Scottish politics not your strong point then? Perhaps I was being a bit strong but he seems to have moved a long way from his socialist roots in recent times. It is cheaper to be a student in Scotland than anywhere else in Britain. pensioners don't pay for a lot. pretty soon no one will pay prescription charges. Our council tax for lower end families is coming down. We have in Scottish hydro elctric the cheapest fuel provider in Britain. Just defeated Tory and Lib Dem bill to de nationalise the water company. When the Tories win the next westminster elections it will gift Scotland to the Nats. In which case watch the moves toward becoming completely self sufficient in hydro wind and wave electricity. Just a shame you're thirty years too late in being self sufficient in oil really Oil runs out. And wait til independance kicks in. It'll be fucking brilliant. I can't wait to see how you lot get on without the massive subsidies the English give you. Aye but when we go the oil goes with us. See how much you subsidise us then!!

I thought it was quality too I just love Joy Division. However when I listen to bands from that period and culture it makes me despise the meaningless soulless bilge people listen to today. Yes I am that old. -

Control. Fucking brilliant. -
In my opinion. Kirkland is not as good as Harper (toon specs). Beckham is playing in a below championship level league and not been setting the world alight. Also will he really be there for the world cup which is what we are building for now?

Nothing is "up". It is all blatantly bollocks and Wacky I can give you my number to give the lad and I will tell him he is a liar. The one piece of evidence everyone overlooks on a daily basis is that Ashley paid £100 million off our debt. The only other money man to do that was Abramovic. If he wanted to sell for a profit it would cost too much. If he wanted to make money you have to get in the CL or at least europe. This whole idea of buying cheap and selling on is probably because the youngsters feel threatened by the talk of bringing better ones in. And yes I have worked in an environment of rumours. I used to invent them for a laugh. My favourite was about bringing uniforms into t-mobile.

You can like music from a previous era you know Although The Specials, Selector, The Beat and early Madness are my era I do like the original sound of Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan, The Skatalites and Desmond Decker. With some Ska reggae crossover too. I pretty much like most of what came out of Jamaica.

They were around the same time? I quite liked some stuff by the Selecter. Not listened to it for a while like. Assuming thats what you mean Hopefully. May be referring to some of that third wave stuff... Hell no first and second wave only with some rock steady thrown in for good measure.

No I couldn't watch Gladiator when I realised Joaquin Phoenix was in it I thought it was canny good tbf. I thought he was decent in it too. Some of it is hilariously camp and OTT but that's not always a bad thing imo. I don't know what it is about Phoenix but the sight of him just makes me want to shake him firmly by the face. Proves he's a good baddie. No a good baddie is a one you love and want to win like in Prince of Thieves which is what Phoenix was badly trying to imitate in Gladiator.

Britain were in control of Egypt from 1912 onwards. Declared independent in the 20s iirc. Hence the word defacto. Ok smartarse I did this period in GCSE so I had to look it up as my facts were a bit sketcy. However the Anglo-Egyptian treaty of 1936 saw nearly all British troops leave Egypt with only enough to keep an eye on Suez remaining. ROTLA starts in 1936. Therefore the 'de facto' rule you speak of had ceased to exist when the action in Egypt was taking place. Ok? Cracking film anyway, eh? However the main British med fleet was moved to alexandria at about the same time meaning britain had control of all shipping in and out But yes a great film never the less. And since when has hollywood ever bothered about history or even facts. Aye, I bet the Ark isn't even in Egypt I remember watching Troy and watching menelaus getting stabbed and thinking "fuck me how are they going to get him to recover from that". When I realised they weren't going to bother I switched it off.

I am sure Kevin Spacey picks some shite films purely for the fun of overacting his arse off in them. -
