  1. Apparently we are through to the semi finals of the FA youth cup!
  2. Is Haris back from injury yet? Is he not meant to be one of the biggest young prospects in Europe? Also what about Frank Dank??? Somebody must have been at a few reserve matches this season.
  3. Few glimpses I've seen of him he looked worth having around the first team.
  4. The mother of the 5 year old from Oldham taken hostage in Pakistan has made an emotional appeal....... Can someone cover his shift in the shop this weekend?
  5. Without this turning into an a pro / against Ashley thread, has anyone been following the youth / reserves, the likes of Haris Vukic etc etc
  6. Because the first priority after relegation was to stem the cash flowing out of the club by way of cutting the wage bill, slashing jobs and getting money into the coffers. Not pleasant but given relegation the only option.
  7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permian-Trias...xtinction_event This must be the one I am getting mixed up with. Nasty little bugger that.
  8. 25 Lessons passed everything first time. I have had my License for 2 years in the start of may Oops!!! Your fuckarooneed I think.
  9. I thought they had all decided it was due to a sudden discharge of methaney stuff from the sea bed.
  10. A massive asteroid was to blame for the demise of the dinosaur, and not a volcanic eruption, scientists have said. A panel of 41 experts from around the world said the mass extinction wiped out more than half of all species on the planet, including the dinosaurs and some large marine reptiles. The concluded the impact, that happened around 65 million years ago, cleared the way for mammals to become Earth's dominant species. The 15-kilometre wide asteroid is believed to have hit the planet with a force one billion times more powerful than the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. It resulted in the crater known as the Chicxulub crater buried underneath the Yucatan Peninsula. The asteroid - about the size of the Isle of Wight - would have blasted material at high speed into the atmosphere. That set off a chain of events that caused a global winter, wiping out much of life on Earth in a matter of days, the review says. Scientists had previously argued about whether the so-called Cretaceous-Tertiary (KT)extinction was caused by the asteroid or by volcanic activity in India over 1.5 million years. For the new study, scientists analysed 20 years of work by palaeontologists, geochemists, climate modellers, geophysicists and sedimentologists. They concluded that geological records show the event that triggered the extinction destroyed marine and land ecosystems rapidly, meaning an asteroid impact was the only plausible explanation. Dr Joanna Morgan, co-author of the review from Imperial College London, said: "We now have great confidence that an asteroid was the cause of the KT extinction. "This shrouded the planet in darkness and caused a global winter, killing off many species that couldn't adapt to this hellish environment." Co-author Dr Gareth Collins, also from Imperial College, added: "The explosion of hot rock and gas would have looked like a huge ball of fire on the horizon, grilling any living creature in the immediate vicinity that couldn't find shelter. "Ironically, while this hellish day signalled the end of the 160-million-year reign of the dinosaurs, it turned out to be a great day for mammals, who had lived in the shadow of the dinosaurs prior to this event. "The KT extinction was a pivotal moment in Earth's history, which ultimately paved the way for humans to become the dominant species on Earth."
  11. Can I fuck. But I'm sure I'm right. Btw, do you ever sleep!
  12. Don't know if anyone read about this yesterday but there's now amateur footage of it crashing into the ship on the sky.com site. Perhaps some kind chap can post the video here as I'm at work on the Iphone. Bet there was a few anal discharges when the windows came in!
  13. Pud, Don't think I've praised Ashley and no I won't be buying another season ticket until we are sold or I am convinced ( rather than hope) we are really going in the right direction. Promotion, investment etc. Your second paragraph is a bit schoolboy rant however this season on the whole they've shut up and backed the manager. All sources from within the club describe the atmosphere within the camp as very good. It could have been alot worse on and off the pitch. With regard to Nust, nust itself has changed how it's acted. Maybe if they had taken more action when members were calling for it, they would have achieved more. I think quite a few predicted it would lose support which seems the case. The bottom line is that some, while angered and pissed off at past events have decided to draw a line and move on. I hope for a future that involves a swift sale to the right person (not just any person) or an Ashley who wants to put right his errors either to prove a point or to safeguard his investment. Some just want to keep on fighting a lost cause and that's fine for them. It's simplistic but it's a Paisley / Trimble scenario. I think the silent majority share my view :-)
  14. I thought the youth set us was doing canny under the new guy???? Don't we have some very good prospects below the first team squad. Ofcourse time will prove wether we hang onto them or they get snaffled by the "bigger teams". ( ouch).
  15. Thought it was going to be a flash forward moment...
  16. I really thought Zog was going to be something special. Truth is he's not and never will be. It's just a fact of life that any player that seems a bit pacy and different gets stuck on a pedestal by us and we ignore or forgive the other overwhelming inadaquecies???. Think we keep Hoping too much for the next gazza or Beardsley.
  17. This makes my brain feel the same as when I have a deep two minutes thinking about where the universe ends etc. To think of 10 year olds that I know, I can not conceive of them carrying out such acts and therefore can not think of punishments with regard to a 10 year old. I can only trust in the people who are trained in these matters to come to the right decision. I am sure legions of social workers, doctors, physcologists etc have an input. These are such rare events they are better dealt with in this way than trying to legistate for them. If this turns out to be drug related then I think what a fucking carry on for nowt.
  18. Grudging????? Anyway what is your opinion. Is jonas good enough for the prem?
  19. Is a scenario not possible where the money moves to another league? Might Italy or Spain not rise again? I know people talk about it being great having Europes best here, but I just can't see how this bubble can continue for very much longer. It is obvious from the interview that HF posted that our buying criteria is pretty set with regard to types of players, wage demands and agents cuts. Surely more clubs will be taking this approach which will bring down wages and fees. I appreciate the top 6 will still be gung ho, but that's about it.
  20. My point, CT, was that no one was banging on about Jonas until you said "Oh will you lot stop banging on about Jonas!" I don't think Jonas gets half the praise you think he does, in fact I'd say people in general see him for what he is, and for what atp described. He's our best option on our left, but that's not saying much. Fishy, have another look at page 2 then you will see where it came from. I had commented that our midfield and forwards were not good enough for the prem to which Geordie lad said jonas was. Across the pond said the same and Leazes agreed. A simple "fair enough" will suffice. :-)
  21. No doubt, but he's now realised that noone is interested in buying football clubs at the moment. They're money sinks as a result of spendthrift 'rich' clubs throwing far too much money around at players, consequently forcing the price of players up beyond the amount that can be recompensed with regular footballing income. The recent drastic increases in Television money has only served to further blow out player wages and transfer fees. I think in the next 5 years we'll see wages and transfers settle down quite a bit, and consequently clubs like Newcastle (big gates, merchadise sale etc) will be able to run at a profit. When this happens buyers that are more than fantasy may emerge. You talk a lot of sense.
  22. We will have to wait and see, but I really doubt we are going to see many clubs other than the top four chucking money about.
