What do we need? 1) An astute chairman that treats the club with the respect it deserves has the ability to drum up large amounts of money and will allow a decent manager to manage the team and transfer activity. Also someone that doesn’t just pocket money for mis directing the club (unlike the current incumbent Chairman). 2) A manager that has tactical variety and the ability to mould the team in to a team that wants to play for each other. Rather than the bickering overhyped pricks that currently occupies our first team. 3) Someone to look at why our training ground is so much different to our pitch, and why it causes so many injuries. And to change it. 4) A team captain that leads from the back. Most club captains (that are successful (unlike us)) have a centre back that will lead. Shearer was a good captain for us and England however…. Someone with his strength of mind. 5) Invest in youth and don’t play players out of position, duff is not a centre forward… for example. Titus bramble isn’t a football player full stop…. 6) Get rid of the stupidly high earners. Dyer amongst others earns loads for doing nothing for example. 7) A target man, currently our forward line is (exluding Luque) about 5 foot 3 inches tall. A playmaker who can pass the ball (unlike emre) 2 full backs, and a dominant fast centreback (ledley king would do for me). Obviously a lot of this is if’s and buts, but we could go some way toward achieving this if there is just a little common sense applied.

renton, pele was the greatest footballer ever. zidane was good as well but ultimately was flawed. yes he won a world cup (one could say the final in 98 as part of a great team) and the european cup and italian and spanish leagues, but he was always part of sides that weren't entirely dependant on him. sure he was the outstanding playmaker of his generation, but he was not and never will be the best player ever. Pele scored over 1000 league and cup goals and had a strike rate in internationals of virtually a goal a game (something along the lines of 88 in 89 i think), now i know both were different players but one (pele) is in a different class to the other (zidane). oh and a certain chubby argie cokehead was way better than him as well...

no we don't need shearer back. sven would be good for league position but at every club he's been at he's always improved their league position but has often had a lot of money to spend or a very good set of individuals to begin with. he would not have that here... if i were a good manager i would not touch the toon with a large shit encrusted stick unless i was allowed to do what was needed... (i.e. no fat fred interventions).

i think nobby works best with a coach that gets him going in a motivational sense, but at 32-33 years old his legs will be going a bit, i know mine are! trouble with him is he worked under pigface at villa (despite being their player of the season with countless goals and assists) and a coach that although a nice bloke has no real grasp of tactics here ( especially when the person/ coach that helped get us up to 7th in the league has left). oh and for the record fat fred should go... definitely.
