  1. Can anyone say something about the atmosphere last night. It looked cracking on TV, particularly the last 30 minutes and Hughton looked like a kid with a new toy when they sang his name.
  2. I was thinking which players I would consider the best home grown player, the best non trophy player who went on to be a great player and the best trophy player. I thought it might make an interesting thread and then came up with Gazza, Beardsley and Shearer and thought thread over really? Any offers or other catergories?
  3. There was so much special aboutlast night it feels so damn good this morning
  4. Thoughts. Jonas is still no good. Well taken goal by Shola Collocinis delight at Sholas goal Delighted for Enrique and over the moon at his genuine reaction to the goal. Loved the Junior school "pile on" Nice to see Ashley so genuinely excited with the goals / result As above for Jumping Hughton Thought Hughtons after match interview was excellent and had tones of early Keegan about it.
  5. Jonas wasting everything!!!! Stop going down the left and give it to Routledge, at least he can cross. And carol mincing around and as said previously should be on the scoresheet by now. Get Barton on ffs
  6. If this was a horror film, what would you be shouting at the screen?????? Get out, run, they're going to get you!!!!! But the daft middle class couple stay put and wait until coffins start popping up in the garden. Run Now and dont look back
  7. I think 15 mill should be the least Hughton gets. There should also be money from outgoings, tho hopefully they will be Hughtons choices, unless silly money is offered. I would like to hold on to all the good ones and avoid the Waddle Beardsley days but if a silly offer allows some extra money in the kitty then it may be worthwhile.
  8. Re the 26 age, has anyone at the club actually stated that it is a hard and fast rule or is it more of a guide ( wish I guess is a wish of most clubs)
  9. 17 working days before the election date is the minimum amount of notice needed. Cheers. For anyone interested, the first of the TV debates starts at 8pm tonight. with "Ask the Chancellors" Get the record button set. Cant see anything other than a George Osbourne raping on live TV and wouldnt be surprised if he runs off crying half way through. His only saving Grace is that both Darling and Cable seem to come from the Geoffrey Howe school of rough politicians. Still think it might all be too much for Georgy. http://www.channel4.com/microsites/A/askthechancellors/
  10. A good weekend for the Tories. Cash for Lobby questions keeps on going... News of the World backs Tories.... Tories to undo Labour policy and save 7 out of 10 from National Insurance Tax Hike.... Strong attacks on Brown..... Does anyone know when Brown has to announce the election by, if its to take place by 6th May?
  11. Sometimes I really do believe you're a cockend. Election manifestos are exactly that and no doubt once the election process is complete then I can post my thoughts, thing is doing it now and here would make it look like I was canvassing votes which is something Im clearly not doing. My election statement is exactly as it should be, my personal views on what I can bring to the table and what I think the way forward is for the Trust. Its clearly not the views of the committee as you'll have no doubt seen should you have read all of the statements. What I have said there and what I said in reply to 2J do not contradict or prove anything what it did though was answer 2Js question, I dont know whats happening with it because its moving on at its own pace and nothing can really happen either way until the new committee is installed officially. Its not rocket science dickwad and its clearly not some attempt at smoke and mirrors, as anyone with half a brain cell could tell. Anyway isnt it time for you to change your views on the football club? Its been at least a week since the last backpedal. Jesus, straight into warrior overdrive again Whats the big deal? You've given your personal view on NUST many times on here and your obviously of the viewpoint its currently a non starter given your comment..... Surely theres no reason why you cant elaborate on why that time is not now???? And as for ..... You do know how silly that sounds.....Like to see Gordon Brown try it. Seriously I dont know what the big problem is with a bit of honesty from NUST. We've had the big launch, then the re-launch with a six week deadline and the promise of big names to be made public and then..... And on a personal note, you seriously want to have a word with yourself. This is an internet forum, a bit of banter, a bit of a laugh. You dont need to keep getting so stressed just because people have different views.
  12. As pp says o2 are brilliant. Great (English based) call centres as well not like oranges Indian rubbish. You'll get a brand new disc and wireless modem. I think you will also need to ask orange for a PAC code, but if you ring the lovely o2 call centre they will tell you. Buy British :-)
  13. Brown will be gone in a few weeks which makes this a total non starter.
  14. I think the answer jonny2j was after was the one from your personal manisfesto which states.... "I welcomed "Yes We Can" and like many I feel it can and will work at some stage, unfortunately I don't believe that time is now". Why not just tell it as you see it. Enough smoke and mirrors from the club without Nust starting that game.
