got much of an option really.
  18. until January, when we won't possibly replace him, as he is the one player that can consistently cause mayhem and unlock defences, i can't see us having any option. i mean he is basically the best dribbler in the league and his end product is improving. the trouble is the rest of the team are so limited they can't get the best out of him (nt of course including Wilson).
  19. too easy a ride for my liking. his track record with 7 clubs is persistent. he makes them worse and then scuttles off and gets himself a new job. we are the 8th club he's come to that he;s done the same thing. given a budget, been lucky in a few games and been out thought and played by teams that if we had the team set up properly, we'd have come away with more. even with the team we have now we have several players that i think don't get what little he's telling them. also Jamie redknapps sky stuff. how is that guy on tv, he's an absolute moron. you can't defend the indefensible.
