Mike Ashley --- As Good As It Gets

And Leazes would know about that I am one of the few people who correctly called Ashley, and got the Halls and Shepherd into the correct perspective. Its quite refreshing that you have admitted elsewhere you got them wrong, and yet still say that I am spouting rubbish. You should admit that I was right, and bow down to someone who had superior judgement Shit Im going to bite........ Pop the link in where you correctly called Ashley. -

Manager appointed to gain promotion Manager backed in January window Major players not sold in January you've overstepped the WUM marker CT. Tedious in the extreme now. Talk about the Halls and Shepherd ffs, now THEY gave us something worth supporting. Im talking about the current Leazes , not fucking history. Hall and Shepherd are as relevant to today as Malcolm McDonald. And I am talking about ambition, and desire for success. You are getting tedious, and obviously a WUM.. Your credibility will dive if you keep up spouting this shite :icon_lol: As much as I'd like to plod on, I know where this is heading and I simply have lost the will to discuss those unmentionables with you. Better men than me have tried and failed. You win. -

Some of the kids forget that though sadly, they've been brainwashed like the good little puppies they are. Basically if they're fed shit for long enough they start to think that's how it should be. Incidentally I'm still not sold on this idea of how we were sliding in to oblivion and Ashley saved us. Most Premiership clubs have a managed debt and we were no exception, I've read nothing anywhere that fortifies this alleged downward financial spiral we were supposedly on. All I've heard is hearsay and accusations. Truly staggering -

A picture paints a thousand words I'll have the same bet with you. I'll pay £40 to a charity of your choice if I lose. You stop posting for 6 months if I win. I don't believe that's the same bet But instead of paying both £40 an account of Pud and I, why not just agree with Pud's £80? Incidentally why do you want me to stop posting? Sick of the fact that I won't agree with the complete bollocks you're preaching? As for January being 'rebuilding' we bought Leon Best for fuck's sake. So I've got to agree to Puds bet but you dont have to agree to mine. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: Says it all really Craig I'd match the same said terms that Pud outlined to you. I have no problem with sticking £120 in the SBR foundation. In intrigued as to why you'd want me to stop posting mind... Im simply showing your gobshite up for the gobshite it is. You mocked away because I didnt agree to the exact terms of puds bet, but you are doing exactly the same to the terms of my bet. Very sad No what's sad is that you won't put your money where your mouth is whereas Pud and I clearly will. And you're suggesting I'm a gobshite? I beginning to think you may well be HTL under a different guise. Not since him have I seen such a delusional and contrary character... Thats a no then Craig -

I don't think even CT would claim he hasn't done anything wrong. Basically the bloke got out of his depth. He thought he was laying good foundations to take the club forward over a period of years whether that be increasing the family section or trying to put some order to transfers, youth policy etc. Had Harry come instead of Keegan it may have turned out much better, but once the shit storm of Keegangate kicked off he has constantly being on the back foot. For me he gets one last summer to prove he's serious about taking us forward. -
OK Howabout August '09 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=658375 I dont quite get your point. If your asking if the last 18 months have been a rollercoaster of emotions and views, the answer is yes and I dont think I've ever denied that. (Im sure you'll find it if I have) I have hated Ashley, protested against him, joined NUSC, left NUSC, hoped a sale would go through, when we were up for sale, and now considering all that has happened and no shining knights on the Horizon, consider it a good idea to get behind the club and see if the 60th richest man in England really does want to now take us forward. Thats a grown up, considered view of events, which most Newcastle fans seem to share. You on the other hand seem to want to remain the angry man compiling compendiums. I dont know where that gets you other than bitter and twisted.....But hey ho, each to their own. There's tens of thousands of people that still get behind the team as much as they ever have and support the club 100%, through thick and thin. Me included. Correct me if I'm wrong but you're not one of those. Weren't you on a total boycott...until we look like we might win the championship. Still havent been as would many others if they could have got out of there three year deal Most of us don't have to back-peddle to be able to celebrate promotion. We'll be happy about going back up while fully recognising that nothing whatsoever has changed at the club and the outlook is as grim as it ever was. No back peddling here, time moves on. The outlook is anything but grim. Most realise we would at the very least entered administration under Shepherd. I understand you have some backtracking to do if you're going to stop your boycott and enjoy our return like the more dedicated fans, but don't be telling us we're wrong to recognise what a grade A twat Ashley is when you've been one of the most vocal of his opponents. You've honestly got to let go and move on. We all know he fucked up, he's said sorry, he's tried to sell, nobody wants us..... Seriously, you are as obsessed with Ashley as Leazes is with Freddy.

