  1. That could apply to any of the money go round managers as we know better than most. What would Hughton have to next season to convince you he's worth a proper contract? I also wonder what your answer would have been to the above if it had been asked on the eve of this season?
  2. The question should probably be shouldn't we hurry up and get him tied down on a proper contract before another club recognises his achievements and snaps him up. When you consider that alot of pundits and many on here thought we may do a Leeds, the job he has done with the burdens of low moral, Ashley and knowing a lot of the fans wanted shearer, then it becomes clear why a lot of other chairman will be keeping a watchfull eye on events.
  3. I would also add that he's the only manager apart from KK and Sir Bob that i can say I've liked and think well of. Haven't been to a game for a while, but would like to think he's getting some credit from the terraces.
  4. Can't remember and as I'm at work and on the bat phone it's hard to keep track when a discussion cross threads! My point in both threads however is that given his coaching abilities, which are meant to be sound, he may now be learning in the other parts of the job which will make him a decent manager. Particularly bearing in mind the dross out there on the manager merry go round.

    Thems

Washington DC is currently being hit by a massive blizzard. That is a fact. What makes it interesting is the local medias description of the Blizzard. 'Snowpocalypse' and 'Snowmageddon' I just love America
  6. Fair point re midfield, but let's also bear in mind how many of that team last night are "his" players since taking over. The formation might have been forced, but 6 or7 of that team are at Newcastle because he got them and for that he does deserve credit.
  7. And how many "1st teamers" were we missing? Could have all back fired terribly for Hughton so all credit to him, particularly bearing in mind the dross performances we were coming into this game on the back of. It will interesting to see what happens over coming weeks with who he plays. Hope he has the balls to make senior players wait.
  8. Maybe Hughton will be the man! We know their is a gravy train of shit managers out there who just do the rounds achieving very little and picking up nice wages. The Hughes, Allardyces, Bruces etc etc Then theirs the young uns who are meant to be the future such as Keane, Inces etc. Again not proven and just waiting to get on the big boy gravy train. Then we have Hughton. Not only does he look like Obama, he is roundly judged by his peers to be a fairly good coach. Is that not a good solid platform on which to build a career as a manager? Is he not learning how to control a game and become tactically aware this season? Does he seem to make good substitutions? And do some of his transfer dealings look as though they are making a difference? Of course only time will tell, but maybe it is time to stop thinking of the glory manager and just see if we are grooming a little gem right under our nose. Chris, you have my full support.

  10. QFT. I know it has somewhat of a status at the club, but surely the player makes that status? Not every no9 has been a cult hero. Id just give it to someone. It shouldnt be a burden. this

  14. St James is rocking, we're all rocking and most importantly the players will all be rocking. An excellent time for confidence to take off. Cmon!

  16. wasn't quite as inbred then and basically "in those days" and aged 17, anything with breasts was a result.
  17. I was told that at Asda the interviews are quite long winded affairs covering 3 / 4 hours. They basically want to establish that you'll jump through hoops without question and can be a team player. 2 hours interrogation then 2 hours on the shop floor. Did you not get that job then? Na, not a team player. Tbf when I was 17 I worked for a supermarket in Jarrow called Laws. Just remember loads of fanny working and shopping there. Used to have a permanent teenage hard on! Thank god I used to wear quite a heavy butchers apron.
  18. There's a song on the new Yoko Ono album called Healing. For the first two months I had it I thought she was saying "Hearing".
