I have a general feeling iof dislike towards film bores. It annoys me that art house films get high praise for being turgid boring crap because they have a deeper hidden meaning and there use of light with the grainy exposure of the film signifies man's existence. I like films to entertain me or being academically fulfilling.

The Tenant is a superb film. Quite amusing in places as well. Have you seen Repulsion? I watched it a few weeks back, and I think it might possibly be my favourite Polanski. Well, that or Chinatown. Catherine Deneuve gives such an intricate performance. I'd be interested to know what you make of the very last scene (if you've seen it). Polanski is a brilliant actor (in The Tenant) too. I've not seen Repulsion, no. Just got (and finished) this box set, now this one is on order, I'll be going for this one last. What are the films in that second set?