  15. Yes we can has turned into fuck me we can't and it's a shame NUST and it's followers can't be a little bit more upfront about the current situation. In reality it's back to my proposal of a supporters club with a matchday pub..... Now if only they'd listened to me from the start......
  16. http://www.falconcomputers.co.uk/generic/website.asp Highly highly reccomended. Will ask what you want it for ie gaming etc and then give you the options. Fantastic showroom next to the bowling alley in Sunderland or order online.
  17. this But he had a chance, albeit truncated, in the PL and was utter cuntwash. 1. I think those were dark days when all sorts of shit was going on behind the scenes (Players wanting out etc) 2. I think will have learnt quite a lot from his season in charge 3. The players like him. 4. He doesnt appear to be an egomaniac. 5. He IS a good coach. 6. He deserves a go. 7. As with Souness, Fat Sam, Hullit etc there are no guarantees anyone else will do better. 8. Christopher Hughton is an anagram of ......Thug, cherish hot porn
  18. Hughton's job is to get us promoted. If we'd have had 3 decent strikers on our books then Carroll would have been dropped. We did not have those options. The 'big picture' that our Mackem scribe alludes to is securing promotion. We won't be back into the Premier League on high virtue. Nothing else matters. If Steven Taylor wants to leave because we didn't do something that would have cost us 2 points, well off you go. When it comes to the crunch, it's about going up. No-one is going to remember in 10 years time that there was a dressing room dust-up, all they'll remember is the 'P' next to the league record. Hughton surprised everyone in retaining Carroll for Tuesday, and it paid off. He took a tough decision in the public spotlight (something humdrum regional sports journalists rarely are called on to do). And despite the initial controversy, it's actually been less of a story than it could have been, mainly due to Hughton's blanking of media discussion. 'Surely diminished'? Not a chance. And quite how this whole affair could lead to the manager's eventual replacement for Steve McLaren is beyond me. I'd love to know exactly what this mystical 'chain of events' in Louise's head actually is. One of those occasions where the journalist totally backs the wrong pony. Why she thinks she is onto a winner with this is very strange. Totally agree with the bit in bold. As someone alluded too a few days ago, it looks like Taylors dad has been on the phone. I really couldnt care if we keep both, either or none. Ive always found Taylor funny and harmless and I dont like thugs, which Carrol definitely seems to be. Hopefully we can replace both in the summer.
  19. The days of Jack Bauer saving America from terrorists will soon be over - the hit series 24 has been cancelled with the final "hour" airing in May. Fox Broadcasting said the decision to axe the show was made in agreement with star Kiefer Sutherland, along with other executives involved in its production. "It was determined that the acclaimed series will end its remarkable eight-season run," Fox said in a statement. News of the cancellation first broke on the social networking website Twitter. "News from the 24 set, the crew has been told that 24 has come to an end," tweeted Jon Cassar, the producer of the series up until the end of season seven. "Its been a great run, than(ks) all (for) watching." Actress Mary Lynn Rajskub, who plays Chloe O'Brien on the show, also tweeted with the news. "Just found out we got the word officially," she wrote. "This is 24's last season." The hugely popular show first aired in the US in late 2001 and will conclude with its 194th final episode in a two-hour finale on May 24. Bauer's uncompromising approach and willingness to use torture helped fuel the debate over tactics in the War on Terror in the age of Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and extraordinary rendition. "This has been the role of a lifetime, and I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to everyone who made it possible," Sutherland said. "While the end of the series is bittersweet, we always wanted 24 to finish on a high note, so the decision to make the eighth season our last was one we all agreed upon. "This feels like the culmination of all our efforts from the writers to the actors to our fantastic crew and everyone at Fox." Die-hard fans may still have a surprise coming - Sutherland hinted at a film version being made. "Looking ahead to the future, (we) are excited about the opportunity to create the feature film version of 24," he said. Buzz in Hollywood has Bauer heading to Europe in the movie version. "But when all is said and done, it is the loyal worldwide fan base that made it possible for me to have the experience of playing the role of Jack Bauer, and for that I am eternally grateful." The series, in which episodes unfold in real time, has been acclaimed during its run as redefining the TV action genre and has been nominated for a total of 68 Emmy Awards. The first six seasons were set in Los Angeles and following a one-year break forced by the writers' strike, season seven went to Africa and Washington, DC. A bit gutted but I think it had run it's course as this season seems to have dragged. The change to film could be fun, especially if set in Europe.
  20. Kitman C. --- Is capable of much better. Seriously, it's the weekend and some of us are stuck in a Small black cab in the middle / end of a recession with nowt better to do!!!!!
