Not quite what I had in mind

Trying to find somewhere that does a cracking xmas party which would ideally include a 3 course scran, comedia, cabaret and disco in south Tyneside, Gateshead or Newcastle. (not Chester le street or St. James) upto about £30 a head. Anyone any reccomendations?

Just love it Theres no real point trying to debate them as it just comes down to what floats your boat and we are all different, however....... If HF is right and their tour was the 3rd biggest ever in history (i assume thats worldwide( then its safe to say a lot of people are getting what you refer to as ZZZZZZZZ! I love that method of dismissing facts as if they cloud the issue. XTC were a far better band and never got close to the widespread recognition The Police got.

Guess its just one of those "feelings". Recently bought the "Best of Sting and The Police" for the I Phone so really only just started paying attention to them again after so long. Listening to it as an adult, rather than a kid I was taken aback by the whole quality of the lyrics, music and general timelessness of a lot of their songs. Im not a big music junkie but you hear talkalots on the TV Radio going on about U2, Oasis etc etc but I cant recall people talking about The Police with the same status and esteem. Regardless, like you im gutted that Ive missed the re-union.

Nice facts and figures (mainly from when they were in their pomp) but the tour figures may highlight what I mean. The public obviously love them but I wouldnt have said they were talked about in the same regards as other bands who seemed to get drooled about.

Currently listening to the very best of sting and the police and can't help feeling how underated they were / are. The melodies and the lyrics are quite superb and still seem so timeless 20 odd years later. Would really like to see them live if they ever get back on the road. Fantastic.
