£300+ Newcastle to London if you get one of the first trains. Twice as cheap to fly. £300 on the train to London? Is that one-way? I never use the train so can't comment but I will anyway, that's massive money for a 4 hour journey. Oh aye, for long commutes without book in advance is bad. Whats also bad is you can save money by splitting the journey up. I.e Leeds to Newcastle, Ive saved loads in the past by getting tickets for Leeds to York, then York to Newcastle. Its the same train, yet sometimes Ive saved £30. Its shit like this that shouldnt be allowed.

Prices of trains tbh arent bad at all IMO. From Horsfoth to Leeds its £2.80 return. On a bus it would be £4+!

Look at the trains how? An industry that the government neglected for decades then when it was dropping to bits didn't have the cash to fix it up. Same with the water industry (although it was well undersold). Look at what has happened with NI Water. Stamp prices are regulated and this would remain in place should anyone come in for it. More concerned about the impact on Post Offices. Tories will tell you that if you don't like not having a post office, you should just move nearer one. You can imagine it- drop your mail off or buy postage from automated kiosks in your nearest supermarket, everyone come move to dismal orbital towns. The Tories were the first to say they were going to pump millions into the rail network years before Labour got in and then them cunts go in and promised the same. Post Office and RM do massive things in the rural areas, no doubt all this will be stopped or charged for, fucking disgrace.
