We've become a prime example of what could happen to any club when their billionaire owner decides it's time to call it a day... Shit + Fuck

Agreed. As much as I dislike Sky having the monopoly on football coverage at least they provide a decent service. I avoided ever signing up with Setanta, from what I read it sounded like ending your subscription with them was an absolute joke. You had to write to them giving them 30 days notice, (couldn't cancel over the phone or email) they'd deny your letter had reached them so you'd have to send it recorded delivery but time it is so you didn't end your subscription early, ridiculous.

Under normal circumstances I'd laugh this off as utter bullshit However the way things are going this would not surprise me in the least. Nothing on Sky Sports website btw.

Alan Shearer insists he has made no demands on Newcastle in discussions regarding the club's managerial post. The former England striker took charge of the Magpies for the final eight games of the 2008/09 campaign, but was unable to save them from the drop. Despite seeing the club slip into the Championship under his tutelage, Newcastle remain keen to bring Shearer in on a full-time basis. He has held talks with owner Mike Ashley and managing director Derek Llambias, but no decision has been made on which avenue to take. Reports had suggested that Shearer was demanding a big-money contract and a multi-million-pound-transfer budget, something the Magpies were reluctant to give him. The process has also been thrown into doubt following the news that Ashley is keen to sell the club as soon as possible. Conditions Shearer, though, insists everything is going to plan and has rubbished suggestions that demands he may have made were delaying proceedings. "I met Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias last week and we discussed at length the future of Newcastle United and my desire to be the manager moving forward," he said. "I made no demands but there were obvious conditions. We simply proposed an honest evaluation of what was needed to get the club back into the Premiership whilst building solid foundations for the future. "I fully understand Mike Ashley's decision to sell the club as he feels it's now in the best interest of the club and the fans. "I hope to know more by the end of the week."

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_5358754,00.html The plot thickens... Reading this though definitely shows Shearer wants to stay on. Whether that's the best thing for us I'm unsure, but like others have mentioned who the fuck else would want to take the job!

Surely Shearer would be there if this was an announcement about him staying? Unfortunately this regime has left me one very pessimistic motherf*cker regarding the club. I'm sure this is going to be a "we couldn't reach an agreement" speech...

Swear, it's a fuckin conspiracy...

This one from Eduardo, incredible volley.

Didn't we (they) though? completely different circumstances I know but we're fighting to stay in the league, surely vocal support for 90+ mins would have helped us? Booing whenever Chelsea had the ball, a constant barrage of SJP anthems, berating the ref when any decision (rightly or wrongly) went their way, throwing feces at the linesma...I've gone to far I just expected so much more from a packed out St Jame's, it's as if with or without Shearer most of us are resigned to the fact we'll be playing championship football next season -
