Theres always............................................................Next Week Chin Up!

I think in most normal clubs the deal would have been long done by now. Still im excited as hell to be going, even though i've just had to fork out £60 for two tickets!!! There were queues out the door at the ticket office so dont know if that means anything or not with regard to a big gate or whether its normal on match day.

Dont blame us, blame the journo's......We're just participating in trench humour and blind optimism.

Newcastle on brink of £100m takeover by Barry Moat as Mike Ashley flies in to club's training ground for further talks by COLIN YOUNG Last updated at 1:02 PM on 18th August 2009 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has flown into the club's training ground as talks to sell the club gather pace. The troubled North East club have confirmed they are in advanced talks with local businessman Barry Moat to clinch a £100million deal to sell the club. Ashley flew in his helicopter just after midday and he is expected to team up with managing director Derek Llambias at the training ground before meeting Moat, who is putting together a buy-out package.

Ashley flies into training ground this morning.....

Could be, but I just wanna forget this.

it's a nailed on guarantee that if shearer gets the job Lee will be on his team, nailed on I say.
-
They are trying to keep the lid on it today so they can announce it tomorrow and create a matchday party atmosphere. This will also give them time to tie up Shearer and Rob Lees signature meaning all three can be presented on the pitch before the game.
-
nailed on to be announced today / tommorrow.

The above is from todays telegraph. Good news if Barclays have given the ok. And Ashley must have know all along what the bid was so that shouldn't be a stumbling block. Doesn't all exciting stuff usually break on a Wednesday!

Newcastle takeover will be decided this week Newcastle's ownership will be decided this week, possibly as early as Tuesday, as Mike Ashley considers whether to accept an offer to buy the club from Tyneside businessman Barry Moat. Moat is keen to conclude a deal by the end of the week in order to allow Alan Shearer, his chosen manager, time to buy or sell players before the transfer window closes. Moat is understood to have secured the financing required to complete the deal if Ashley is willing to accept his offer, thought to be in the region of £70-£80 million. Related Articles Butt: Newcastle must win fans back Campbell eyes Newcastle move Ameobi backs Hughton as Newcastle manager Newcastle 3 Reading 0 Hughton making best of bad job Newcastle sign Simpson Crucially Moat is understood to have secured the backing of Barclays, which provides the £40 million overdraft that allows the club to operate. It is understood that Barclays has been seeking assurances that the debt will be reduced as part of the takeover. It is though that the proceeds of recent player sales that have seen Obafemi Martins and Sebastien Bassong leave the club have not been used to reduce debt, causing some concern at the bank. Barclays is thought to be well-disposed to the Moat takeover, however, and has received reassurances that his proposal is solid. Moat is putting up some of the money to buy the club himself, with the balance coming from investors. The key to the deal proceeding, as it has been for several weeks, is Ashley agreeing to accept Moat's offer. Ashley is seeking £100 million for the club and has appeared reluctant to accept less despite the parlous state of the club's finances. With a wage bill of more than £60 million last season and revenue from the Championship unlikely to reach two-thirds of that any new owner faces a costly and precarious re-building operation. Time is also running short for a deal to be concluded. Once the transfer window closes the chances of Ashley finding a buyer this season diminish rapidly, and he will be faced with supporting the club for another season with no guarantee that it will be promoted. He has yet to indicate whether or not he will accept the offer, but the sight of Moat and Ashley sitting side-by-side at St James' Park on Saturday was the best indication yet that a deal might be imminent.

All we can do with Shola is be grateful for the hat-trick but not go overboard and suddenly think "he's now found his level" etc. We all know he will more than likely be back to being shit next week. Its telling that Duff scores one and gets snapped up, shola scores three and........

Is it just my fading memory or did Colochini have a very good prolonged run in the premiership before it all went tits up.

Fathers for Justice or whatever come across as right wankers though. And there's more to this than just getting pubclicity. We've got loads of that. Hit the cunt in the pocket. What will picketing his head office do? It's probably a warehouse in Herts or something anyway. Problem is he wont get hit in the pocket. Even last year when Keegan went there were still plenty of people queueing up for pies and drinks inside the ground. With the takeover hanging by a thread, I now hope he gets shit loads of verbals today just in case it helps make his mind up to sell. Some form of drastic action needs to be organised.
-
There are many different ways to protest. Its doubtful that a match boycott will happen and its a waste of time imo standing outside of sports direct in gateshead and newcastle. Fathers direct have shown that there are other ways to get lots of publicity. A bit of organisation is whats needed (nusc?) Better than a picket line outside his shop, try his head office. etc etc
-
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...break-down.html don't know what's more depressing, the fact that the out of work werepig can turn us down or that the meeting was taking place yesterday, surely meaning the takeover is dead.

Protesting Now is not something in the interests of the protest group that was born out of protest. The protests took the committee by surprise. No "personal" offence pp but this is exactly what happens when democracy gets trampled on egos take over. Small meeting shows small desire for protest. Small meeting didn't mean there was a lack of desire for moving to a supporters trust. Then we have " but you don't realise what's going on argument". It appears to me that the committe are too busy travelling the north east flogging a dead horse that they don't realise what's going on with their members. And what the hell is the statement it's got to be with the backing of the fanzines / websites. Rubbish the committee should act on the backing of the members whether this leads to bad pr or good pr or a slagging off on some message boards. In my conclusion nusc has wasted a year following a pipe dream when they should have been building on momentum and creating a great supporters club for Newcastle. They have postponed democratic elections. and stalled on calls for forum for members to discuss issues. Last night should have been a night for strong leadership not surrender. While the record book might show 2000 members, like me I would guess 1800 of those are fed up with the whole thing.
