The majority of my mates are fine as they all race etc. Its the lads I work with, after work on a Friday we usually go for a drink, yet they still dont understand why and how I can sit there and have a soda and lime or a lemonade. I am not one for drinking at home either, unless we do have friends for dinner, then I like a glass of wine. I did however a few weeks back after a stressful week have a couple of whiskies, just a nice relaxing drink.

I can happily be sober for months, especially during my cycling season. The problem I have is around some mates who seem to think I am odd for not drinking, so I usually see them less during the season

I may have cycled into work and forgot my locker key, so I am sat here in my lycra

Buzzing today. First ride on the bike since I broke my wrist 6 weeks ago. Its sore and needs the strength building back up, but that 9km or so felt great

drop them Kg and you will be flying kid! Aye, the trainer road thing is amazing. I love using my Sufferfest videos with it as you can get a more accurate efficient workout with it.

Haha PMSL Thats a canny FTP lad! You have done the right things so thats ok. In terms of a HR strap aye. You will need a blueooth dongle in your PC / Laptop, I have a Suunto Mini and pair it with my Garmin HR strap

All you have to do is take your rear QR skewer out and replace it with the Tacx one and thats it. Calibrate it, you should have instructions on how to do it. Then it should be there with TrainerRoad. Do the ramp test for TR after a day or so rest and then you will get a better, truer value. When I have been given the OK from the specialist for my wrist I will be doing a ramp test to see where I am. I am dreading it also

Something major like that Stevie man aint gonna be over in a week. Slowly does it, the rewards of beers will be there later, but at the moment, one step at a time man. You will do it. You have loads of support on here and with your family so you're far from alone.

In the pub at lunch and we were talking about football games. I mentioned the game v Man United and beating them 5-0. Young lad looked at me and asked when that was. He was only 4 bless him. Sent him a link to the match. Wow, memories. But something really stood out, the pen claim by Poborsky. Today, I would say he gets that for deffo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofK3WwdUZHo

Went to the Indian Takeaway last night. Got a Balti, guy tipped it in a carrier bag. I complained he said "We are not allowed to put Indians in containers any more"
