  1. rubbish. Nobody said fuck all about Drogba either he is out of reach of most clubs even if he wanted to leave Chelsea. I didn't even mention "trophy signings". You are making excuses. There is nothing to be ashamed of if you declare your intention to be successful and step up your actions to show you are serious. You're being ornery Leazes, there is no benefit to set out your stall as having bags of cash. It's blatantly obvious man. You walk into a car-dealership reeking of money they're going to up the price, you look hobo they're going to be glad of a sale. You can say "We want to achieve great things", but that's not what has been said, what has been said is "Well there won't be many signings" to suggest we have little funds, whether we do or not. It just makes sense to obfuscate our actual transfer war chest. Off Topic but, Walked into three dealerships today and looking to spend 20-30 grand on a minibus and none of the sales staff could be bothered to get off their arses. Actually went a spoke to one of them (sitting at his desk, looking at the newspaper) in one dealership in Dunston and the conversation went like this..... Moi Hi, have you goy any minibusses Him No Moi So where do I go to get a new ford Mini Bus? Him We sell them Moi When can I see one? Him You cant, you have to order them and they take at least 16 - 20 weeks Any wonder this country struggles with customer service
  2. Watched George Osbourne in a few interviews over the 24 hours......Absolutely weak as piss and needs taking for a walk in the woods.
  3. You Know who --- 17th August 2009 What, no match day memories?? Oh, wait...... Still hurting
  4. You seem very melancholy tonight.........Pissed?
  5. see that thing in the top left? it says "the sun" are you honestly posting this as a credible source of tory support? Shakes head.......Youth of today I was posting it because over the years, The sun (Britains biggest selling newspaper) has traditionally produced some very good election day front pages and likes to think of itself as king maker. They have included such treasures as....
  6. You do know that Labour and Lib Dem MP's went to Eton also?
  7. FFS Cheer up Its a bit of fun man Hopefully it wont go as far as Cameron getting into to office because that's where the fun will end. The funs already ended whoever wins
  8. You have mentioned some of the problem of the voting system, and yet Call me Dave wants to keep it, as it provides a 'strong government', and will not talk of any reforms. All the polls have pointed towards a hung parliament, and yet Cameron wants to stick with the current system. I agree that it is a very good election to lose, and if I was Clegg, I'd play the long game, and let the Tories lead a minority government and take the economic bullet. Then hammer it home after the Conservatives become as popular as Gary Glitter in a primary school. Labour will be too busy trying to fuck themselves or rebuilding for the next year or two at least. While it has its problems it still seems better than PR. Apparently (and Parky might know better) Germany has PR and each election is decided by the Liberal party and not the voters. (as such)
  9. Save These Girls From The Dole Queue http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/...dole-queue.html NSFW
  10. Only stopping up to see how funny the Suns front page could be.
  11. Our Lass was at the bingo tonight and Vera Duckworth was Guest caller backed up By David Milliband. Anyway, little old grannny wins the £100 full house and gets to go on the stage to receive here wad from the two celebs. David Milliband grabs the Mike and says "shouldnt she get £500 instead"....... To which one wifey shouts back.."No doubt you'll just claim it on yer expenses".....
  12. Tonights political thoughts. Apparently only 100 seats matter tomorrow and out of the 10's of millions who will vote, as little as 20,000 people will decide the outcome. Dont like the idea that Nick Clegg could end up choosing the next prime minister (regardless of whether its Brown or Cameron). It shouldnt be decided by one vote. Most important of all, the talk in the last few days has all been about the pain that is going to follow. Commentators reckon that all three parties have so far only owned up to about 20% of the cuts that are needed to start to tackle the defecit problem. Once the election is over the true savage cuts will need to be revealed. Not only will this make Thursdays winners pariahs and unelectable for a generation, it could also lead to mass public unrest, the like of which we have not seen before, even during the poll tax riots.
  13. can't see anything over than Labour with a reduced majority unfortunately. The only silver lining (and a lesson to you all to always have a silver lining) is that I know the joy it will have brought to NJS and he seems like a nice lad.
  14. in a nutshell the most relevant point in this thread. I have a feeling Labour may hold on this time but be so weakened we need a re-run at which point the conservatives will get in.
  15. So its 1.21 in the morning and there are still plenty of Toontastic regulars reading and writing on the forum........ WHY? Nightshift, Insomnia, drunk? I fell asleep on the sofa watching Troy and popped on for a quickie before bed.
  16. We're all fighting for Craigs vote, Floating Craig is the King Maker
  17. Talking of myths it looks like you've swallowed that one. I'm not sure if theres been a boardroom meeting ever where, when a company has a huge new order on the table,or has a chance to move into a new market,to expand and develop, the chairman has turned round and said "but NI contributions are too high for the x amount of extra staff we'll have to employ, lets not bother eh?" Its a bare faced lie peddled by the business community in an attempt to gain favour with a potential new tory government. Signed by 60 business leaders from some of the countrys top boardrooms such as M&S, Glaxosmithkline, Sainsburys, Virgin, Next etc etc etc
