A lot of people keep saying he's done well with Wigan, but I'm more of the opinion that Wigan have done well while he's been there due to a good scouting network providing the likes of Palacios and Valencia and the continuing buffoonery of Spurs, Man City and ourselves. (I would however, take him in place of our current 'situation'...obviously)

Not really no, I wouldn't have begrudged Harper a move either. I'm not one of those Given worshippers who reckon he's better than any keeper in world football, I just find it hard to understand a lot of the anti-Given sentiment in this thread.

To all those who keep saying how loyal Harper is compared to Given, he recently said that if Newcastle had accepted Spurs offer for him that he would not be here anymore in which case would you all be calling Harper's loyalty into question? Either way I feel both keepers have been immensely loyal over the years considering the mismanagement at all levels at the club during their time here and I for one hope Shay does well with Man City.

Hello (first post and all that), just thought I'd defend Dalglish as I feel people are ignoring the good things he did. Remember it was Dalglish who got us from 4th to 2nd after he took over to qualify for the CL the following year and although he signed some total stenchers, he also signed---Given, Solano, Speed, Hamman etc Without some of his signings particularly Shay and Nobby we could well have been relegated at one point or another in the last decade.
