In my youth I used to smoke a certain type of cigarette. I was at a pals in Heaton and we had run out of milk for the tea (we would smoke drink tea and eat buttered toast). I drew the short straw and had to go to the shop for milk. I really wasnt in any state to converse with anyone so had a plan in my head which was to silently take said milk from fridge put pound on counter take change grunt thanks and leave. However to my surprise and dread when I got to the shop the backward gits didnt have a fridge just a cold counter which the guy stood behind. And for some inexplicable reason the shop was well busy with people obviously there to look for stoned people and report them to the police. Anyway I waited in the queue and there was other people behind me and I was looking at this counter which had loads of milk bottles red top gold top silver top right next to those bottles of orange juice in milk bottle form (you know the ones). So I get to the front of the queue and ask the guy for a bottl;e of milk. He says "what colour" to which i reply in a confused state of mind "A white one please" Everyone behind me just started to p*ss themselves laughing and the shopkeeper asked if I wanted some cigarette papers too. I was really embarrassed.

actually thatis a good question ) The honest answer is that from the limited facts i know about the situation, i think in the long term it COULD turn out the better for NUFC. In principle selling belammy was a good idea, in reality it looks as thought its might be about to fall flat. In the short term, yes i can see that it could turn into a horrendous mistake. Was souness naive/at fault for trusting fat fredy too much?......ie he assumes the chairman would back him for transfers, this summer, which hes failed to do in recent weeks. I think that the chairman is pulling out the carpet from under souness. For reasons i can only speculate on. I am alarmed that we have NOT landed a decent replacement. The reason why is both souness AND shepherd fault, not just the managers. "He bought Bramble and Viana, not Robert and Viana. " SBR did buy robert. Actually i agree we need a robert replacement. LBM is allegedly one, dunno if hes good enough tbh, not watched him enough. Is any one else filled with complete dread. This close season has been awful. I liked the signing of Parker. I think Emre to me is an unknown quantity he is good in Italy but the game is so different. We have let go Ambrose who scored some goals at the end of the season and was a good squad player who could improve. We are looking to sign a fat useless git a lazy git and a workhorse. We have also lost our best attacking optin and someone I wasnt a fan of. Everyone around us seems to have strengthened where we have weakened. I have no optimism about this season. I think we are going to fail horribly and so does Given which is why he hasn't signed a new contract. We have a tactically inept manager the like of which we havent seen since Dogleash and Gullet and at least they had pedigree. This ones a complete mongrel. If we finish higher than we did this season and if we win any of our 1st six games I will come on here and eat humble pie. But I think it's sarnies for me.

Willie Mcfaul was manager when we were a selling club and only there to let McKeag sit on the FA. As much as he wasn't a great manager he wasn't a complete incompetent like Souness is.

Do people still back Souness. Have I missed something. Is there something I am not seeing which makes people think he can improve things. I just see posts on the other boards where people are saying give him time give him time. GIve him time for what?? He has no history of turning a struggling club into a top flight club. In fact his only history near to that is the exact opposite. He doesnt learn from his mistakes either. He has continually not got on with the stars in his team from Liverpool and Rangers through Blackburn to us. He hates people with more ability than he had. In fact he was a bully on the pitch he is a bully off it. When we fold up and die this season (I have no hope left we will do well) I hope all those who gave this utter waste of space their backing will hang their heads in shame at the contribution they have made to our downfall.
