  1. my take, is that the coach has fitted a few square pegs in round holes for a while. playing full backs at wing back. playing out of form players, and hoping they would snap back into form. 2 holding midfielders with rice being a 4 and 6.... safety first. no quality back up in a number of positions. relying on an inconsistent Kane, and having sterling playing despite his relative form. must be tough as certain players perform best in certain systems and it was clear that the couple of days coaching southgate and the team imparted hadn't really sunk in.
  2. maguires performance was abject. helped set up 2 german goals. Bellingham, Saka and Mount are the future of this england team and Rice worked his socks off. don't know what sterling was doing, his touch, speed of thought and decision making are that of a championship player. he's really just quick... Pope was not on a good day.
  3. about 4 years past his best. but will be as good as their other no 9. i.e. post head trauma, not very good.
  4. oh that would have been funny. ASM mad a defensive full pack look like a muppet. TAA is not in the same league as walker defensively.
  5. think we've got to frustrate them for the entire game or write it off and build for the weekend. one or the other. can't see us winning unless we get lucky. we still lack a cutting edge.
  6. exactly this. i think the best thing is to avoid this Edwards chap as he is less use than an ashtray on a speedboat.
  7. how long is the current injury keeping him out? his form going into this week was excellent. will be missed against the Bin dippers.
  8. Rakitic is about 5 years past his best. Nah. focus on younger and hungrier players….
  9. His Everton sides tended to play the same way and get figured out with in 12 months, then he’d rejuvenate and they’d back up the table. if we use that logic they’ll finish about 13th this year. I just think they have had a slow start. I fear paqueta may well not suit his style of play….
  10. i'd rather both. greedy. but Hudson Odoi offers more flexibility, Pulisic is better in one position and hides when he gets a kicking. both inconsistent.
  11. yep. their midfield is very disjointed. Pogba has moved from a bin fire to a nuclear reactor meltdown, Juve looked awful last night.
  12. on his day. Martial is a one trick pony, Sancho plays more on the right, Rashford had until last night forgotten how to play football.
  13. see Nemanja matic. he can't even keep up with the slow tempo of serie A. basically they are paying 350k a week for a player with declining mobility and timing. good news for people that enjoy seeing Man utd drop down the table. if teams (such as ours) play fast transition football he probably won't be near the ball.
  14. what does gordon do that pulisic doesnt? less of a goal threat, falls over a lot and is not actually that good.
  15. looking at really consistent premier league performers, wondering why we haven't taken a look at Leandro Trossard. he is in great form and causes all sorts of problems and is very consistent. also only 12 months on his contract....
  16. £15m player in todays market place. so inconsistent, and injury prone.
  17. Yep, this. Can play either flank or wing back. Would be very useful.
  18. hoping for a 1-0 win then. i can see city if they get an early goal, smashing us...
  19. haha, reliant robin to a ford fiesta ecotec. he ain't that good. but i agree he has more end product than Almiron.
  20. full of bloatware and crashes regularly?
  21. different players. apples and oranges. the dead ball delivery of Maddison and his willingness to experiment and deliver a final pass and or score means he needs less defensive responsibility. think with what Howe wants, he'd rather take Paqueta, though Maddison is probably one of the top 3 at what he does in the premier league.
  22. left footers with technical ability can play on both sides, and his recovery runs (for when he or St max have lost the ball are good), its just, end product, and vision and thinking ahead. that goal from last season was pretty much a fluke..... pace isn't everything in this game. never doubting the lads work rate, more end product... he could have assisted twice and scored twice if he were more thoughtful.
  23. lad's not all there. referencing this bloke for any footballing wisdom is like asking helen keller for fashion tips.
