  2. Welcome back, Newcastle! Five reasons why the Geordies will brighten up the Premier League Daily Mail
  3. Dont know about the exact trip but National Express are advertising there around Britain for a quid offer which might help you. http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx
  4. The Second half part cuts off right after the final whistle, but the guy uploaded the whole post match stuff in that separate file. Cheers for that, I'll have a look for the separate file.
  5. On now for anyone who fancys a listen http://www.facebook.com/toontalklive
  6. Because he just looks so good and different to what we are used to. The way he commands the box and distribution look first class. He just looks so energetic which is also his one weakness, however once he calms down a tad he will be the finished article IMO If we are not careful he will be away.
  7. Andy Carroll, Nile Ranger, Kadar, Tozer, Edgar, Krul, Vuckic and Tavernier have all played come through over the last 2 seasons. I don't think we won't give promising players an opportunity, i just don't think the players are coming through, we haven't produced a decent central midfielder since Lee Clark.. Iirc there have been no examples in recent years of young players we've released who've gone on to play at the top level. Slightly connected... I dropped a woman off at housing near that Dunston Rocket and she was telling me that the lamposts have signs on then warning kids face an £80 fine for playing ball games.
  8. But its a forum and I doubt many would know my milkman (not that I have one).
  9. You don't half peddle some absolute bullshit... Was the full quote craig Laugh away but to me watching him get interviewed he comes across in that nice decent way that gives you a warm glow. Tends to choose his words carefully. Maybe its just the fact that he's one of those managers that you "like" rather than the Souness, Roeder, Allardyce, Kinnear type of manager who are either full of themselves or full of shite. I always new is we won under Allardyce he would sort of claim all the credit himself, he did this , he did that.....yet if we lost it was always blaming a player etc... Anyway fuck yas all except Tecato (strange name that like) I think the question mark over Hughton is if he can be as ruthless as Robson. Thats a very good point and will be the making or breaking of him. Hopefully he'll be on a very good stepped bonus next year for various finishes and Mrs Hughton will be driving him hard
  10. I agree that a good scouting/youth system is one of the last things you want to cut back on. Makes absolutely no sense to me and I hope Ashley is taking it more seriously than his predecessors. We'll see, one benefit of not paying too much for players is that if they're cack you can move them on quietly without too much fuss and the others can make their mark without the pressure of expectation being too high. I'm not defending how Ashley's behaved up until now. More what I'm saying is that he's still here and presumably has learned SOMETHING about running a football club. We're back in the PL with a manager who's had a chance to learn away from the glare of the spotlight and seemingly a good feeling about the club again. He's not though, that's the point I'm making. The academy's still an absolute joke. I take your other points on board btw. Absolute tosh He came in and tried to put a system in place with various scouting roles etc. All those blokes whose names I forget that were going to be searching the world (via you tube) for talent. Then came Keegangate, tits up and relegation The point is the original idea was to have an extensive system in place. Having being relegated, managerless and debts mounting, staff made redundant it is quite clear that very little (appointment of carr aside) was going to happen til promotion had been assured. That has now happened and IF and its a fucking huge IF, he doesnt sell us, I have no doubt that he will once again copy his retail empire and try to put systems and structures in place to build us into a strong position. The difference, hopefully , will be lesson will have been learned from his first attempt and this time the structure will be solid , stable and work. That is the only way this club is ever going to compete at the heighest level again.

  12. I don't think we're any worse as a side now than we were last year and we haven't spent much. For every Shearer there's a Luque or Boumsong. We were relegated, the wheels came off. We weren't too big to go down. I think like most things it was a chance to take stock, lower expectations of a quick fix and start rebuilding. The Keegan and Robson eras weren't instant fixes, they grew and gained momentum. As a club we were acting like any big organisation that's lost its way. Too many divisions, no proper leadership and too much waste. We were humbled and took it on the chin. Hughton and his players have momentum again. I don't know if you went last night but from the TV footage the ground looked like it was rocking again. It's about energy. I remember the feeling of anti climax after we finished 5th. Once that mindset is there you either need a huge amount of luck, money or both. We blew a lot of money but we didn't get any luck and people were waiting for us to fail. Now it's someone elses turn, maybe Liverpool and we can hopefully get on with building a decent side with stable management and move on up the league. Of course it might not happen like that but IMO it could. I've said it before, there are too many here who seem to be almost wishing for it not to happen and I really don't see what the benefit is. Good Post Have a read of Caulkins latest today, lot of sense in it.
  13. A lot of that credit definitely goes to Hughton. Even though it pisses the hacks off that he is "bland", they all seem to have only good words to say about him. (Ofcourse the knives will be out shortly). He definitely has a Bobby Robson aura around him in his personality. A sort of decent proper bloke.
  14. Some good video interviews here for anyone who missed them http://www.skysports.com/video/clips/0,23791,16497,00.html
  15. Re large flow of water Matt, do you know where this cuts off? Is it at the final whistle or are all the after match interviews on.
  16. Louise Taylor Newcastle band together to find their way home
  17. Whats this about a New York tour?! I live there! I've never seen Newcastle play in person before, so this would be a dream come true http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle...79310-26171000/ Red Bulls world series of football in Jersey
  18. Its alrite like....i quite like the view although the atmosphere isnt exactly great up there. That said with the context of tonights match id imagine all around the ground will be buzzing! Taxi parked up and off to stake my claim for the best table in the pub. The early start however will lead to far too many Kronnenburgs which in turn will no doubt lead to some very silly posts come 10pm. Enjoy it boys and girls Arrived just ahead of the Rush at 5.30pm and secured that one table in the pub that everyone craves. The stage was all sett for four worried men to perform "as soon as the match is finished" claimed the Landlord. 5 minutes into the second half the sound suddenly goes off!!! "Whats going on"? "Sorry lads, the band needs to start now, but dont worry, I'll leave the TV screens on. Taxiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii to next pub Watched the second half no probs but as soon as the whistle went, sound off, Taped music on! No interviews etc Bastards
