pretty sure Mad Jock has started a few Leazes baiting threads before too. LM is annoying as hell when he goes into ramble mode but threads like this certainly don't help.

So who actually thinks we will finish 4th?

Which would be more deflating, finishing 5th or finishing 4th but losing the CL place through Chelsea winning the Champions league? -
If Wigan go down, which players do you expect to leave the club? How highly do you rate Victor Moses and James McCarthy?
-
Aye Owen simply didn't look like he gave a fuck that season and was already thinking about his next move.
-
Good shout, he's had a fantastic season. I'd say it's virtually impossible for a Fulham player to make the team of the season though due to their low profile. It's a pile of piss like but what can you do.
-
it's not the nice chap award though. RVP has been outstanding this season from a footballing point of view.

Not that it matters really but it looks like the Walker thing was leaked a few days ago: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/19042012/58/premier-league-scam-fear-pfa-young-player-award.html

Team of the season is pretty much spot on apart from the madness that is the hype around Parker. I mentioned it a few days ago, but Parkers stats for the season are Goals: 0 Assists: 1. I know there's more to his game than that but he's hardly a Claude Makelele type either. In terms of the role Parker plays, Alex Song has been far superior this season. Aguero maybe should be in there too but Rooney has been very good if unspectacular this season so thats one's a close call imo.

Completely agree, not remotely religious myself but have no problem with what Muamba said or believes. Great to see the guy seems to be ok when it genuinely looked like he had very little chance of surviving let alone seemingly doing so without any brain damage or other major problems.

Those comments must have given Ched some sort of "rape complex". Pardew is to blame.
-
and they were a good team to begin with. That said Mourinho is obviously a fantastic manager. I reckon his time at Inter was probably his greatest achievement though when you look at what he had to work with.

How much compensation would Ashley demand from the FA?
TicTacWoe replied to trophyshy's topic in Newcastle Forum
hard to tell if he would. England managers earn around 1 million pounds per nanosecond so I could imagine he might be tempted. -
As long as Blackpool don't win it. I truly loathe Holloway and his "banter".

I predicted we'd come 7th-8th and think that was one of the more optimistic predictions at the time. I don't think anyone predicted us to challenge for the champions league places. By far and away the biggest factor in this season's success has been how quickly and brilliantly the new signings have settled and performed. Every one of them apart from poor old Obertan have been fantastic.

they were actually at the last game as it happens. Kean should have been sacked ages ago to be fair, he's pretty hopeless and looking at the remaining fixtures I don't think the win today will save them.
-
Hottiger wasn't bad, don't think Barton was much of an upgrade.

Two Newcastle players, two spurs players and two man city players, nice bending of the rules Gloomy

Really didn't want to put him on ignore as I don't even disagree with a lot of what he says, it's just that he keeps saying it, in every thread that gives him even the most remote opportunity to bring up his favorite topics. So there we go, on ignore for the time being anyway. I have to say the forum was much more enjoyable for that brief period when he wasn't here. Thing is, when I first joined this forum a few years back he wasn't like this. He was to some extent but it wasn't quite as bonkers/constant.

Both Hamilton and Serrant were seen as promising youngsters who had racked up quite a few appearances for the clubs before joining newcastle but both did absolutely nothing here and after leaving. The PL was probably too big a step up for them. Serrant is now fitness coach at QPR apparently so he must have been reacquainted with a certain Mr Dyer on the treatment table.

I don't mind the likes of Stoke doing what they do to an extent. I like the fact there are completely different approaches to the game but am obviously glad that we're not one of the Stoke types. That said, when it gets to the point where it seems like they're sending players out just to injury the opposition then that takes it too far.

was nice while it lasted

Fulham. But Blackburn are looking woeful and QPR still have some nightmare fixtures. Reckon Wigan will be safe if they win this and get something from Fulham.
-
by the time they play us they may even be pretty much safe

what the hell! Wigan showing some amazing fight these past few weeks.