There were lots of possible best courses of action but that still doesnt excuse you and others re-writing history in these sort of debates. Shepherd should have appointed a David Dein type figure when we were succesful. That was the biggest clanger in our recent history. That could have made us a regular top four side instead of a crap, overpaid team scrapping round the foot of the table. But all of that is water under the bridge and there is no point constantly harking backwards. He's now created stability and got us heading back to the prem. No one else wants us. -

They've said sorry.... get over it. Didnt Shepherd call Newcastle women dogs and laugh at the fans because he could rip them off with £5 tat shirts and then slag off Shearer???? When? And even if they did a snivelling, mealy-mouthed, insincere apology hardly makes up for the long-term damage they've done to NUFC. Dodgy, untrustworthy, classless liars who've made a packet selling sweatshop-made polyester tat to chavs, with no connection to the area? No thanks. Long term damage has yet to be proved and could infact be quite the opposite. So you will only settle for Geordie owners? So getting relegated is good for a club? That'll be a comfort to Hull and Portsmouth fans. Given the choice, I'd rather have owners who had an emotional connection to the club. You said long term damage. I dont yet see any long term damage. Infact a lot would say getting back up leaner and meaner is a blessing. But please tell me what the long term damage is? I am trying to understand some of the doom mongers, honest. Are you naive enough to assume that if we're back in the Premiership next season, it'll be just as it was at the start of the 08/09 season and it'll be like the period September 2008 - May 2009 never happened? Christ almighty... I simply just asked what the long term damage will be. Fucking simple question really Lost millions, gone from being a club that played in europe something like 13 seasons out of 16 to one that should be "satisfied" with 17th, one that sold out every home game to one with 10000 empty seats sometimes. The long term damage is that we've gone from being regularly top 6-8 and attracting top, top players to one that is a million miles away from that. Fucking simple answer really And all that happened after Ashley. You have just simply highlighted the usual "sheep" hysteria. We were dying a death under Fat Fred, heading for relegation under Fat Sam, possible going Bust.......NOT REGULARLY FINISHING IN THE TOP 6. Those days had goooooooooonnnnnnnnnneeeeeee!!!!!! The last roll of the dice was future cash on Owen and look what happened there. Seriously, try and discuss things from reality and you will have much more chance of convincing people. -

Is that the sum of your ambition? Would you consider 17th a good season? We were miles ahead of Villa and Spurs not so long ago, but now we should be satisfied with their cast offs? Don't forget Dr Ken... there's no 'long term' damage.... Precisely. CT, do you believe that we'll even be able to compete with the likes of Everton, Birmingham and Fulham for good players signatures, never mind Villa & Spurs. yes Based on what? Players have all sorts of reasons for joing clubs. Spanish stars may want to come and play with Enrique, he's constantly gushing about how good it is. Chris Hughton carries a lot of respect with players and they will have seen / heard how good the camp is up here. Some will just want the challenge of playing infront of 45,000 fans And sum will be sold the dream that we are a club going places. Players (or their agents) are only bothered about the coin. You can't put atmosphere, or morale, or a dream in the bank. Are you (conveniently) forgetting how desperate Hughton was in the PL last year? He's had a very succesful year in the job since then ffs As Ive said before, if it was Shearer doing this you would be creaming yourself every night. -
Couldn't agree more CT 2008 ffs :icon_lol: Move on Happy, move on.

Get fucking real ffs Most fans would take survival in our first year back. Ofcourse its not the sum of my ambition but you sound like one of those deluded fans on talk sport (who'll will be on the radio throughout the summer) saying how we are going to take the league by storm. Survival next year is all that matters. If ashley hadn't made such a fuck-up of it, we wouldn't have been relegated in the first place, and therefore wouldn't need to be satisfied with survival. No, we could have been left with Fat Fred finally throwing the last spin of the dice -

So you'll take 17th as well -

January? I'd love to know how he successfully laid foundations for the club to survive the Premier League next season in January. What I see is a bunch of average players who will probably look out of depth and ineffective next season. Now thats a totally different question to what you asked now isnt it? What I asked was what is bolded which is pretty much what I was getting at in my second post (as well you know). In January, promotion was still very likely and as a result, we should have been signing players with some upside for the Premiership rather than whatever was available (Leon Best springs to mind). This season is still clearly part of the rebuilding process with regards to the squad and we're still a weaker side than we were when we were relegated; Not that I was expecting bona-fide Premiership players but when you're signing Coventry City rejects and whatever Portsmouth couldn't afford to pay, what makes you think that he's going to spend £15 million in the summer on real quality? I'm expecting some more Portsmouth exiles and whatever we can get from the likes of Villa/Spurs, certainly not the 5-6 first teamers we'd need, on top of assured back-up. The bit in red is also what you asked which I answered. January was about assuring promotion The summer will be about surviving our first year back up. Villa and spurs cast offs may be just what we need to survive. -
